Luck - Because bad luck is not always bad! - Review [EN] // [ES]

Hello to all lovers of good movies and television, happy start of the week! This weekend while I was looking for options to watch with my little one, I came across this animated movie, which I had not even heard of, but it certainly gave me a pleasant surprise, as well as my Mathias. An original Apple TV movie produced by Skydance Animation, released in August 2022 and that will surely please both adults and children.

The story focuses on Sam, a young orphan with very bad luck, who upon reaching her majority, and never having found a permanent home, is forced to leave the orphanage, study and work to be an independent woman, not easy for such a hapless girl, as her life can become a complete disaster. She leaves at the orphanage a little friend Hazel, another orphan waiting to be adopted and not suffer the same fate as Sam, Hazel believes in all the good luck charms you can imagine, and in fact has a collection, which will be complete only when she finds a penny of good luck. After a bad first day at work, Sam runs into Bob, a lucky "Irish" cat, with whom he shares a piece of panini and who accidentally drops his lucky penny.

Sam, thinking of Hazel, takes the lucky penny, not realizing that it is literally a lucky penny, and finds that her unfortunate daily routine changes completely, becoming the luckiest girl she could have ever imagined. Until, bad luck strikes and she loses the penny, returning to her ordinary life, and ending the day finding Bob again, who returns to where they met in search of the lost penny, starting a chase and thus the adventure of which Sam and Bob are the protagonists as they follow him to the land of good luck, to also find that there is a land of bad luck, where Sam probably came from hahaha.

A production on par with any Disney movie without a doubt, fun, with a plot that captivates you from the beginning, probably due to the fact that it touches on the theme of an orphan girl, let's say it touches the heart a bit. It also shows us a bit of the beliefs of many, the superstitions, who doesn't have them? Bob, for his part, who claims to be an Irish good luck cat, is not the cat with the best luck there can be, because like many he has a boss El Capitan, who Bob does not like at all and who represents a blocking stone when trying to recover the famous penny, an object on which a good part of the plot ends up centering, making us also find Jerry, Bob's friend and accomplice in In this adventure, Marv the optimistic boss of Bob and Dragon the extroverted and giant director of the world of good luck, maximum expression of luck in many cultures around the world.

The film touches on a very interesting topic, such as good and bad luck, and in it they comment that it is random, yes, like the lottery, personally I think they are right, because we do not always have the best luck, and on the other hand, bad luck is usually a small season in general. Another thing that is emphasized and that leaves us as a final message (typical of animated films), is that even when we have bad luck, we can make the best of it, because even when we are going through a bad time, we can meet people or situations that change our lives in a positive way, as I always say, even the worst that can happen to us, we can get something positive.

Another thing I love about this movie is the addition of fairy tale characters, such as the dragon, the unicorn, the cute bunnies, and the twist of placing a black cat as a good luck cat, when in almost all cultures they are seen as a bad omen or bad luck. In addition to having an excellent cast of voice actors to represent each character, highlighting among them and although with supporting roles, Jane Fonda and Whoopi Goldberg.

Computer animation is undoubtedly here to stay and revolutionize the way we watch cartoons, making these fantasy worlds look very realistic at times, which appeals to both adults and children and which undoubtedly they did very well in this film. A good story, attractive characters with good character development, a great message and a happy ending, as any good animated film should be. If you ask me, I would watch it again a few times, as if I were a little girl, I give it a 9.5/10, just because I thought it seemed a little bright to the images in it. And I invite you to see it if you have the chance, because you will enjoy a good story and a great movie.

Both Good Luck and Bad Luck is needed to function . J just felt Sam had too much off it and deserved a Lucky Penny all her Life too. I'm so glad she took the Cat with Her in the End 😌🥰🥰🥰

Amo

Gracias por la recomendación ¡La veré! 🤗💖
