This style of drawing originated in Italy at the end of the 19th century, the style is based on exaggerating the facial features of a person with the purpose of making a satire or also to make a criticism. Its use in newspapers and magazines is very recurrent, I think Salvador Dalí was a genius and with a somewhat eccentric personality worthy of a caricature, I hope you like it.

Hola amigos de esta querida comunidad, espero que se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo del pintor español Salvador Dalí, este dibujo esta realizado en el estilo caricatura. Este estilo de dibujo tuvo su origen en Italia a finales del siglo XIX, el estilo se basa en exagerar los rasgos faciales de una persona con el propósito de hacer una sátira o tambien para hacer una crítica. Es muy recurrente su uso en periódicos y revistas, creo que Salvador Dalí fue un genio y con una personalidad algo excéntrica digna de una caricatura, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

A caricature is made up of two basic figures, the head is a huge circle that we can deform according to our needs and the body is a line that most of the times is the measurement of the diameter of the circle. When drawing a caricature we must observe the facial features carefully since we can help ourselves with other geometric figures to make the face, such as a triangle, a square or a trapezoid, the great caricature artists rely on these geometric figures to shape their faces. drawings. I have started the sketch in a simple way but as the drawing progresses I will adapt it to Dalí's face.

Una caricatura se compone de dos figuras básicas, la cabeza es un enorme círculo que podemos ir deformando segun nuestra necesidades y el cuerpo es una linea que la mayoría de las veces es la medida del diámetro del círculo. Cuando se dibuja una caricatura debemos observar bien los rasgos faciales ya que podemos ayudarnos con otras figuras geómetricas para hacer el rostro, como un triángulo, un cuadrado o un trapecio, los grandes dibujantes de caricaturas se apoyan en estas figuras geométricas para darle forma a sus dibujos. He comenzado el boceto de forma sencilla pero a medida que el dibujo avanza lo iré adaptando al rostro de Dalí.

The next step is to shape the sketch highlighting, as I said before, those parts of the face that look easy to exaggerate. Salvador Dalí would have very expressive eyes, as well as his nose, and we cannot forget his personal trademark, his outlined mustache. These characteristics are the ones that I consider most important to give more emphasis throughout the drawing.

El siguiente paso es darle forma al boceto resaltando como dije antes, aquellas partes del rostro que se vean facil de exagerar. Salvador Dalí posería unos ojos muy expresivos, tambien su nariz, y no podemos olvidar su marca personal, su delineado bigote. Estas características son las que considero más importantes para darle más énfasis en todo el dibujo.

After having most of it outlined I begin to paint with colors. While I was doing the previous step, the face was deformed too much, it was resembling a witch from the classic Disney stories. So until I saw that I was satisfied with the face I started to paint, I thought to make the skin tone realistic, but since we are talking about the genius of surrealism, I painted his face using various colors at random, taking good care of giving it a human appearance and highlighting the parts of the face.

Después de tener la mayor parte delineada comienzo a pintar con colores. Mientras iba haciendo el paso anterior el rostro se deformaba demasiado, estaba pareciéndose a una bruja de las historias clásicas de Disney. Así que hasta ver que quedé conforme con el rostro comencé a pintar, pense hacer el tono de piel realista, pero como estamos hablando del genio del surrealismo, pinté su rostro utilizando varios colores al azar, cuidando bien darle un aspecto humano y resaltado las partes del rostro..

Next, when I finish painting the whole face, I also shape the eyes, to vary a bit I made them in different colors. In the same way I began to do all the lines to highlight the entire face including the hair, first with normal wax color and then with a black marker to make it look better.

Seguidamente, al terminar de pintar todo el rostro también le doy forma a los ojos, para variar un poco los hice de colores diferentes. De la misma forma comencé a hacer todas las líneas para resalatar el rostro entero incluyendo el cabello, primero con color de cera normal y después con marcador negro para que se viera mejor.

To finish, I painted the hair with a black marker, and then I shaped the rest of the body, such as painting his suit, in this case also black, I added a cane in his right hand that he used to carry in the last years of his life. life, with an hourglass at the top, Salvador Dalí was very obsessed with the passage of time. I gave the last touches in each detail and thus I finished the drawing.

Para finalizar pinté el cabello con marcador negro, y luego le fui dando forma al resto del cuerpo, como por ejemplo pintar su traje, en este caso también de negro, agregué en su mano derecha un bastón que solía llevar en los últimos años de su vida, con un reloj de arena en la punta, a Salvador Dalí le obsesionaba mucho el paso del tiempo. Di los últimos toques en cada detalles y así di por finalizado el dibujo.
