Let’s Help One of Our Fellow Hiveians with his Elderly Father’s Medical Bills: A Community Effort!

Medical bills can become a tremendous financial burden for those who do not earn exorbitant salaries. They can deplete a lifetime’s worth of savings within a very short period of time, and if not paid, the care can cease, resulting in deterioration of health, quality of life, and ultimately loss of life.

An Opportunity to Help One of Our Own with Medical Bills

Our very own @susurrodmisterio described the medical expenses that his elderly father requires for treatment of cancer and fractures. He provides proof of this, including bills (should you choose to believe the proof). I will choose to do so, and will set him as a 100% beneficiary to this post,

Although the costs are ongoing and exorbitant, we can play our part to help as a community. All we have to do is vote for this post. Nothing comes out of pockets except for our generosity, and this will result in a beautiful gift from one Hiveian to another.

Conclusion / The Power of Community

Let’s come together for this important cause. The power of Hive and the power of community tie into each other. We can make one person’s life just a little bit easier.

This is really nice. Helping people desperately in need is very good. But can cancer be treated?

Certain types of cancer can be successfully treated, but none truly "cured" (except removing solid, well-defined tumors). Sometimes, for people who choose to continue to fight, receiving chemotherapy and radiation therapy for years is the only solution to prolonging life, but almost never gets rids of the cancer completely.

i disagree. Having been researching and practicing holistic healing for about 15 years, i have a very strong conviction (and have seen much evidence) that cancer and virtually any dis-ease can be reversed IF the person is willing to do the necessary physical and emotional work (and know what is needed). A lot of my publications here on Hive are about this should you care to look deeper. Feel free to ask questions. i offer free health coaching.

Please keep in mind that holistic healing is not evidence-based and formally studied. This is not to say that it has no place in overall treatment, but it would be short-sighted to dismiss an entire field in lieu of methods which haven't actually been studied to the depth that they should be.

I speak from the place of someone who is directly in the health industry. I see a lot of problems with it, and I do think there's plenty of space for holistic healing methods. However, I don't think that they should be used in place of evidence-based medicine, which has that name for a good reason. When used together and with knowledge, both methods, in conjunction, can lead to better outcomes.

There's danger is steering people away from one form of treatment in lieu of another, especially when dealing with something as complex as cancer, which is not a single disease, but rather a very wide array of different conditions, as no single cancer acts the same as another one. I hope that in your goal of promoting holistic healing, which is very useful, you won't cause harm by diverting attention away from methods which have been formally studied.

Yes, chemotherapy and radiation therapy are very difficult; however, depending on the type and severity of cancer, they're sometimes the best shot available. Holistic healing methods in adjunct can make the process a hell of a lot easier.

By the way, I should mention that, personally, I advocate for healthy lifestyle changes before starting any kinds of medications (if applicable). It's best to prevent disease before it begins, rather than deal with it when it already exists.

Oh, I thought I already joined 🙈 now I did.
But dealing with my health issue its sometimes difficult to care for all the communities I love. Also with ecency am not so reliable as I should be. Hopefully this soon will be better to engage more.

It is a good initiative. I think if the person is able to prove that this and that is true then there is no wrong in seeking help for them. Nonetheless we shouldn't always wait for a proof before we extend a helping hand.

Perhaps we can as well create a gofund me account for the person

It's a shame that #thepowersthatshouldntbe suppress (even to the extent of murdering those who become successful and well known for holistic healing) all the virtually free and highly effective ways in which we can prevent/reverse virtually any dis-ease.

But, in time #Matrix8 or a similar #communitygovernance system will restore #powertothepeople so this information is widely available to all, and exorbitant medical bills from the violent so called health services will become a thing of the past

It would be very interesting to be able to see more holistic healing methods undergo studies the way that traditional medicine does at this point. This might help such methods become more mainstream among medical practitioners. It may also be difficult due to the way that studies are conducted +/- ethical issues of not using traditional methods which have some known efficacy. Decentralized systems, however, might help push through some studies that may not otherwise take place.
