Pixelart nostalgia is stronger than ever, reflected through games, digital art and even NFTs that are highly sought after. It is also the basis for Polypixels, which is literally build on the concept of pixel space:

On Polypixels you can purchase pixel space, which are 20x20 pixel slots out of 3339 total polypixels and display images with advertising links to your own website or project. Polypixels aims to further the adoption of the Polygon network and hence all payments can only be done in MATIC/Polygon and Polygon projects will get a discount.

Basically, Polypixels is planning to become an advertising hub, by reinvesting revenue into marketing and networking.

The Contest

We are running a double contest around pixelart, where both the artists and the community have a chance to win. This is how it works:

Phase 1: The Pixelart

In phase 1 we want you to see create pixelart which is somehow related to the Polypixels project. This can be anything, let your imagination run free.

If you like, you can animate your pixelart in a GIF, to increase your chances of getting the attention of the voters. This contest will run for two weeks, to submit your pixelart. It ends on Sunday, the 4th of July at midnight UTC.

Rules:

  1. Reblog this post.
  2. The pixelart must be self-made.
  3. The pixelart must be posted in the Pixelart community on the HIVE blockchain.
  4. The post must include the creation process of the pixelart, with some screenshots.
  5. Include a link to Polypixels https://www.polypixels.info/ (you can use your referral link and earn 20% on each purchase).
  6. Use the tag #polypixels for your HIVE post.

Phase 2: The Voting

In the second phase of the contest, the community is voting on all pixelart submissions. We will announce the exact rules for phase 2, when the first phase is over.

Participating in the voting will enter you in a raffle for a chance to win a Polypixel yourself. This way, you can even win when you are not a digital artist.

Our advertising program will constantly drive traffic to Polypixels and to raise awareness of the pixels of our advertising partners and pixel owners. The value of a single pixel slot is 50 MATIC and for a double pixel 85 MATIC. All pixels can be sold via our upcoming market place.

Hey @flauwy - this is a pretty cool project. Just got a couple of questions...

1.) For the pixel art contest - is there a particular size the pixel art should be?
2.) You mention the polypixels are 20x20... but they're 6-sided... is 1 side 20 pixels?
3.) Love the indefinite fundraising for advertising model, and totally get where you would be spending advertising dollars generated, but I am curious to what the advertising might look like... 'check out our wall of sellers' doesn't seem super compelling... the Million Dollar Homepage was very clever and got a lot of attention at the time, but does it draw much attention these days?

Thank you for your interest and questions:

  1. Any size goes. It can be an epic fullHD panorama or a small 350x350px square.
  2. True, Polypixels have hexagon shapes. Here is an example of the smallest version: . It does have 20x20px but the corners are cut off and transparent.
  3. This is a great question. The Million Dollar Homepage got lots of attention when it sold the space but funds went entirely to the website owner while we are using them to create a more sustainable model for long-term advertising that will always drive traffic. Besides finding gems of websites and trade the limited pixelspace on the market, we will add more use-cases over time.

Hey. Sorry to bother you. I sent 15 HIVE to @praetoria-cartel the same day it got canceled, and never got my Hive back. Would you mind checking on this. It’s no rush. Thank you.

Hi, when you look into the @praetoria-cartel wallet https://peakd.com/@praetoria-cartel/wallet you can see that you never sent 15 HIVE or anything else. Also, your own wallet never sent any 15 HIVE out: https://peakd.com/@horstman5/wallet. You must confuse something.

I have refunded all that sent something.
