I'll See You In Another Life Brother
I look at those pictures and I just can’t believe that it was me that took them. So many years have pass, so many things have happened. It has been a wild journey since my younger self took those shots till today. So many steps of the journey that I had to take in order to become the one I am now. Actually those are his photographs. I am a different person now and a different photographer for sure. I am trying to remember who I really was back then but it is so hard. My archives give me a hint but it is not enough and my memory is not as strong as I would like.
I was in my thirties and everything looked possible. I had a business that provided for me and at the same time was covering my creative needs (more or less), I was living at the heart of a city that I loved and I had my friends to be there for me, as an ideal extended family. The future looked promising and nothing worried me too much. I secretly believed that I was a genius photographer (I wasn’t) and that anyone who does’t acknowledge that simple truth, is obviously malicious and spiteful (some of them were indeed, some others had every reason to dispute me). I was mostly living my life without longterm plans (I still do that in another level) and never doubted that I will always find my way around problems.
I had things sorted out and I just had to be consistent on the route that I had taken. An unexpected burst of anger for an insignificant reason, was the negative breakthrough that made me think that I was probably on the wrong route. The dream life that I had created for myself was slowly suffocating me and it was time to find a way out before I start hitting my head on the walls of my amazing studio!
For one more time I took my decisions intuitively and in a few months I had left my studio and I had started a new carrier as a travel photographer, replacing one dream life with another! I wonder though, if I had a magical time capsule allowing me to write a letter to the younger version of myself, what I would have said. Apart from the obvious, buy BTC as soon as it starts trading :), what would have been my advise as an older and wiser (hopefully) version, to my younger and confused self?
I took those shots in 2005-2006 as part of my collaboration with the magazine "Votre Beauté Maison". I edited them in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic. I may have used a couple of them in older posts in hive, during the last six years.

Είναι μια ατάκα από το σήριαλ Lost που μου άρεσε και την χρησιμοποίησα μεταφορικά, μιλώντας και καλά στον νεότερο εαυτό μου. Αλλά δεν νομίζω να το κατάλαβε κανένας :)
Ναι καλές είναι. Ως ένα σημείο το απολάμβανα κι'όλας και τα λεφτά ήταν πολύ καλά αλλά δεν κόλλαγα σ'αυτό το περιβάλλον, ήμουν σαν την μύγα μες το γάλα :)

Αυτό είναι μια πολύ καλή ερώτηση που την έχω κάνει κι εγώ στον εαυτό μου. Φαντάζομαι ότι θα μου έλεγε:
Μπράβο ρε, έχεις γίνει πολύ καλός φωτογράφος αλλά γιατί δεν μπορείς να βγάζεις ούτε τα μισά λεφτά απ'όσα έβγαζα εγώ, που δεν ήμουν και τόσο καλός;
Αλλά μπορεί να κάνω και λάθος. Είναι από τις ερωτήσεις που δεν πρόκειται να μάθουμε ποτέ την απάντηση :)

Exceptional images, massive (successful) work with composition and light.
Some people call it pseudo-scientific but I've found this test useful: https://www.16personalities.com/free-personality-test it's for free, and results for free. It was a relief to discover I am not the only idealistic, dreamy, impractical person, and my life isn't a row of mistakes but a (weird) journey shaped by my personality.

I just did the test, quite interesting. Even the questions can make you realise things about yourself. I wouldn't say that it is 100% accurate but there are many parts of the "verdict" that resonates with me and it is always helpful to be reminded once in a while that all brains are not working the same way :)
Glad you've found the test is useful in some way. Probably, you are transitional in some of the four scales that why the result of the test doesn't look that precise.
As I understand, the goal of the questions is to define how much you are an extrovert/introvert, how much you live in mental space (imagination, theories) or sensory world, how much you are spontaneous or prefer planning, how much you follow rules and logic or tend to prioritize feelings. All these 4 scales are real and they define 16 combinations. Thus, that's definitely not astrology but it's a question if you can really use the results of the test in decision making. Personalities are fluid and people are adaptive, these come first... Nevertheless, all reflections about self are useful in some way.

Yes, I read your reflection. And I think you are still you. The choices you have made will surely guide you towards your best version. Growth comes from discomfort. They are not the photographs of that thirty-something boy, they are your photographs and they always will be. You have more experience with you now.
