The Dark Knight verdaderamente introduce el genero de superheroes a la gran pantalla

Alla por el año 2004 se tenia una vision muy diferente a la que tenemos hoy en dia con las peliculas cuya fuente de inspiracion eran los comics, Bryan Singer habia sacadod e la mano de FOX una de las peliculas que empezo a cambiar ese estatus que tenian este tipo de peliculas, muchas productoras no veian ningun beneficio para estas peliculas mas que vender juguetes hasta que a principio de los 2000s salio X-Men, una pelicula que abrazaba la oscuridad y la seriedad de los comics y lo traducia a la pantalla grande, años despues motivados por este exito Warner Bros iba a tener la misma idea con un diferente enfoque, esta vez querian que las peliculas de superheroes aspiraran a muchisimo mas, el reconocimiento de los criticos al mismo tiempo que complacian a su audiencia y quiza ganarse un Oscar.

Con el lema "Batman ya no es un comic" Christopher Nolan creaba una obra atormentada con tintes policiacos y dramaticos que nos guiaba por la historia del caballero de Gotham desde sus inicios mas turbulentos a las ordenes de la Liga de Asesinos pasando por epoca junto al Joker y terminando con su cuspide, final y ascenso, una trilogia que fue planificada meticulosamente, esta genialemente dirigida, su guion es de los mejores de este genero, crea personajes creibles y los desarrolla de tal manera con sus actuaciones que hoy en dia se consideran como las mejores versiones de estos personajes en la pantalla grande.

Hoy quisiera explorar la que considero la mejor de las 3 peliculas de este trilogia, The Dark Knight es viste por muchos como una historia de grises, que no abraza ninguno de los dos caminos naturales de muchas peliculas en las que enfocan y diferencian muy claramente el bueno del malo, Este Batman posee matices asi como sus demas personajes, ninguno tiene todas las respuestas ni todas las soluciones morales y eso hace que la pelicula pueda respirar esos aires frescos en el genero del superheroe.

La pelicula desde un inicio tiene su genero bien establecido, tenemos un robo a un banco por parte de una banda de payasos, desde el primer momento nos dan pistas sobre la personalidad final del Joker, ¿sera vengativo? ¿maniatico al punto de asesinar a todos? y pues la pelicula subvierte nuestras expectativas con la revelacion de que en realidad es un personaje que se desenvuelve en la anarquia, un tema recurrente durante toda la pelicula es que la mayoria de las personas estan a solo un dia malo de ser tan desequilibrado como el, y en este punto quiere demostrar que lo importante no es ser el mejor criminal, si no el mensaje que se da. Es impactante, vistoso y nos introduce al villano de una forma unica con los pandilleros hablando de como Joker es un criminal de los mas prestigiosos.

Hay mucha dualidad en esta pelicula tanto en los personajes como en la forma en la que su director interpreta la cinta, tenemos a Batman como un representante de la moral y del bien en general, un vigilante super equipado con el objetivo de salvar a Gotham de los criminales del bajo mundo y lo mas curioso del caballero de la noche en esta pelicula es que se ve puesta a prueba su regla de no matar incluso a criminales insalvables como el Joker, es un constante reto para Batman inlcluso llevar por el camino del bien al nuevo comisionado Harvey que desde el inicio se ve como un implacable ser de justicia sin temor a romper las leyes por un bien mayor.

Hablando de Harvey Dent, el personaje es quiza la version mas prolifica del personaje que se ha visto en la pantalla grande, un oficial en principio recto que poco a poco y de la mano del Joker y Batman se pone como el centro de atencion de ambos personajes, un foco en donde hacer ver sus ideas y reflejarlas, si Batman logra potenciar el lado justiciero de Dent Gotham podria ver un cambio real mientras que si el Joker termina por corromperlo, podriamos ver un nuevo villano en las calles, de cualquier forma, toda la trama vamos viendo las diferentes estrategia de los dos frentes pero sobretodo vemos a Batman reaccionando al Joker, y es que con la actuacion de Heath Ledger vemos la version post moderna definitiva de este personaje.

El Joker es quiza el punto fuerte de la pelicula, ocupa poco espacio en la misma pero sus accciones resuenan mucho mas y sus estrategias son efectivas y a la vez oscuras, desde el inicio nos dejan en claro que este es una fuerza antagonica casi imparable, en cada ocasion tiene un plan para salir de pie y burlar a Batman, sus pasos son mas ruidosos que los de toda la fuerza de las mafias mas poderosas de Gotham. La interpretacion que luego le valio el Oscar postumo a Heath Ledger es una llena de poder y presencia, su Joker refleja anarquia y caos con un solo objetivo, demostrar que la locura que llevo al Joker a ser un terrorista violento es simplemente producto de el estado de la sociedad misma.

Toda maldad tiene que tener una contraparte, y el Batman de Chris Bale se presenta como un objeto inamovible para el Joker, las reglas y la moral de Bruce Wayne quiza funcionen como una buena imagen a los ojos de Jim Gordon pero tanto para la policia de Gotham como para los demas criminales son solo codigos vacios que en cualquier momento pueden dejar y volver a retomar, Batman lleva unas reglas bien estrictas, un codigo del que no puede separarse y durante toda la pelicula exploramos que pasaria si uno de esos villanos cruzara el limite, por supuesto toda la interpretacion de Bale y su quimica con Alfred nos hace un poco mas enfasis en este conflicto interno de Bruce Wayne y a lo largo de la pelicula vemos situaciones en las que el personaje poco a poco tambien se corrompe y va cruzando limites entre un justiciero para Gotham o un hombre capaz de hacerlo todo por brindar orden.

La cuenta con actores tan potentes y unas actuaciones que son de primera clase que es aun mas impresionante ver como los efectos especiales aunque sean espectaculares no se roban la atencion de los personajes, son escenas que provocan impacto y dan enfasis a lasituacion pero el drama real y lo que de verdad interesa de la pelicula es el como se desarrollan sus personajes y su trama de decisiones imposibles, la puesta en escena es magnifica teniendo planos abiertos con sets y escenas genialmente construidas y otras escenas en donde se nota la asfixia y se deja a los personajes hacer lo suyo.

Lo que nos dejo el Caballero de la Noche

Es dificil hoy en dia con tantas superproducciones de superheroes una mas espectacular que la otra imaginarse lo que significo esta pelicula para su genero y para el cine alla por los años que se estreno, muchos pronosticaban que esta produccion era el comienzo de una generacion de peliculas de superheroes y creo que en eso podemos estar de acuerdo viendo a los Avengers y a todo Marvel abriendose paso por laindustria del cine con Iron Man unos años despues, The Dark Knight marco quiza otro tipo de cine, uno mas serio dirigido a otro tipo de publico que quiza Warner Brothers no supo aprovechar en su momento, uno en donde si bien se tiene la etiqueta de ser una adpatacion de una serie de comics, construye una identidad propia con la misma fuerza que 30 años de comics, una que espero no podamos olvidar rapidamente..

With the slogan "Batman is no longer a comic book" Christopher Nolan created a tormented work with police and dramatic overtones that guided us through the history of the knight of Gotham from its most turbulent beginnings at the orders of the League of Assassins through time with the Joker and ending with its peak, a trilogy that was meticulously planned, brilliantly directed, its script is one of the best in the genre, it creates believable characters and develops them in such a way with their performances that today they are considered the best versions of these characters on the big screen.

Today I would like to explore what I consider the best of the 3 films of this trilogy, The Dark Knight is seen by many as a story of grays, which does not embrace any of the two natural paths of many films that focus and differentiate very clearly the good from the bad, this Batman has nuances as well as other characters, none has all the answers or all moral solutions and that makes the film can breathe those fresh airs in the superhero genre.

The movie from the beginning has its genre well established, we have a bank robbery by a gang of clowns, from the first moment we get clues about the final personality of the Joker, will he be vengeful? maniacal to the point of murdering everyone? And then the movie subverts our expectations with the revelation that he is actually a character who thrives on anarchy, a recurring theme throughout the film is that most people are just one bad day away from being as unbalanced as he is, and at this point he wants to show that the important thing is not to be the best criminal, but the message that is given. It is shocking, eye-catching and introduces us to the villain in a unique way with the gang members talking about how Joker is one of the most prestigious criminals.

There is a lot of duality in this film both in the characters and in the way the director interprets the film, we have Batman as a representative of morality and good in general, a super equipped vigilante with the goal of saving Gotham from underworld criminals and the most curious thing about the Dark Knight in this film is that his rule of not killing even insurmountable criminals like the Joker is put to the test, It is a constant challenge for Batman even to lead the new commissioner Harvey on the path of good, who from the beginning is seen as a ruthless being of justice without fear of breaking the laws for the greater good.

Speaking of Harvey Dent, the character is perhaps the most prolific version of the character that has been seen on the big screen, an officer in principle straight that little by little and hand in hand with the Joker and Batman is placed as the center of attention of both characters, a focus where to see their ideas and reflect them, If Batman manages to enhance the vigilante side of Dent Gotham could see a real change while if the Joker ends up corrupting him, we could see a new villain in the streets, anyway, throughout the plot we see the different strategies of the two fronts but above all we see Batman reacting to the Joker, and with the performance of Heath Ledger we see the definitive post modern version of this character.

The Joker is perhaps the strong point of the film, he occupies little space in the movie but his actions resonate much more and his strategies are effective and at the same time dark, from the beginning we are made clear that this is an almost unstoppable antagonistic force, at every opportunity he has a plan to get out on his feet and outwit Batman, his steps are louder than the entire force of the most powerful mafias of Gotham. The performance that later earned Heath Ledger a post Oscar is one full of power and presence, his Joker reflects anarchy and chaos with only one goal, to show that the madness that led the Joker to be a violent terrorist is simply a product of the state of society itself.

Every evil has to have a counterpart, and Chris Bale's Batman is presented as an immovable object for the Joker, the rules and morals of Bruce Wayne may work as a good image in the eyes of Jim Gordon but both for the Gotham police and for other criminals are just empty codes that at any time can leave and return to resume, Batman carries a very strict rules, A code that can not be separated and throughout the film we explore what would happen if one of these villains crossed the limit, of course all the interpretation of Bale and his chemistry with Alfred makes us a little more emphasis on this internal conflict of Bruce Wayne and throughout the film we see situations in which the character is also gradually corrupted and is crossing limits between a vigilante for Gotham or a man capable of doing everything to bring order.

The film has such powerful actors and performances that are first class that it is even more impressive to see how the special effects although spectacular do not steal the attention of the characters, are scenes that cause impact and give emphasis to lasituacion but the real drama and what really interests the film is how the characters develop and their plot of impossible decisions, the staging is magnificent having open shots with sets and scenes brilliantly constructed and other scenes where the suffocation is noted and let the characters do their thing.

What The Dark Knight left us with

It is difficult today with so many superhero blockbusters one more spectacular than the other to imagine what this movie meant for its genre and for the cinema back in the years that it was released, many predicted that this production was the beginning of a generation of superhero movies and I think we can agree on that seeing the Avengers and all of Marvel making its way through the film industry with Iron Man a few years later, The Dark Knight marked perhaps another type of cinema, a more serious one directed to another type of public that perhaps Warner Brothers didn't know how to take advantage of at the time, one where although it has the label of being an adaptation of a comic book series, it builds its own identity with the same strength as 30 years of comics, one that I hope we can't forget in a hurry. .
