MONEY ART: Painting of Michael Jackson in the style of Banksy

Hello dear friends, I hope you are having a good weekend, in this opportunity I want to share a brief work that I did and I want to show how I did it. It is a painting made on a ticket, I have used the figure of Michal Jackson, the immortal idol of all time, using a style similar to that of the urban artist Banksy, who is known for his street art which he uses to wear a message. Some say he doesn't exist, others say his art is bland, but all the criticism aside I think he has earned a place in art history. So, in the form of a small tribute to Michael Jackson I have used this style of art, I hope you like it!

Hola queridos amigos, espero estén teniendo un buen fin de semana, ene sta oportunidad quiero compartir un breve trabajo que hice y quiero mostrar como lo hice. Se trata de una pintura realizada en un billete, he utilizado la figura de Michal Jackson, el ídolo inmortal de todos los tiempos, usando un estilo parecido al del artista urbano Banksy el cual se le conoce por su arte callejero el cual utiliza para llevar un mensaje. Algunos dicen que no existe, otros dicen que su arte es insípido, pero a parte de todas las críticas creo que se ha ganado un lugar en la historia del arte. Así que, en forma de pequeño homenaje para Michael Jackson he usado este estilo de arte, espero que les guste!

As I mentioned before, I have many bills that have been outdated in Venezuela due to hyperinflation and the economic crisis. It was so horrible that we have changed tickets more than 5 times. I used one of the ones that I had in better condition and with a pencil I made the silhouette, drawing silhouettes is not difficult and it is something that we can try whenever we want.

Como he mencionado antes, poseo muchos billetes que han sido desactualizados en Venezuela producto de la hiperinflación y la crisis económica. Fue tan horrible que hemos cambiado de billetes más de 5 veces. Utilicé uno de los que tenía mejor conservado y con un lápiz hice la silueta, dibujar siluetas no es difícil y es algo que podemos intentar cuando queramos.

Banksy's style is characterized by simplicity in the designs and also in the colors, he always uses black while the rest of the color is offered by the surface where he paints, which are almost always walls. He rarely uses another color, when he does it is to highlight an important idea. So I start to paint the silhouette in black using acrylic paint and a fine brush.

El estilo de Banksy se caracteriza por la sencillez en los diseños y también en los colores, siempre utiliza el negro mientras que el resto del color lo ofrece la superficie donde pinta que casi siempre son paredes. En pocas oportunidades utiliza otro color, cuando lo hace es para resaltar alguna idea importante. Así que comienzo a pintar la silueta de color negro utilizando pintura acrílica y un pincel fino.

After painting the parts black, I mixed the white color a bit to bring out a gray tone and paint some shadows on the hat and part of the clothes. Finally I painted the parts white like flannel and some light reflections on the edges of the clothes. The hardest thing for me to do was the hands, how difficult it was for me! I couldn't find how to shape it, so I used wood colors to better shape the fingers and then use acrylic paint on top of them.

Después d epintar las partes de negro, mezclé un poco el color blanco para sacar un tono gris y pintar algunas sombras en el sombrero y parte de la ropa. Por último pinté las partes de color blanco como la franela y algunos reflejos de luz en los bordes de la ropa. Lo que más trabajo me costó hacer fueron las manos, qué dificil fue para mi! no encontraba como darle forma, así que utilicé colores de madera para hacer mejor la forma de los dedos y luego por encima de ellos utilizar la pintura acrílica.

This is how this art of Michael Jackson was made on a Banksy-style bill, I wanted to add more details but it would not stay in this style, besides that paper money is difficult to paint, however I like it because the ink that is already printed plus the original designs of each ticket makes the final result look different. Excuse the brevity of my work, but I did it under the influence of the flu that I am going through now and that keeps me a little away, but I decided to paint something because art for me is also medicine that heals the body and the spirit. Así quedó este arte de Michael Jackson realizado en un billete al estilo Banksy, quise agregarle más detalles pero no quedaría en este estilo, además de que el papel moneda es dificil de pintar, sin embargo me gusta porque la tinta que ya trae impresa más los diseños original de cada billete hace ver diferente el resultado final. Disculpen la brevedad de mi obra, pero lo realicé bajo efectos de la gripe que estoy pasando ahora y que me mantiene un poco alejado, pero decidí pintar algo porque el arte para mi también es medicina que cura el cuerpo y el espíritu.
