Michael Jackson Child Drawing Fan Art [ENG-ESP]

Hello dear friends, I'm back again, sharing the Michael Jackson fever. The movie has broken box office records for a film of this genre, especially after receiving negative reviews from critics. The fandom has spoken, and it's been elevated to the highest level. It's incredible; we're witnessing the rise of an artist for all time, because the connection with him from new generations has been impressive. I've already seen the movie, and while I won't give away any spoilers, I can tell you it's definitely worth watching. That's why I created this new drawing, as it depicts Michael Jackson's childhood, and I wanted to use that as inspiration. Here's my drawing of the best of the five Jacksons.

Hola queridos amigos, estoy aquí de nuevo, compartiendo la fiebre por Michael Jackson, la película ha roto records de taquillas para una película de este género, especialmente luego de que fue evaluada d forma negativa por la crítica, el fandom ha hablado y la ha puesto en lo más alto. Es increíble, estamos en presencia ante un artista de todas las épocas, porque el acercamiento que han tenido las nuevas generaciones ha sido impresionante. Ya pude ver la película, sin embargo no haré ninguna clase de spoiler pero les comento que que vale la pena verla. Es por eso que he realizado este nuevo dibujo, ya que la infancia de Michael Jackson es reflejada y quise tomar esa parte como inspiración. Aquí les presento mi dibujo acerca del mejor de los 5 Jackson.

In the first step, I begin sketching Michael Jackson as a child, when he had an afro hairstyle. Using only a pencil, I draw lines to define each part of his face. The lines don't need to be very dark; a fine-tipped pencil is sufficient.

En el primer paso, continuación comienzo a hacer el boceto de Michael Jackson en su etapa de infancia, donde utilizaba el peinado afro, solamente con un lápiz voy haciendo las líneas pare delimitar cada una de las partes del rostro. No es necesario hacer las líneas muy marcadas, solo basta con utilizar un lápiz de punta fina.

When I start using the pen, I use one with a light gray ink. I use this ink to lay the foundation for my drawing. It's like using a light-tipped pencil to create a contrast between the light and dark colors. Then I begin shaping the lower part of the face, starting with the mouth and then the chin area.

Cuando comienzo a utilizar el bolígrafo, utilizo uno que tiene una tinta que no es muy oscura, la tinta es parecida un poco al color gris, con esta clase de tinta comienzo a establecer la base de mi dibujo. Es como si utilizara un lápiz de punta clara y así hacer un contraste entre los colores claros y oscuros. Entocnes comienzo a darle forma a la parte inferior del rostro, comenzando desde la boca, y luego la zona del mentón.

As you can see, the lines I draw are circular and irregular. I don't define the face clearly; I simply use very light lines to try and give it color. Now, when I'm going to add detail to a part, that's when I use thicker lines, so you can see how the nose gradually emerges. In the same way, I work my way up the drawing until I reach the left eye, and little by little I give it shape, adding more strokes and shadows.

Como pueden observar, las líneas que hago son circulares y accidentadas, el rostro no lo dejo en claro simplemente, hago líneas muy suaves para tratar de darle color al rostro. ahora, cuando voy a detallar una parte, entonces ahí si utilzo líneas más gruesas, así pueden ver como va apareciendo poco a poco la nariz. De la misma forma voy ascendiendo por el dibujo hasta llegar al ojo izquierdo y poco a poco le voy dando forma, agregando más trazos y sombras.

Up to this point, you can see how, line by line, the face gradually gains volume and contrast. This technique is truly brilliant; unlike others I've used before, it feels very therapeutic because the forms emerge from the chaos of the lines. I continue adding the other eye until I complete the innocent and artistic gaze of little Michael.

Hasta este punto pueden observar como línea tras línea el rostro va tomando volumen y contraste. La verdad que es geníal esta ténica, a diferencia de otras que he utilizado antes, se siente muy terapéutico, porque del caos de las líneas van saliendo las formas. Así voy agregando el otro ojo hasta completar la mirada inocente y artística del pequeño Michael.

Here I've taken some close-up photos so you can see each line in detail, and how, all of them joined one on top of the other, they gradually take the desired shape. I'm also slowly outlining the hair to begin filling in that entire area.

Aquí he tomado unas fotos muy cercanas para que puedan observar con detalle cada línea, y como todas ellas, unidas una encima de la otra van adquiriendo la forma deseada. También voy poco a poco delimitando el cabello para comenzar a rellenar toda esa zona.

The hair was mainly covered with the first pen I mentioned. Once I finished the entire drawing, I used another pen with a darker, more intense ink. In the photos, you can see how the hair's tone gradually changes. This darker pen gives the hair more volume. And that's how the drawing was finished.

EL cabello fue cubierto principalemte con el primer bolígrafo que les había comentado. Una vez que terminé todo el dibujo, utilicé otro bolígrafo que posee una tinta más oscuras e intensas, en las fotografías pueden ir observando como el tono en el cabello va cambiando poco a poco. Con este bolígrafo más oscuro el cabello puede obtener más volumen. De esta manera ha quedado finalizado el dibujo.

So far, what do you think of the result? I really liked this image, especially knowing all the suffering Michael Jackson endured in his childhood, suffering he carried with him until his last days. Yet, he never gave back to the world; instead, he transformed it all into art, which is why he's the King of Pop. I hope you enjoyed this illustration. Until next time!
