Wednesday walk and a life update
It was 5 weeks ago when we took the ferry from the island of Crete, where we live the past 8 years, to Nafplio, the hometown of my partner and a beloved destination!
It was meant to be a 10 days trip (more or less) but life got in the way in the most unexpected way and we are still here! I am not complaining, it is a beautiful place in any occasion but the last two and a half weeks was far from what we had in mind as a pleasant vacation!
The first 10 days were great, if you scroll back at my blog you can see many of the wonderful things we have seen, so we decided to extend our stay for a few more days. The extension was great too but when we were about to start packing I started feeling not so well. Long story short I got diagnosed with covid and I spend the next week confined in a room waiting for the symptoms to fade away.
Exactly one week later it was my partner's turn to start feeling unwell and we had to relive the same drill vise versa! I wasn't completely well either but I had to take care of @traisto now and pay back all the care that I received the previous week!
Now I am completely well and Fotini is almost there too. Hopefully next week she'll be well and strong to travel back home! Till then I have the time to take a few more pictures from this lovely place. I took those a few hours ago as I treated myself with a walk at the old part of the town. The many and blooming bougainvillea make the scenic scenery even more appealing and the walk even more fulfilling!
I often wonder, how many times I can make the same walk and take different and beautiful pictures each time. In this place I think that the answer is many, many times!

So sorry to hear both you and Traisto have bene hit with covid,and it messed up your plans, I do hope you both are feeling better and fully recovered soon
but such a beautiful place for sure staying a bit extra isnt so bad is=n such a beautiful place, the lovely colors of the bougainvillea, the cool properties, so much to see I would love doing photo walks there

Oh yay, the unexpected Covid vacation. Covacation? I'm not sure. At least you're in a nice place for it! Certainly looks nice, anyway.
Hopefully the farm hasn't fallen apart by the time you return!

The farm, right. We have a man that waters the most sensitive plants but the truth is that there is a ton of work that wasn't done. But what to do? Health is first!
well not the best reason to extend your trip. Especially that the place is really beautiful and you have to stay in.

Oh goodness, you BOTH got COVID! I don't know whether it's a bummer you got it in separate weeks (better to get together?) or good (you can look after each other). Either way, at least you are okay and a week's recovery doesn't sound so bad. I'm tryng to avoid it here.
The bougainvillea looks gorgeous and really highlights the warm summery vibe of the photos. I love that deep medieval type yellow of the buildings, it's one of my fave colours.

Λατρεμένο το Ναύπλιο, δεν το βαριέσαι ποτε. Δυστυχώς οσες φορές το επισκέφθηκα ηταν ειτε σε κοινωνικη υποχρεώση (γαμος), είτε σε διημερο. Το αρχικα προγραμματισμένο 10ημερο, πολυ το ζήλεψα. Τον κοβιντ καθόλου! Χαχα
Ναι είναι πολύ όμορφο και όταν το πετύχεις και χωρίς πολύ κόσμό είναι μαγικό!
So glad for the life update and glad you are better and @traisto is on the mend. You are right those bougainvillea are stunning. I feel that way with the Desert Botanical Garden. I go every week and take pictures each time. The light is different and the plants are growing and blooming and they are different each time too.

Covid is no fun but If you going to extend a trip, glad it is such a beautiful place so you can enjoy it.

What a stunningly beautiful little town @fotostef. The bougainvillea are just wow!!! My Mom always had bougainvillea bushes and climbers at home. Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry I didn't get to read in time to know what was going on with you! I found it strange that you had long breaks between posts and that @traisto hasn't posted for over two weeks but I figured after the holiday there was a lot left to do on the farm and work all day.
I'm sorry you had this misfortune to make covid now. My wife and I also had it at the end of 2020 and it was very unpleasant and a long hard recovery. I hope you had a milder form of the illness and are well now!
I so love your photos of Nafplio and I know you can take a lot of different ones from the same repeated walk in the same place. I have never seen bougainvillea so beautiful and big!
