Vain hope

IMG_7194.jpg

I started my usual seaside walk today but I turned around halfway. I just couldn't handle the hot sun. As winter felt like autumn, it turns out that spring feels already like summer. The news confirms it. Wild fires all over the country, temperatures over 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit) and we are still in April.

I think it's time to change my routine into the summer mode, with early morning walks and indoor activities in the noon. I was hoping that spring would be more mild and we would have more hours to enjoy a pleasant sunshine but it was vain hope.

The beach is once more, if not crowded, at least busy and the sea is no longer a privilege for the winter swimmers. I haven't swim yet this year but I suspect it won't be long until I put swimming in my every day schedule. With the last swim of 2023 just after Christmass, it would probably be the smallest winter break I have ever had. And if the weather keeps acting like that, I might as well not stop at all next winter!

At least the plants look all happy and flourishing. After all, it is their time of the year and they seem to be more tolerant than myself in some excess heat :)

Even the prickly pears look lovely with all those new leaves and fruits popping up, under the brilliant sun! I almost felt the urge to caress them but I know better than that. As tender as they look, their prickles can still be very painful :)

Since the chances are that you can't read Greek, the carving on the leaf above says "MY PRECIOUS SOFIA", one of the many expressions of love, manifesting on every possible (or impossible) surface :)

The last three pictures are from a tree that enchanted me this year. I have already written a post dedicated, almost exclusively, to it but I couldn't resist to this beauty and took a few more pictures today :)

Have a lovely Sunday and a wonderful week ahead!

The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 850D with an EF-S 18-135mm lens attached. I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic

All the pictures and the words are mine.

it is getting really hot everywhere bro. It is so much hotter this year for sure. and yes no spring to speak of.

Great pics, fun to see people out and take a break. I love that boat in the first pic. So picture-perfect. I can imagine it inside a bottle :)

Are those green chillies in the photos toward the end?

It was pure luck that this boat passed by when I was there! Haha, it is indeed the kind of boat you would imagine in a bottle :)

No they are not chillies, although they do look like them a bit. They are the seeds of an acacia tree!

Thank you for stopping by!

With temperatures above 30 °C, it is an easy decision to bathe in the sea/ocean. Especially if you are close to it. But if your body is hot, then go into the sea/ocean (or into any colder water) slowly and carefully, and not suddenly. Stay safe and stay healthy.

Please, we want a photo of you swimming... LOL.

How is the postcard project going? Because what I see here is wonderful.

Haha, I avoid paparazzi when I swim :)

The first drafts of the postcards turned out very nice, thank you for asking. I have now to get confident enough that they are going to be sold and find the money to do it properly. They have to be done in offset printing which means at least a few hundreds items and a substantial cost.

😍

WOW... Bello eso.

Have you thought about setting up something like a digital stall first? It saves you unnecessary expenses.

Even after you could expand the business from postcards to NFTs.

Thanks :)

I am not sure what you mean with "digital stall". As for NFTs, I know roughly what they are but I haven't give them any time to really understand them.

The following statement might sound weird from someone that earns crypto from blogging but I am very old-fashioned and very reluctant to adapt innovating technology :)
