I would like to introduce a game named Horizon Zero Dawn which is an action-adventure role-playing game developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The story of this game shows a future where survivors fights with robotic creatures. It's cinematic clips are too awesome that I'd prefer to watch the cinematics rather than playing it.

It has flashpoints that offer moments of emotional choice which means its upto me how the core character expresses her personality and this is what I like the most about this game.

Today I'll talk about the intro and the very first mission which is called A Gift From the Past.

You may watch the video above to see the gameplay yourself and I bet you won't regret watching the gameplay.

After selecting text language and speech & movie language in English, there started the cinematic intro which gives a good hint about the core character.

The Intro

Screenshot (5).png

The intro cinematic started with a beautiful snowy village where there's a wooden house in between some trees and there were some wooden made targets near the house as well.

Screenshot (6).png

There came Rust out of the house and he is an important character of this game although he'll not be play as my character.

And... wait wait,

Screenshot (8).png

Screenshot (7).png

Who is that cute baby? Is the baby a child of Rust? No no, this baby was given to Rust to taken care of. And BTW, Rust is an outcast from the society there and as this baby is gonna be risen by Rust, so this baby will be an outcast as well.

Rust hasn't named the baby yet but it's time that the baby gets a name and the baby is a SHE.

Screenshot (9).png

Screenshot (10).png

Carrying the baby on the shoulder, Rust left his house and started walking forwards.

Screenshot (11).png

Screenshot (12).png

Screenshot (13).png

Screenshot (14).png

I was watching the beautiful animated scenes from the cinematic while Rust was talking alone addressing the kid that today he'll speak her name. Normally it would be the mother who declares the name but the kid had no one but Rust with her.

Screenshot (15).png

The whole village would attend and Matriarchs perform the ritual but Rust was outcast so does the kid as she was with Rust.

Screenshot (17).png

Screenshot (19).png

Screenshot (20).png

I was fascinated by the fantastic scenes. The core developers did well with it.

Screenshot (23).png

Screenshot (25).png

Then Rust showed us the machines that were out there instead of animals. Rust was saying, "It is one thing to hunt a beast, another to hunt a machine".

Screenshot (26).png

Rust was telling the kid that she must be humble and respect the power of the machines, and Rust will teach her all of this for survival.

Screenshot (27).png

Screenshot (28).png

Screenshot (30).png

Screenshot (31).png

They walked a long way from their village to speak the name of the kid.

Screenshot (32).png

Rust was surprised to see High Matriarch Teersa.

Screenshot (33).png

While Rust was kneeling before Teersa, Teersa forbid him and said its nearly time to speak the name of the kid.

Screenshot (34).png

Screenshot (36).png

Then Rust took the baby on the edge of the mountain and said her name. Rust screamed the name ALOY.

Screenshot (37).png

Screenshot (38).png

Baby Aloy seemed so happy to be there on the edge of the mountain.

Screenshot (39).png

Then there came another Matriarch named Lansra who was not happy with naming the baby and she was about to throw his her anger on Rust while Teersa started fighting with her.

Screenshot (40).png

And Rust was talking to Aloy.
Rsut: I know my duty to them - and to you. I'm here, and wherever you go.

Screenshot (41).png

The cinematic came to an ending.

Screenshot (43).png

I got a fantastic main menu of the game right where the cinematic ended.

...
...
...

Screenshot (44).png

Six years later, the baby Aloy grew to a cute young kid.

Screenshot (45).png

Aloy now had illusion in the face. As an outcast, she couldn't mix with other kids or peoples except only Rust. She was watching other kids helping their mothers.

Screenshot (46).png

Aloy saw that a kid plucked berries for his mother and the mother was very happy about it.

Screenshot (47).png

So Aloy plucked some berries as well and went to that mother with the berries in search of some love maybe.

Screenshot (48).png

Screenshot (49).png

But that mother with other peoples left the place immediately cause Aloy as an outcast was there close to them.

Being sad, Aloy started running fast.

Screenshot (50).png

Screenshot (51).png

And then she fell in a cave.
Aloy screamed for sometimes and tried to call Rust but it was not the place from where someone can hear Aloy screaming.

A Gift From the Past

Screenshot (52).png

First main quest A gift from the past started from that moment.
I had to find a way to get out of the cave.

Screenshot (53).png

First I had to go into the cave to get a way to get out of here so I started running towards the deep of the cave. The cave was creepy and dark, I'd be scared if I was Aloy but this little kid was not scared a bit.

Screenshot (54).png

After running for sometimes, I found a rotten corpse and the corpse had a strange lighting device on its ear and I had to examine it.

Screenshot (55).png

Screenshot (56).png

Screenshot (57).png

Aloy grabbed the device and placed it beside his ear and something colorful appeared and Aloy got frightened.

Screenshot (58).png

So she threw the device and moved away a bit.

Screenshot (59).png

Screenshot (60).png

Then after thinking for a moment, she regained courage and grabbed the device again and placed it near her ear to see what really happens.

Screenshot (61).png

Screenshot (62).png

Aloy could see lights everywhere. Actually this device shows almost everything around in details. And this is the gift from the past.

Screenshot (63).png

With the help of this device, I was finding my way out and I found a bunker door which was locked.

Screenshot (64).png

Screenshot (65).png

Then I've found a holo lock that I used to unlock the bunker door.

Screenshot (67).png

After returning to the door, it was unlocked easily.
Now I had to find a way out but I was curious of this device that shows a lot of things around, a lot of memories of a lot of peoples of the past.

Screenshot (66).png

Screenshot (68).png

There were corpses where I could interact with the device and some recordings would pop out instantly which was from a long past.

Screenshot (69).png

After examining some logs of some bodies, I kept looking for a way out and suddenly I could hear Rust calling for Aloy.

Screenshot (70).png

Screenshot (71).png

Then after getting to the exit point, Rust grabbed Aloy out of the cave.

Screenshot (72).png

Rust was saying that such places are forbidden, they are for metal world. Then Aloy replied that she fell in and Rust saw the device attached beside the ear of Aloy and asked for it.

Screenshot (73).png

But Aloy ran away staying, "NO". Rust understood that Aloy was already very fond of the device so he didn't ask for it again but he was mentioning that Aloy needs to know how to survive in the wild if she's going to sneaking away from the home like this.

Screenshot (74).png

Then Aloy followed Rust to home but starting tomorrow, she'll learn to hunt.

And voila! Chapter complete.
The next chapter will be coming soon.

SEE YOU.

The cinematics of this game are really good. I've seen better ones, but I have to admit it's impressive. Still, I need more information to see if it's worth playing. So I will wait for your next post.

The storyline is also good and offering moments of emotional choice is what I liked the most about this game.

I'll let you know when I publish the next post about this game and it'll be right from where I ended the first post.
