[PT-BR/EN] My First 35 km by Bike: A Wet Adventure

avatar

Hello, friends!

Today, I want to share with you the exciting journey of my first 35 kilometers by bike through the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro. It was an experience that mixed challenges, natural beauty and an unexpected touch of rain.
I started my ride leaving my residence in the Taquara neighborhood, heading to Parque Olimpico, where there is a deck on the edge of the Barra da Tijuca lagoon, which I would like to see.
Arriving at Parque Olimpico, I found that the bars surrounding the access to the deck were open and I didn't think for days about invading the place. I cycled to the deck where I realized that it is not as beautiful as it is, as it is abandoned. I took a photo and started the rest of the pedaling.

I took my standard route to the Avenida das Americas interchange, close to the bandeirantes playground, returned and headed towards Arroio Pavuna, where I would continue to Curicica to return to Taquara.
When I was just 7 kilometers from my residence, the first drops of rain began to fall. The gray sky opened and suddenly I was cycling in heavy rain. I chose not to take shelter and so I decided to continue.
My clothes were soaked, and the road had pockets of water. But at the same time, the rain brought a feeling of renewal. The drops hit my face, and I felt part of nature, part of the city.
I arrived at my destination, exhausted and wet, but with a smile on my face. The 35 kilometers were a personal achievement. And in the end, the rain didn't ruin the adventure – it made it even more memorable.

So if you're thinking about getting on your bike and exploring your city, go ahead!
Your city has a lot to offer, and who knows, maybe you too have a story to tell about this ride.
To the next!

I remember the Olympics in Rio very well. The road race was very exciting. Especially the women's race where the leader of the race had a serious crash.

It looks like a nice area to go for a ride. Even despite the rain!

Cycling is something very pleasurable for me, and I only see how much I pedaled, in the end. I start programming a route, which can be modified for various reasons. Keep pedaling and you will soon surpass this mark.

35km sounds like a long journey but I guess it wasn’t boring at all as you were out to explore. I look forward to also exploring my city on a bicycle.🙂

Exactly, my friend! I usually cycle most of the way on the street, close to cars. Therefore, I need to be attentive and in addition to having this attention, it has the advantage of always exploring new paths.

Hello Webgnar! Thank you for your help in stopping curating SkateHype posts. Honestly, I don't know how this configuration was made and I couldn't remove it. As for the SkateHive curation trail, I've been following it for a while. Anyway, thanks for the tips!

another thing i noticed in your account is that you put liquid HIVE into savings. this does not generate you the 20% so it is better to just power up HIVE. HBD Hive Backed Dollars is what earns you 20%. Hive Power earns you at least 3% so thats better than putting HIVE into savings

Oh ok! Thanks for this tip! I thought Hives would also have the same performance as HBD. I'll take them out of savings! Thank you!

I meant that the rain at the end of the ride was a great reward.

ahhh, okay, did you capture some photos of rain?

I couldn't do it, because the rain was very heavy and I don't trust the water resistance on my phone.
But my last ride was through a coastal region and I made some photos. I'll do that tomorrow.
