No basta con saber algo / It is not enough to know something
A mis cuarenta años he logrado aceptar que la época en que vivo no es suficiente saber algo.
En mi mocedad, el conocimiento era poder. Sabía de matemática, literatura o química, poseía información y eso me daba una ventaja sobre aquellos que no. Sin embargo, en la actualidad, el conocimiento es solo el punto de partida. Lo que realmente importa es qué hacemos con ese conocimiento.
En palabras de Don Bosco:
No basta saber las cosas, es necesario practicarlas.
Ya no basta con saber algo, hay que ser ese algo. Hay que internalizar el conocimiento y convertirlo en acción. Nosotros, para destacar en una competitiva sociedad, debemos ser la persona que vive, respira y encarna el conocimiento que posee.
Y esto obedece a una simple razón, todo accedemos a la información, pero la diferencia entre todos es nuestra capacidad para actuar en relación con la información que poseemos.

In my forties, I have come to accept that in the age in which I live, it is not enough to know something.
In my youth, knowledge was power. I knew mathematics, literature or chemistry, I possessed information and that gave me an advantage over those who did not. Today, however, knowledge is only the starting point. What really matters is what we do with that knowledge.
In the words of Don Bosco:
It is not enough to know things, it is necessary to practice them.
It is no longer enough to know something, it is necessary to be that something. It is necessary to internalize knowledge and turn it into action. In order to stand out in a competitive society, we must be the person who lives, breathes and embodies the knowledge we possess.
And this is for one simple reason: we all have access to information, but the difference between us all is our ability to act on the information we possess.
