Holozing Fan Art - Emberion Wood Carved Necklace [ENG-ESP]

Hello Holozing friends, I hope you're all doing well. This time, I want to share with you a craft I made featuring one of the Holozing characters. I carved a wooden figure based on the Emberon creature, a very cute dragon that perfectly represents the element of fire. For this piece, I used a piece of mahogany wood, which has a beautiful reddish hue, and I think it goes perfectly with the character. I'll show you the process step by step; I hope you like it.

Hola amigos de Holozing, espero que todos se encuentren muy bien, en esta oportunidad quiero compartir con ustedes un trabajo manual que hice con uno de los personajes de Holozing. He realizado una figura tallada en madera, tomando como referencia a la criatura Emberon, un dragón muy tierno que representa muy bien el elemento fuego. Utilicé para esta pieza un trozo de madera caoba la cual tiene un tono rojizo muy hermoso, y creo que va perfecto con el personaje. Mostraré el proceso paso a paso, espero que les guste.

I started by using a piece of wood, the one I mentioned earlier, which is a reddish wood. I sanded it smooth with very soft sandpaper so I could sketch out Emberion's face.

Comencé utilizando una pieza de madera, la que mencioné anteriormente, la cual es madera rojiza. Con una lija muy suave la limpié y la dejé lisa para poder hacer el boceto del dibujo de Emberion ya que el propósito es hacer su cara.

Once I've drawn the silhouette, I begin cutting the edges of the wood with a utility knife. I start with the part that would be the mouth. After that, I switch tools to use the gouges, which are smaller, sharper blades, to mark the rest of the figure on the top of the head.

Una vez que ya he dibujado la silueta comienzo a cortar la madera por los bordes con un cúter escolar. Empiezo por la parte que sería la boca, después de eso, cambio de herramientas, para utilizar las gubias, que son cuchillas más pequeñas y afiladas y marcar el resto de la figura en la parte superior de la cabeza.

Next, I begin to shape what resembles its horns, a part that was very difficult for me to do, since it is difficult in the smaller parts, but with a lot of concentration I was able to do it without damaging the wood in the process.

Seguidamente comienzo a darle forma a lo que se asemeja a sus cuernos, parte que me costó mucho hacer, ya que es difícil en las partes más pequeñas, pero con mucha concentración pude hacerlo sin estropear la madera en el proceso.

Next, I shape the face in the middle, to give it relief and allow each part to be better appreciated. After that, I draw the part where the eyes will be. Once those are drawn, I begin carving the eyes until I remove the wood.

Luego le doy forma al rostro en la parte central, para darle relieve y que se pueda apreciar mejor cada parte. Luego de eso dibujo la parte donde irán los ojos, una vez dibujados, comienzo a tallar los ojos hasta retirar la madera.

Then I add the final touches to polish the details, especially sanding the wood with very soft sandpaper and finally dipping it in protective varnish for a longer-lasting finish and shine. That's how it's finished.

Después le doy los últimos toques par apulir detalles, especialmente pulir la madera con una lija muy suave y por último sumergirla en barníz protector para un acabado y brillo más duradero, así quedó finalizado.

What did you think of the result? I think the choice of wood was the most appropriate; it definitely fits the character and the element it represents, which is fire. Qué les ha parecido el resultado? creo que la elección de la madera fue la más acertada, sin duda va con el personaje y el elemento que representa, el cual es el fuego. He realizado piezas anteriores y esta ha sido una de las que más me ha gustado, nada como lucir este collar, como si fuer aun antiguo talisman.
