Memorable Hive meetup on 30/8 - and a big call to action

It was another successful Hive meetup with friends in the commercial city of Aba (Nigeria) on 30th August 2025. This meetup we will never forget in a hurry because it led to the creation of something big - and a wake-up call to all those that attended. First of all, I have been hosting meetups for a while and below are the two recent ones:

While we have had Hive gatherings previously, this one we did on 30th August will certainly stand out because of the result that came off it. I'll like to share these with you.

1 million Hive Power - How

I carefully choose the team of the meetup which was how to raise 1 million Hive power as a group within the next two years. First of all, I explained that this is possible if we have like-minded people working as a team. A group of people to uphold some of the best behaviours for every Hivean. Interestingly, I have 3 examples from our group to prove that it is possible. The 3 examples are me and my two earliest recruits below:

I have been consistent on Hive since 2022. Bought 3000 Hive which was powered up and have never powered down. Current HP is 11,600.
@luchyl has been consistently creating content and building since 2022 and has never powered down. Current HP is 4,090.

3 @marajah like luchyl is another recruit of mine that has followed my footsteps and never powered down since 2022 when we all came over to Hive as a team. Current HP 2300.

Highlighting these 3 users at the meetup was a powerful way to drive home the point. Between now and the next two years, it is possible to raise builders - 500 hive users that will consistently create content and mostly power up their stake. If we could get 500 persons with an average 2000 HP, that's 1 million HP. So yes, it's entirely possible to raise 1m hp within two years from a team of consistent creators, active recruiters and passionate stakers.

Everyone that attended the meetup appreciated this analogy and bought into the vision. Just watch what we are doing in the next few months.

Staking hive as a business

Another thing that was greatly encouraged was the importance of staking or powering up Hive. I stressed this as a strategy towards raising 1m HP. I encouraged the friends to power up regularly starting from September HPUD. I also told them that @happycustomer is already powering up everyday and that all could try out powering up small Hive daily. Check the screenshot below.

As a result of the motivation from this meetup, we have many of the friends join September Hive power up day. Click this link to see the friends that participated. Each person was encouraged to power up at least 10 hive to get their badge too. And I challenged some to consider powering up at least 1 Hive everyday for the entire days in September.

The ultimate goal is that with many friends powering up consistently over a long period of time, it is possible to reach and suppose the goal of 1m HP. We will be working towards that goal and encourage everyone to join. Always treat powering up Hive as serious business and honestly consider power up 1 Hive everyday for as long as you can hold that position.

Another great thing that resulted from the meetup is the creation of a new community - Hive Growth Hub (HGH). This idea of a new community has been in our plans for a long time. But at the meetup, there was need to kickoff. The HGH community would be a place to showcase what you are doing personally or as a group to bring value to Hive. Your efforts should touch all or some of the 4 pillars of HGH - Networking, Onboarding, Staking, Engagement.

Towards the end of the meetup, I gladly announced that the community will kickoff on 1st September 2025. We did kick off and you could see our community introduction post here.

One of our pillars is onboarding newbies to Hive and providing them with solid mentorship. About mentorship, I really appreciate the effort of @threespeak for creating Learn to Earn courses for newbies. This makes it easy for onboarded friends to learn about Hive in bits and be rewarded for completing each course. That project is called #journeyofahivean

So we are seriously going to get involved in Hive marketing with a goal of getting new friends to join and start their journey. I made this big 10 feet by 6 feet banner which the new friends could use a background to take some of the first pictures to announce the start of their journey on Hive. Our first new class of newbies to start #journeyofahivean is on Monday 8th September, 2025. Watch out to join in welcoming the new friends from that date.

I missed it this time but I felt present going through this post, it was huge. From the birth of HGH to powering and the four things that should be posted in the community. It's very important to engage in them especially onboarding. Another meetup plans? Waow!!

It was really a historic meetup, we are yet to kickoff a lot of planned activities yet. Yes another meetup will happen this September and it would be huge. This is like a revolution and every effort and all forma of participation would be appreciated. Big things start small, isn't it?
