[ENG-ESP] The flight of the Mermaid - Watercolor Drawing

Hello how are you friends, I hope you are very well, today I was a little busy with work but I took time to do something I like and that is drawing, this time letting my imagination go elsewhere out of my mind, it occurred to me draw a mermaid trapped in the rocks, this mermaid has butterfly wings, which are beautiful but very fragile. Wailing on the rocks means not being able to return to the place where you felt safe, but butterfly wings allow you to transform to fly to a new direction, but be careful as they are very fragile, I hope you like it.

Hola que tal amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy estuve un poco atareado con trabajos pero saqué tiempo para poder hacer algo que me gusta y es dibujar, esta vez dejando ir mi imaginación para otro lado fuera de mi mente, se me ocurrió dibujar una sirena atrapada en las rocas, esta sirena posee alas de mariposa, las cuales son hermosas pero muy frágiles. El lamento en las rocas significa no poder volver al lugar donde te sentías seguro, pero las alas de mariposa te permiten transformarte para volar hacia un nuevo rumbo, pero con cuidado, ya que son muy frágiles, espero que les guste.

PROCESS

I didn't know how to start, or what pose to make the mermaid in, I know it should be on top of a rock but I couldn't imagine how, so in the end I made the body in a fetal position, remembering that it is the most recommended position for sleeping since which refers us to the stage of our life in the maternal womb, where we felt more secure, but also this position, if we analyze it, represents vulnerability, that is why I extended my arm as a wish and tragedy to return to the place of safety, like the sea for the mermaid.

No sabía como empezar, ni en que pose hacer la sirena, se que debía estar encima de una roca pero no imaginaba de qué manera, así que al final hice el cuerpo en posición fetal, al recordar que es la posición más recomendada para dormir ya que nos remite a la etapa de nuestra vida en el vientre materno, donde nos sentíamos más seguro, pero también esta posición si la analizamos representa vulnerabilidad, por eso hice el brazo extendido como deseo y tragedia por volver al lugar de seguridad, como el mar para la sirena.

Having an idea of ​​the sketch in general, I began to outline with a very dark pencil, an 8B pencil, so I get all the shapes very well, such as the body, the outstretched arm and finally the wings. I made the wings similar to those of a monarch butterfly, one of the most common and beautiful butterflies that can exist, like every insect, it goes through a long transformation process to achieve its greatest beauty. So I want to imply that there is a process of transition from security to the unknown and new.

Al tener una idea del boceto en general comencé a delinear con un lápiz muy oscuro, un lápiz 8B, así saco muy bien todas las formas, como el cuerpo, el brazo extendido y por último las alas. Las alas las hice parecida a las de una mariposa monarca, una de las mariposas más comunes y hermosas que pueden existir, como todo insecto, pasa por un proceso largo de transformación para lograr su más grande belleza. De manera que quiero dar entender que hay un proceso de transición desde la seguridad hacia lo desconocido y nuevo.

I took the watercolor and began to paint with a very soft and fine brush to make this drawing, it helps me to outline and also to fill in, I started with the hair and then with the wings. I used a very intense orange mixed with red to make the wings and the edges I used black with a bit of blue to give it another hue.

Tomé la acuarela y comencé a pintar con un pincel muy suave y fino para hacer este dibujo, me sirve para delinear y también para rellenar, comencé con el cabello y seguidamente con las alas. Utilicé un color naranja bien intenso mezclado con rojo para hacer las alas y los bordes usé el color negro con un poco de azul para darle otra tonalidad.

To finish, I painted all the skin of the mermaid but not in the same color, but I made a part look like a human and the rest like a reptile, I don't know where I got this from but it seemed like a great idea. So I also drew a bluish background, which can be the sky and the sea, and also the rock. I really like the symbology of things and colors, so I finished the illustration.

Para finalizar pinte toda la piel de la sierna pero no del mismo color, sino que hice que una parte se viera de forma humana y el resto como un reptil, no se de donde saqué esto pero me pareció una genial idea. Así tambien dibujé un fondo azulado, que puede ser el cielo y el mar, y también la roca. Me gusta mucho la simbología de las cosas y los colores, de esta manera di por finalizada la ilustración.

This is how the beginning of a mermaid's flight ended, I don't know what it will become, it all depends on the decision to go back or go forward. I think it happens the same way in our lives.
