In a mountain far far away

IMG_5573.jpg

I saw the first snow of the season this morning! Not that it snowed in the town but when I looked far away at the peaks of the mountains, they were white! I am sure that a lot of you, living in northern countries with heavy winters, will laugh with me saying that I saw snow from that distance. But most of the years that's as close as I get to snowfall :)

Meanwhile the pigeons looked more friendly than usual and fairly cooperative when I tried to take a few pictures of them. Maybe the lack of excessive numbers of tourists made them more calm and relaxed!

In a flowerbed at the port, the lavender is blooming like it is spring time. Someone should tell her that it is winter but then again if she is having a good time blooming, who am I to spoil the fun?

On another bed a cute cat is giving our dog the eye in an attempted to scare him away.

Relax kitty, he only wants to play :)

Snow in a mountain far far away, tourists returning to their homes and one more sunny day for the people, animals, birds and trees of our little town!

That painted face on the wall (pic below) is all over the town. I must have seen it at least in a dozen spots. I wander why someone is so eager to leave his/her mark in so many places.

Cats seemed very willing to pose for me too. Although most of them when they realise that I am dealing with them, they come close to pet them :)

Now don't ask me how it comes to see snow and bananas on the tree within a few minutes but that's the reality here!

And the plane tree is refusing to drop its leaves yet. Maybe next month :)

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic .

I think I know now what camera I'm buying at the end of the bull market 😉

It's a solid choice. I bought it as a second camera and I ended up using it more often than my primary one!

As long as this bull market actually comes :)

Wow! What a varied and beautiful post! First I think that seeing snow in the distance would be something that would make me very excited and the truth is that it looks extremely beautiful, but that pigeon seemed too elegant to me to go unnoticed. 🥺 I also confess that posts with photos of cats call me, I just adore them, I have heard that yellow cats tend to be a little less affectionate, so there could be a justification for that face. 😂 What a bunch of bananas! It looks quite autumn-like. Thanks for the visual spectacle, I confess that I fell in love with those cats. ❤️ Greetings.🫂

i saw the snow for the first time this winter yesterday. and it kinda feels weird. having a temperature of +10C for new year for 2 years in a row does not feel right. and i do like the snow if it will not turn to mud in a day, like it probably will here tomorrow.

I was expecting that you should have had your share of snow earlier. It definitely looks like winter has been delayed this year as it did last year too. But it did came after all!

It will sound silly, but I had no idea that you get snow in Greece 🙄 Are there any ski resorts too?

I like the contrast of winter in the back and autumn-like photos from that place. Great!

Thank you for sharing!

Haha yes, we do have snow and we do have ski resorts too :)
Northern Greece has a lot of mountains and a lot of cold weather!

Nafplio though, has a very mild winter as many more parts of south Greece and the islands. But even here it may snow for a day or two, every 2-3 years :)

Thank you for stopping by and for your support!

The contrast between the snow-capped peaks in the distance and the everyday life of your town is truly beautiful and striking.

It's interesting to see how the absence of tourists can affect the behavior of local wildlife. And the lavender blooming out of season is such a beautiful reminder of nature's unpredictability and resilience.

Thank you for sharing these slices of life from your town. It's a beautiful blend of nature, animals, and small-town charm, all captured through your lens!
