As normal as usual

The thunder was as deafening as it was unexpected. The weather had been very nice all the morning and the people walked around in shorts and sandals. The sound of it, though, brought back very unpleasant memories. It is only a few months since the destructive flood of October and the town hasn't heal its wounds yet. On the surface everything looks as normal as usual but on the bottom of the sea there are cars, motorcycles and every kind of machinery and products that were floated away from the destroyed stores. The flood was so intense that it was only thanks to good luck that we didn't have any casualties.

This time it was just a passing storm that lasted a few minutes. So I took my camera for a few after-rain shots!

The beach is ready (or almost ready) to welcome the summer vacationists, as well as the locals that still want to swim there. It looks kind of weird with that gloomy weather but actually it was pretty warm. I like to take pictures of sun-beds when there is no sun though, it is rather surreal and kind of amusing :)

Did you notice the palm tree behind the painted tree on the wall?
I only saw it during the editing! Maybe I could have done something more interesting with that coincidence but, even by chance, it turned out pretty fun!

If you have missed my last life updates, I am back in Crete and this is the town of Sitia, at the eastern part of the island. One of the smallest "big" towns of Crete and definitely the less touristic. But nevertheless charming and adorable!

The fishing boats are a favourite subject for photography but this time, with all those clouds on the sky, the pictures are different than usual, less mediterranean and more moody!

Soon I found myself to the commercial part of the port, not really busy but it gives the opportunity for another kind of pictures. I took a brief look and returned to the fishing boats, the palm trees and the street that leads to the parking lot.

I am always disappointed when I see pictures like this and so very little action on it. Everything about your photos is artistic and well thought out. I bow down to your ability to make true magic with your lenses.

Of course, you take great shots wherever you go, but, the boats, the water, everything nautical really excels.

The flowers? Thank you@! #alwaysaflower loves to see them spread far and wide. It colors my world to see them.

I hope you have a great Wednesday and keep posting the beauty!

I agree with @dswigle as I was scrolling through the pictures I was thinking, "Wow Stefanos really knows how to capture a place. I think when I go to Greece to visit I will feel like I have been there before."
