I AM BLACK AND I AM PROUD

Why can't I say it aloud?
Is it because I am supposed to be ashamed,
Should I now walk around with sagged shoulders?
No, my black is flawless.
I've never been this Proud of my skin.
My skin never felt so good,
Was I not used to it?
I can't remember when I loved dis shade so much.
My color is dark and lovely,
It's so attractive.
My black is loud, resilient, and hopeful.
My black don't crack.
My black skin is my heritage.
My heart is Africa.
My black skin is glorious.
My beauty is in shades of melanin and light.
When the sun shines my skin glows with a smile because it absorbs the sun's rays.
I am black without apology.
I'm beautiful and comfortable in my skin.
Sometimes I seat down and look at people who have the same complexion as me I feel happy because I would have been jealous if wasn't dark-skinned.
"Black is beautiful"
It always makes my head turn.
I am a proud black woman and not can make me ashamed of it because it can't be bought in the market.

Proudly dark skin.
