The end of the tale of the tail

Oxtail ragout made last night's pasta. There was a lot of gravy left over from the oxtail and - as usual - I wasn't going to let it go to waste. I popped it into another pot and set that to reduce to form a rich sauce.

It bubbled away for ages while I made the pasta and salad and everything else one does ahead of supper. If you look carefully at the picture, you'll see by how much I reduced it: more than half.

The pasta, I drained from the pot, and directly into the sauce.

The final flavour was deep and rich and I topped it all with fresh chopped oreganum and parsley.

With that, the tale of the oxtail ends. Until the next time.

After supper, we thought it quite odd that Gandalf had not assumed his usual position on the sofa between us. We were not too worried because he does have a knack - as do all cats - for finding a "perfect" spot. As I went up stairs, I thought I was being watched.

Spot the cat!

He thought he could hide. Not. That said, I had thought that putting the clean laundry up there, would keep him out of it. Not. Somehow, he has a nose for clean. And, mostly, when he's just rolled in the only patch of dust anyone can find in the garden....

Until next time, be well

Hi Fiona

How are you doing?

That pasta looks so delicious. It's a great way to use the leftover gravy.

Hee hee kitties, I don't know what their deal is with clean laundry but my cats do it too. It doesn't matter where I try to hide it, it gets cat furred no matter what. I wear a lot of grey and light brown clothing now - because I have a white cat and a black and white cat so either way I'm screwed when it comes to lack of cat fur - it gets everywhere. I told a friend the other day that it's their version of glitter and they just want to share it with us 🤣

How's the Mr doing these days? Back to full health yet?

All good this end, and he's betterer every day, thank you. How are things in your pretty part of the world?

Rambo has this Saturday ritual next to the braai. He jumps on my lap. Last week, I was wearing my black, coat. It's covered in ginger "glitter". It's a brushing I'm avoiding!

Glad to hear that. God speed for his full recovery.

Things here are eerily quiet at the moment but otherwise ok thanks.

Lol ginger glitter for the win. I need to brush my cats more and then maybe I won't need to brush my clothing as much 😂

Have a nice day Fiona 🌻
