Old Fashion Mascleta Firework - Engraellet - 5 Years Fallas being a UNESCO Intangible Heritage

avatar

It has been probably now over 12 years since I saw one of those Engraellet Mascleta Fireworks here in Valencia and I was urging to see one again but always found out about them too late. They're super special and wanted to finally record one again but this time with a decent camera.

The traditional Valencia Mascleta is using big firecrackers connected with each other by a fuse string hanging above the ground. But the Engraellet are heavy weights, stuffed with black powder and placed directly on the ground. And they're connected with a Traca, a very Valencian specific firework string.

This video was recorded with this phone.

Why is Valencia so crazy for fireworks? Read here on our travel blog!

Seems odd, to have fireworks during the day, for nothing more than the noise.
That noise is the one MAIN thing that turns me off about Fireworks in the first place, still, it is interesting @for91days

Fireworks in Valencia are strange (but also one of the best ) they have night time fireworks but Valencians in general would alway prefer these noise fireworks. And they can get crazy intense:

Yes, they can be off putting BUT when you experienced one in person. There is no way going back, hehe!
