A different hunt

IMG_2476.jpg

The morning was cloudy, after a drizzling night that gave the town a winterish look. Very few people were out in the streets but I felt like walking a bit and headed towards the historical centre. I like walking after the rain, everything looks clean and purified. Although I am very familiar with that part of the town, there was something that I have never noticed before.

Bicycles.

Lots of them.

Locked on almost every available pole on the sidewalk. Maybe it was the rain and people didn't use them this day or it was just too early in the morning but the fact is that I had never noticed them in such abundant numbers!

I don't know why I got so surprised. Nafplio is a flat town and using the bike is not something unusual. There is even a public bicycle scheme and you can find docked bikes in many places. But this morning all I could see was bicycles!

OK and a few charming details of the urban environment that caught my eye too :)

But the main subject of my walk was all those parked cycles! I got obsessed with them! And I started to hunt them down and shoot them on the spot, photographically speaking of course :)

The chairs of the closed restaurants gave a melancholic (if not miserable) vibe to the streets but I skipped over them quickly and continued my bicycle hunt :)

Every Wednesday @tattoodjay is inviting us to get out for a short walk, get some shots of what we can see and make a #wednesdaywalk post about it. This is my walk from yesterday. I hope you enjoyed it :)

Happy walks, to all of you :)

It's so interesting how something like an empty table with tilted chairs can evoke a feeling, isn't it? This is why I love art. :)

Nice theme!

Happy #wednesdaywalk!

Sometimes it can be something even smaller but that's the thing with feelings, they don't follow reason and that's why they are irreplaceable!

Thanks :)

isnt it funny how you can go for a walk somewhere you have often been and suddenly notice something you may well have seen before but they never caught your eye, and it made for such a cool post

Thanks for joining the Wednesday Walk, its my pleasure to host it and see all the posts each week from all around the world, including yours, if you have time visit some of the other walks this week there are so many interesting ones

bicycles!
haha I had a bicycle day as well today!
I've got an electro bicycle that was ordered for my Dad;)
now it's still in the box, and I didn't see it, but I hope it will be good for him to go to our garden💚
are they popular in your place?

Greece in general, is not bicycle friendly but in this particular town that I am in, they are quite popular indeed!

I hope your dad will enjoy his new one :)
