Me too

A couple of hours ago I saw a post by @jarvie about his trip to Croatia and more specific the second day of it, in Dubrovnik. I have visited this beautiful Balkan country a long time ago but I have never shared any pictures of that trip. I didn't have a dslr with me and I never thought that any other kind of pictures matter. But then I read that @jarvie took the pictures of his post with a cellphone, and they are really great. So I decided to give to my old photos a second chance!

In the last picture you can see the device I used to take them! I am sure you'll be a little surprised with that :)

We arrived in Dubrovnik early in the afternoon and till the sunset we were wandering around in this fairy-tale scenery!

The next morning we said goodbye to the medieval beauty of Dubrovnik and went on Mljet, a calm, scenic island of the Croatian Adriatic. It is supposed to be the same island in which the main character of an ancient Greek epic poem spent 7 years imprisoned by a vicious nymph and there is even a cave named after him!

This island of picturesque coves, warm sea and intoxicating scent of pine trees was the home of the nymph Calypso, who held Odysseus captive for seven long years. Although he grieved for his beloved wife Penelope during the day, each night Calypso would bewitch him, promising him immortality if he stayed with her. He was set free only after Zeus intervened. Calypso reluctantly heeded the order from the master of Mount Olympus, and had a raft built for Odysseus with plenty of food and wine, which would enable him to return to his home in Ithaca. Once her lover left, Calypso supposedly died of grief.

Of course we went to pay our respects :)

After a lot of very creative signs we arrived in the location. We didn't actually entered the cave but the view was breathtaking!

And that's the amazing piece of equipment I had with me!

I've always fancied Dubrovnik but it's not yet been ticked off our list. Looks like a photographers haven!

Now that is an accolade! Maybe it should be awarded an Oscar?!
