La Maldición de Ifigenia | The Curse of Ifigenia | La Fogata

Nuevamente reunidos entre amigos con las comunidades Mundo Virtual y Hive Pizza, disfrutando de una noche de estrellas luminosas, sentados junto a La Fogata. He aquí una historia de amor, traición y engaños que llevaron a la perdida de un reino y la peor muerte para sus monarcas. Espero sea del agrado de todos.

☀️ La Maldición de Ifigenia

El pueblo de pastores y agricultores, que ocupaban una amplia extensión de tierras fértiles más al sur de la isla de Cretonia y con costas frías en la zona oeste, se tuvieron que preparar para hacer la entrega de su reino a los pueblos guerreros del norte. Se encontraban bajo la regencia del Rey Sagenio I, quien había sucedido a su padre, Calixto El Eterno, el cual murió después de un largo, fructífero y pacífico reinado. Su muerte tomó a todos por sorpresa, ya que nadie esperaba que faltara a pesar de su avanzada edad, que rondaba ya casi los 120 años.

Sagenio I había accedido al trono ya con bastantes años encima y para su desgracia, no había podido concebir un primogénito varón, por lo que la sucesión del trono recaía en su hija mayor, la Princesa Entelysia. Pero la condición para mantener la paz con el reino del norte, era que si no había heredero varón, debía efectuarse un matrimonio entre la aspirante al trono y un varón de la nobleza del reino del norte. Esto significaba que ahora el reino del sur pasaría a formar parte de el de norte, situación que los habitantes rechazaban.

A pesar de haber tenido con su esposa, la Reina Adriana, 28 hijos, la desgracia siempre acompaño a Sagenio con la perdida de su primer hijo varón, el cual desafortunadamente falleció a los tres días de haber nacido. La alegría del nacimiento de su primer hijo, pronto se esfumó y tras muchos problemas con su consorte, trataron por todos los medios de concebir un hijo varón, lo que llevo a Adriana a embarazarse 27 veces más.

Nunca más pudo concebir un varón y se decía que Sagenio, había sido maldecido por una mujer, cuando en sus años mozos de príncipe, la había despreciado por no pertenecer a la nobleza. Se trataba de Ifigenia, una hermosa mulata traída como esclava en una incursión que había tenido Calixto con los pobladores del norte. Al salir victorioso, la esclava se incluyo como parte del botín conseguido y de inmediato, fue asignada a la servidumbre del palacio, siendo aún una niña.

Se cuenta que Ifigenia, cuando alcanzo la pubertad, fue amante de Sagenio, quien ya contaba en esa época con 24 años. Aunque no esperaba nunca pertenecer a la realeza, si había conseguido de Sagenio la promesa de que si tenían un hijo juntos, este lo reconocería y lo haría parte de la familia real. Pero Ifigenia nunca llego a quedar embarazada, a pesar de que lo intento de muchas maneras y según se creía, fue Sagenio quien se encargó de hacer todo lo necesario para que Ifigenia no pudiera concebir.

Poco antes de la boda real entre Sagenio y Adriana, el príncipe había tenido un altercado con la mulata, quien dolida por el futuro matrimonio del cual apenas se estaba enterando en ese instante, le insulto y menosprecio como hombre, al no poder dejarla embarazada. Sagenio, en tono burlón, le había dicho a Ifigenia:

—"Una cosa es que yo sea poco hombre para no poder dejarte embarazada y otra es que lo soy tanto, que he podido disfrutar de tus favores sin permitir que tus negros anhelos se hagan realidad".

Ifigenia quedó devastada con la confesión, ya que nunca imagino que Sagenio la hubiese engañado con un supuesto amor y una promesa que, sabía, nunca tendría que cumplir. Quedo sola en la habitación después que el príncipe le dijo todo esto y, mientras pensaba en como un hombre podía hacer que una mujer con la que tuviera relaciones no quedara embarazada, su corazón se rompió aún más, cuando, de entre las sombras, emergió Adriana.

Eran amigas, hasta ese día. Adriana le confesó que todo había sido obra de ella misma, quien, asistida por los hechiceros del reino, había urdido el plan de pócimas y brebajes que le impedían quedar embarazada. Ifigenia había confiado ciegamente en ella, que incluso la motivo a mantener el romance con su futuro esposo. El engaño tuvo tales proporciones, que Adriana se aprovechó de Ifigenia para que mantuviera a Sagenio entretenido con sus favores y así evitar se fijara en cualquier otra mujer.

La había impulsado a entregarse a Sagenio cada vez que este lo deseara y le había enseñado muchas maneras de hacer que solo la prefiriera a ella, con la promesa de que si quedaba embarazada, ella personalmente se encargaría de hacer que su hijo fuera aceptado en la familia real. Fue un día antes del matrimonio, que Ifigenia lanzo la maldición sobre la pareja y entonces desapareció.

Después de muchas mentiras, tretas e intentos de engaño, los guerreros del norte se habían presentado para reclamar el derecho de hacer valer los acuerdos y a fijar la fecha de la boda entre el varón designado por ellos y la Princesa Entelysia. Mientras todos estaban en la playa, en tensión por la llegada de los barcos del norte, Sagenio se había lanzado al vacío desde la torre más alejada del castillo, por lo que nadie se dio cuenta de su suicidio. El haber perdido el reino por la maldición de la mulata, fue demasiado para él.

Adriana se dirigió a la playa y consumida por el dolor, confeso allí mismo, delante de todos y de rodillas, todo lo que había hecho. Luego, ingirió un potente veneno y cayó en el agua para morir avergonzada. Les había dicho que después de confesar y morir de esa manera, la maldición proferida por Ifigenia terminaría en ese instante y todo volvería a la normalidad. Lo que no sabia Adriana, era que había sido engañada por Ifigenia y el reino caería de todos modos en poder de los guerreros del norte.

Here is a story of love, betrayal and deceit that led to the loss of a kingdom and the worst death for its monarchs. I hope it will be to everyone's liking.

☀️ The Curse of Ifigenia

The people of shepherds and farmers, who occupied a wide expanse of fertile land further south on the island of Cretonia and with cold coasts to the west, had to prepare to surrender their kingdom to the warrior peoples of the north. They were under the regency of King Sagenio I, who had succeeded his father, Calixto The Eternal, who died after a long, fruitful, and peaceful reign. His death took everyone by surprise, as no one expected him to pass away despite his advanced age, which was almost 120 years old.

Sagenio I had acceded to the throne when he was already quite old and, unfortunately, he had not been able to conceive a first-born son, so the succession to the throne fell to his eldest daughter, Princess Entelysia. But the condition for maintaining peace with the northern kingdom was that if there was no male heir, a marriage must take place between the pretender to the throne and a male of the nobility of the northern kingdom. This meant that the southern kingdom would now become part of the northern kingdom, a situation that the inhabitants rejected.

Despite having 28 children with his wife, Queen Adriana, misfortune always accompanied Sagenio with the loss of his first son, who unfortunately died three days after his birth. The joy of the birth of her first child soon faded and after many problems with her consort, they tried by all means to conceive a son, which led Adriana to become pregnant 27 more times.

She was never again able to conceive a son and it was said that Sagenio had been cursed by a woman when in his younger years as a prince, he had despised her for not belonging to the nobility. It was Ifigenia, a beautiful mulatto brought as a slave in a raid that Calixto had had with the settlers of the north. When he was victorious, the slave was included as part of the booty and was immediately assigned to the palace servitude, while still a child.

It is said that Ifigenia when she reached puberty, was a lover of Sagenio, who was already 24 years old at the time. Although she never expected to belong to the royalty, she had obtained from Sagenio the promise that if they had a son together, he would recognize him and make him part of the royal family. But Ifigenia never got pregnant, although she tried in many ways and it was believed that it was Sagenio who was responsible for doing everything necessary so that Ifigenia could not conceive.

Shortly before the royal wedding between Sagenio and Adriana, the prince had had an altercation with the mulatto, who, hurt by the future marriage of which she was just finding out at that moment, insulted and belittled him as a man, for not being able to get her pregnant. Sagenio, in a mocking tone, had said to Ifigenia:

"It is one thing for me to be unmanly so as not to be able to make you pregnant, and another that I am so unmanly that I have been able to enjoy your favors without allowing your black longings to come true".

Ifigenia was devastated by the confession, since she never imagined that Sagenio had deceived her with a supposed love and a promise that, she knew, she would never have to keep. She was left alone in the room after the prince told her all this and, while she thought about how a man could make a woman he had relations with not get pregnant, her heart broke even more when, from the shadows, Adriana emerged.

They were friends, until that day. Adriana confessed to him that it had all been her own doing, who, assisted by the sorcerers of the kingdom, had concocted the plan of potions and concoctions that prevented her from getting pregnant. Ifigenia had blindly trusted her, which even motivated her to maintain the romance with her future husband. The deception was of such proportions that Adriana took advantage of Ifigenia to keep Sagenio entertained with her favors and thus prevent him from looking at any other woman.

She had urged her to give herself to Sagenio whenever he desired and had taught him many ways to make him prefer only her, with the promise that if she became pregnant, she would personally see to it that her son was accepted into the royal family. It was one day before the marriage, that Ifigenia cast the curse on the couple and then disappeared.

After many lies, trickery, and attempts at deception, the northern warriors had come forward to claim the right to enforce the agreements and to set the date for the wedding between their designated male and Princess Entelysia. While everyone was on the beach, in tension over the arrival of the northern ships, Sagenio had thrown himself into the void from the farthest tower of the castle, so no one noticed his suicide. Having lost the kingdom to the curse of the mulatto, it was too much for him.

Adriana went to the beach and, consumed by pain, confessed right there, in front of everyone and on her knees, everything she had done. Then she ingested a powerful poison and fell into the water to die in shame. She had told them that after confessing and dying in that way, the curse that Iphigenia had put on her would end right then and there and everything would return to normal. What Adriana did not know was that she had been deceived by Ifigenia and the kingdom would fall into the hands of the warriors of the north.
