RE: AteXoras 🍻 Pub Gathering - Relax, relax and relax, but a new beginning is being forged!

Our state border has just opened which means we'll have more and more people coming into Queensland bringing Covid19 with them.

😅 !LOL

I'm doing a gut health course currently where I'm learning about the (gut) microbiome--the 38 trillion bugs in our bellies--and what it's going to take for me to be truly healthy. I'm so grateful for everything I'm learning and I can see it's going to be a process. All worth it in my mind for good health is the foundation I need to improve my running, have energy for adventures, grow my business and creatively express myself on Hive and other platforms.

If you post about this, I wanna read. Ping me if I forget or let us know here on the pub the link for it.

I have started 2022 changing some stuff about my body too. Going well so far. The motivation is super!

I'm so glad that I live with my love (Brad) and 900km from some of my other, most beloved peeps is a long way.

Not far ago I just did 900km (on way) in a straight driving trip for vacations... then back a few days later.

Life, hopefully, will get better because the incentive is higher and higher, the more science finds new ways to deal with the damn diseases.

How many calories do you guys do on those runs... out of curiosity?

I am sure whatever they are they might melt any !BEER !WINE or even a !PIZZA

Stay !ALIVE girl and don't worry about the complexity of things about blockchain. Eventually, these become easier and more standard to understand. Everything changes too fast for us to be able to catch all kinds of evolutions. I share and learn about what I like. That's the reason I wanted to encourage some others to contribute with topics to be explored on the Pub, so I or any others help expand, and then I was even proposing a little reward as incentivisation. Might not be much now, but as the Pub expands, it will become bigger and bigger.

Thanks for all the tokens @forykw! 🙏
I definitely enjoy my beer, wine and pizza in the online pub! 😃😁

I will eventually post one or more things about gut health and increasing energy + supporting the immune system. I don't know how long it will take me. For now I can tell you, if you like reading, check out "Fiber Fueled" by Dr. Will Bulsiewicz (from the U.S.) & "The proof is in the plants" by Simon Hill (from Aust.) or search for their names and you'll find their Instagram accounts and websites for more videos and other content formats.

Basically, the short version is this:

When it comes to diet alone (i.e. excluding the important things like good quality sleep, reducing stress, moving the body, etc that also contribute to better health and vitality) the higher the consumption of whole foods that come from plants, the better.

So regardless of what your diet looks like now if you can (slowly, gently) increase the volume and diversity of plants you're eating--and thereby decrease the amount of ultra processed foods and animal products you eat--you're moving in the right direction.

You don't have to become vegan (unless you want to). You don't have to give up beer, wine and pizza (unless you want to 😂). But you do, we all do, need to move towards eating more plants as part of our every day diet.

Note: Not a doctor. Please do your own study. But this is a summary of what the majority of really good nutritional research for decades has been pointing to: plants 🌿🌱🍃

Nice to know. I think I knew that part already. It’s true that simpler nutrients help on a much healthier diet.

And I love plants too. And fruit… and meat, and fish… and beer and wine and processed foods and… damit… so hard when you have little u don’t like 🤣 !LOL

Keep dropping by with the cool stuff.

Speaking of calories... A 5km easy run seems to burn about 350 Calories. A couple of recent 12km harder faster runs I did burnt 807 and 950 Calories on each. I am not sure if my Watch uses the wrist heart rate monitor in its calculations but I am thinking it must, as the calories stats seem vary more than just the time and distant. Wrist base heart monitors are not very accurate.

Either way we don't use the calories stats much, we just try to eat as clean as possible.

I had been trying to improve my diet for years, unsuccessfully until I met Caroline. Now slowly have been improving things one step at a time. Coca-Cola and beer, to coffee, and now less coffee and more green smoothies. A bit of a shock to your taste buds but you get used to it.

I also work in the food industry I know what stuff there adding to all the processed foods.

We're looking at adding more veggies and less meat to eat meal and actively looking at ingredients lists on food packaging because in Australia they have to list the ingredients in order from highest to lowest percentage. If the first two items aren't real foods or there are too many ingredients that we don't know what the hell they are, we try for an alternative.

Yeah, adding more things that grow in the land, does make a huge difference over just a few days. People just need to try. Also, it regulates hunger a lot more than I expected, and I am not a huge appetite person. Just like food in general.
