ENG-ESP] Van Gogh's Starry Night with colored pencils - La Noche Estrellada de Van Gogh con lápices de colores.

Hello friends, I hope you are well, today I want to share with you a drawing-therapy, this was a technique that was taught to me a long time ago but I used it when I felt that my skills had improved. It is about painting a famous painting but using the tools with which you started drawing, and painting it in the simplest way, I chose Van Gogh's Starry Night and as tools I used my prismacolor colors. To paint it I did not do anything special other than simply mix colors, this was what I did in my beginnings. Little by little you will be able to see that the strokes do not look polished at all but rather seem to be made by a child in his school, and actually that was the technique, I leave you with the process.

Hola amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un dibujo-terapia, esta fue una técnica que me enseñaron hace mucho tiempo pero que la utilizara cuando sintiera que mis habilidades hubieran mejorado. Se trata de pintar un cuadro famoso pero utilizando las herramientas con las cuales comenzaste dibujando, y pintarla de la manera más sencilla, yo escogí la Noche Estrellada de Van Gogh y como herramientas utilicé mis colores prismacolor. Para pintarlo no hice nada especial más que simplemente mezclar colores,esto era lo que hacía en mis inicios. Poco a poco podrán ver que los trazos no se ven para nada pulidos sino que parecen hechos por un niño en su escuela, y en realidad esa era la técnica, los dejo con el proceso

PROCESS

Without any kind of qualms I made a simple drawing for the sketch, but not before admiring the history of the work in detail, Van Gogh's life really touched my heart, and I wish I had had a vision of the future of his works, I think knowing it his life would not have been so long-suffering and full of pain.

Sin ninguna clase de reparo hice un simple dibujito para el boceto, no sin antes admirar detalladamente la historia de la obra, realmente la vida de Van Gogh tocó mi corazón, y ojalá hubiera tenido una visión del futuro de sus obras, creo que al saberlo su vida no hubiera sido tan sufrida y llena de dolor.

If I enjoyed something with this drawing, it was painting the sky, so I went back to my childhood and tried to draw as in those years, without any ability to guide me other than the simple fact of spending the color on the paper and seeing how it turned. This is how I painted the sky and I did each stroke as if they were cars on a highway, one after the other, mixing all the blue colors that I had available.

Si algo disfruté con este dibujo fue pintar el cielo, así que volví a mi infancia y tratar de dibujar como en aquellos años, sin ninguna habilidad que me guiara más que el simple hecho de gastar el color sobre el papel y ver como se tornaba. Así fuí pintando el cielo y cada trazo lo hacia como si fueran los carro en una autopista, uno detrás de otro, mezclando todos los colores azules que tenía a disposición.

Next I was painting the sky using all the blue color ranges without changing the direction of the line, with the light colors I filled in the spaces and with the darker colors I outlined and gave shape to the sky. I also painted the stars in yellow using a circular stroke, as a child I really liked to draw the planet earth, so I went round and round the stroke with the pencil.

Seguidamente estuve pintando el cielo utilizando todas las gamas de color azul sin cambiar el sentido del trazo, con los colores claros rellenaba lo espacios y con los colores más oscuros iba delineando y dando forma al cielo. También pinte las estrellas de color amarillo utilizando un trazo circular, de niño me gustaba mucho dibujar el planeta tierra, así que le daba vueltas y vueltas al trazo con el lápiz.

Then I painted the small town at the foot of the mountains, I imagine that at that time it must have been a beautiful place, and that the houses stood out in the darkness of the night, each home illuminated by people who lived in them. I ended up going over the colors of the sky once more until I finished the drawing.

Luego pinté el pequeño pueblo al pie de las montañas, imagino que en aquella época debe haber sido un lugar hermoso, y que las casas sobresalían en la oscuridad de la noche iluminadas cada hogar por personas que en ellas habitaban. Finalicé repasando una vez más los colores del cielo hasta que di por terminado el dibujo.

FINAL WORK

I was very satisfied, but beyond the result, I was satisfied with the process, I achieved what I wanted, I think it is a very good therapy and if you like, you could do it. In the academies students are asked in their first years to copy a work of their choice, and to put something personal inside it, that would be their own interpretation, those who like to draw I invite you to do so, choose a work of their taste and they paint it with the tools they used in their childhood, be it charcoal pencil, colored pencils or crayons, and most importantly, using a simple stroke, nothing of skillful things, just letting go of their hands and obsessing over the color. This has been my contribution for today, something very personal, I hope you liked it, I say goodbye until a new opportunity.

Quedé muy conforme, pero más allá del resultado, quedé conforme con el proceso, logré lo que quería, creo que es una terapia muy buena y si gustan podrían hacerla. En las academias se les pide a los estudiantes en sus primeros años que copien alguna obra de su gusto, y que dentro de ella pongan algo personal, eso sería su propia interpretación, a quienes les gusta dibujar les invito a hacerlo, escogen una obra de su gusto y la pintan con las herramientas que usaban en su infancia, ya sea lápiz de carbón, lápices de colores o creyones, y lo más importante, utilizando un trazo sencillo, nada de cosas habilidosas, simplemente dejar ir sus manos y obsesionarse con el color. Este ha sido mi aporte por hoy, algo bien personal, espero les haya gustado, me despido hasta una nueva oportunidad.
