Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze

This time I bring you another game of the adventure and platform genre, called Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze. This game is well known since it has a retro version (arcade version), but this time I'm going to talk about the Nintendo Switch version. The same had as official release date in the market on May 4, 2018, which was developed by Retro Studios and distributed by the company Nintendo. The story of this game tells us the plot of some monkeys called Donkey Kong, Diddy and the rest of his friends which must save Kong Island which was conquered by the Frigomads which froze it and forced the monkeys to go to a nearby island, but these will not stay with their hands tied and try to rescue their home and that is where all the great adventure that gives us this game begins. If we compare it with the original story of this game is quite different because our protagonist Donkey Kong is the antagonist, who kidnaps a woman and this must be saved by Jumpman who is controlled by the player. I played the original version a long time ago and that's what I remember of it, where the Nintendo version is still very good and fun, so I decided to bring you this one today.

The gameplay of this game I found very good and enjoyable the truth, a game that stands out in this aspect as it gives us a great fun, so I should mention that quite enjoy this game and that is not the video games and favorite genres. The difficulty of the game is good, where we see that the game gives us a high level of difficulty that we want to complete the entire game is always the goal of the player, but it is not impossible either. The controls of the game is quite easy to use, just like the retro or old school games, where the character can jump, roll to kill his enemies, besides hitting the ground to make our enemies dizzy. The best thing about this game is that we have the opportunity to enjoy the company of friends who will help us to pass the different tests we see in the game. These friends are Dixie, Diddy, Cranky and Funky. The game contains a good amount of levels and from what I have heard there are more than 60, but I am not sure because I have not yet advanced to the end of the game as I have been quite difficult but I still think I have the chance to do it because I have been very close.

Among the most interesting modes that we see is the story mode and a time trial mode, the latter is where there is a certain amount of time where we must complete the missions or objectives that we are given to achieve the goal proposed in the game. Another thing that is important to mention is that each level is different one from the other, which is something really good, since in each phase we will find something different, both in the design of the spaces and in the difficulty. In short, I can tell you that the gameplay of this game is very, very good, just like the original version, since this game is entertaining, very fun and every time we want to continue advancing in the story to get to the end of the game and complete each of the missions that are imposed on us in it.

The game is pretty decent in terms of graphics, I do not think it is the best but it is fine. The textures of the characters are very well worked, as well as the objects that make up the different environments found in the game. The lighting is quite improved with the original and it was already very good. I also liked the animations because they look spectacular for this type of game, as well as the visual effects that are beautiful from my point of view because they abound in the game and look good. While the technical part is good, the artistic part I do not know what is left behind and the character designs look good with some improvements compared to the original game and as I have mentioned repeatedly, the original game was a true work of art as far as games are concerned. The fluidity of the game is good, since it runs at 60 FPS and where the textures load quickly, nothing that I really should complain about the graphics or at least something that is bad, because overall the game is very good in this aspect.

As for the sound I can tell you that it is improved with respect to the original game as this was already more than good, so I can tell you that this part of the game is as good as the previous section and even a little better. The sound effects are very good, so many that are given at the time of throwing things, the voices of the characters in the adventure, the environmental effects are also heard really well. The soundtrack is the best of the game, where we have a very good variety of musical themes for each of the levels and very consistent with the situation we are living. The soundtrack of the game was in charge of David Wise who I can tell you that he did an outstanding job both in the original and in the version of which I am talking about in this opportunity.

In conclusion, we are in the presence of a game that is quite demanding but at the same time very fun and entertaining, where we can spend hours and hours playing. The gameplay is very good, with the variation of difficulty in each of the levels, as well as the game modes that we have available. The controls are very easy to use and the game mechanics are not difficult to understand. The technical part is outstanding, both the graphics with visual effects, modeling, textures of objects, lighting and fluidity of the game. In addition to the impressive soundtrack where we hear the wide variety of musical themes and the quality of these. For all these reasons I recommend 100% that you try this video game.
