Our First Hive meetup powered by SpendHBD - You are invited!!!

You are invited to our very first Hive meetup ever since we came on board the SpendHBD project. The meetup is happening within the next 48 hours - precisely on Tuesday 1st April, 2025. This is an amazing moment for all Hive users in the Enyimba City of Aba, Nigeria. By the way, this is not the first of such meetups. I have been organizing them in years past. Before I go into the preparation details for this very meetup, lets take a look back at the most recent one.

Next one is on Tuesday, 1/4/2024

Its close to 1 year since the last meetup - since July 2024. The reason I have not held another one was that I have been looking for a real project to back up our Hive meetups and possibly go beyond just meeting with friends. I am so happy to discover SpendHBD and now we are going to make real impact with our meetups. So its time to do it again with a practical use-case.

This particular meetup as usual is going to be held at my office. I am happy to announce that Happy Customer Supermarket will be the host this time around. Its going to be a great time to see our Hive friends in the city and beyond. It would be time to network, learn and also spend HBD for instant cash discounts. If you will be available that day, we gladly invite you to join this meetup. A lot of preparations have gone underground to ensure a success of the event.

Preparations for the meetup

Meetups like this take a lot of effort and resources to put together. From my experience, I already know this one. I have been running around to ensure that purchase and branding of the materials we will use for this meetup is completed ahead of the meetup time. Here are a few of the branded materials that I have put together.

I went to our local market to buy coffee mugs. This will be shared to those that will attend the meetup as gifts. The mug has to be Hive branded to make them reflect the occasion and project being promoted. Members of the shokin team supported this with 3 HBD and it went a long way in these purchases and preparations. Take a look below at images of the mug.

I also printed Hive Tshirts. I have printed some Tshirts before now that some of our friends bought. So this time, I printed 1 dozen of black tshirts which I took to a printery for branding. You can see below how the Tshirts look like after being branded.

Next in branded materials is the SpendHBD face cap. Remember that SpendHBD is the pilot project of our group and we have been involved big time. So SpendHBD is the project that will sponsor all our hive meetups going forward. That is why I printed 10 pieces of the face cap for members that do not have it already. Below are the caps.

I printed Hive exercise books some time ago and I have around a dozen left. That too is going to be given to our members as part of the branding for the meetup. Below are the exercise books.

There are other aspects of the preparations that I hope to complete tomorrow. I will design and print a big Hive banner which we will use for the group photographs. I also hope to design and print guest tags that each attendee will wear. These and a few other things would be taken care of tomorrow (Monday)

Beyond just branding

The meetup is not just about the branded gear above. It would be a huge opportunity for networking. Some of the newest friends would be meeting older Hivers for the first time. Such physical connections are vital for Hive promotion and opportunity to collaborate in other things. But there is more!

One of the most important aspect of this meetup is to share ideas, tips and presentations that will help attendees grow their Hive business. We want to grow a strong network of Hive users and adopters. So learning the best practices in content creation and web3 ecosystems would go a long way in fostering a close, successful group of Hivers. So the meetup is a great opportunity to learn something new about Hive!!!!
