Hello to all book lovers, welcome to my blog! After a long time without posting some reviews and reading experiences, today I decided to resume my participation in the community with an amazing book titled If I decide to stay by author Gayle Forman. I must mention that I consider it one of my favorite books. I hope you can enjoy the review to the fullest. Después de un largo tiempo sin publicar algunas reseñas y experiencias lectoras, hoy he decidido retomar mi participación en la comunidad con un increíble libro que tiene por título Si decido quedarme de la autora Gayle Forman. Debo mencionar, que lo considero uno de mis libros favoritos. Espero y puedas disfrutar al máximo de la reseña. If I decide to stay is a novel that was published in 2009 by Gayle Forman. It is a romance and drama genre.

Her story begins with Mia who is the main protagonist, her dream has always been to become an amazing cellist. On the other hand, she has a beautiful family on her side; her parents, younger brother, and a cute and loving boyfriend who always supports her. One day, Mia and her parents and brother decide to take a trip in winter, everything was looking very peaceful, however, no one expected that this family outing would turn into a tragic nightmare for Mia, losing everything, everything she loved most in her life; her family.

This part of the book, was too unexpected for me, I just wanted to continue reading and not take my eyes off it. Continuing the review, Mia becomes totally unconscious but her soul leaves her body and she visualizes her family and herself lying on the floor, I really didn't understand what was happening. As the reading progressed, memories of Mia's past presented themselves and at the same time she returned to reality. There came a moment when the protagonist had to make the hardest decision; whether to continue with the only thing she had left, her boyfriend, or go to her family, that's when I understood the reason for the title of the book. I really, really cried when I read those lines.

Si decidido quedarme es una novela que fue publicada en el año 2009 por Gayle Forman. La misma es de género romántico y drama.

Su historia comienza con Mía quien es la protagonista principal, su sueño siempre ha sido convertirse en una increíble violonchelista. Por otro parte, tiene de su lado a una hermosa familia; sus padres, hermano menor, y un lindo y amoroso novio que siempre la apoya. Un día, Mía junto a sus padres y hermano deciden realizar un viaje en invierno, todo se visualizaba muy tranquilo, sin embargo, nadie esperaba que dicha salida familiar se convertiría en un trágica pesadilla para Mía, al perder todo, a todo lo que más amaba en su vida; su familia.

Esta parte del libro, fue demasiado inesperada para mí, solo quería continuar leyendo y no despegar mi mirada. Continuando la reseña, Mía queda totalmente inconsciente pero su alma sale de su cuerpo y visualiza a su familia y a ella misma tendida en el suelo, realmente no comprendía que sucedía. A medida que avanzaba la lectura se presentaron recuerdos del pasado de Mía y a su vez retomaba la realidad. Llegó un momento en que la protagonista debía tomar la decisión más díficil; si continuar con lo único que le quedaba su novio o irse con su familia, allí fue cuando entendí el por qué del título del libro. Realmente, lloré muchísimo cuando leí esas líneas.

Como mencioné anteriormente, en las próximas páginas se conoce quién es el personaje principal, sus comienzos de cuando conoció a su novio, cómo era sus momentos diarios con su familia, sus mejores instantes tocando el violonchelo, y asimismo, mostraba aquel crudo momento viendo como ella luchaba para seguir viva y salir del estado en qué se encontraba. El hecho de Mía sentir que ya no tendría más a sus padres y hermanito le rompía el corazón, es por ello, que volver no era lo que deseaba porque se encontraría con esa dura realidad una vez que despertara. Pero si moría su novio y aquellas personas que la admiraban como amigos quedarían debastados.

As I mentioned before, in the next pages we get to know who the main character is, her beginnings when she met her boyfriend, her daily moments with her family, her best moments playing the cello, and also, it showed that crude moment seeing how she struggled to stay alive and get out of the state she was in. The fact that Mia felt that she would no longer have her parents and little brother broke her heart, that's why going back was not what she wanted because she would find that harsh reality once she woke up. But if her boyfriend died and those people who looked up to her as friends would be devastated.

At the end of it all, Mía decides to stay. In closing, I consider it an excellent book, as it made me reflect on so many things and enriched my literary journey immensely. Also, it's that kind of book that made me cry a lot of times, at times it presented confusion and I just wished none of that had happened. Personally, I'm more into books that have a happy ending, however, reading these genres, which don't contain an entirely beautiful ending, marks me and moves me in an inexplicable way. I almost forgot! You can also find the movie that was published in 2014.

Al final de todo, Mía decide quedarse. Para terminar, lo considero un excelente libro, al hacerme reflexionar en tantas cosas y por su parte enriquecer muchísimo mi viaje literario. Además, es ese tipo de libro que me hizo llorar un montón de veces, por momentos presentaba confusión y solo deseaba que nada de eso hubiese pasado. En lo personal, soy más de libros que tienen un final feliz, sin embargo, leer estos géneros, que no contienen un final del todo hermoso, me marca y conmueve de una forma inexplicable. ¡Casi lo olvidaba! También puedes encontrar la película que fue publicada en 2014.

Para ser sincera sólo ví la película y me gustó mucho, aunque también me hizo sentir triste por lo de su familia, pero, no he leído el libro y me gustaría hacerlo, horita estoy retomando la lectura así que este estará en mi lista de los que me faltan por leer. Saludos!

He escuchado mucho este libro en redes sociales pero no sabía de qué trataba, ahora que leo la reseña muero de ganas por leerlo, si tú lloraste con este libro es más que seguro que yo también llore a mares, jajaja. ¿Irte con tu familia o quedarte y seguir adelante con la gente que te ama? una decisión muy muy muy difícil, pero me genera curiosidad saber qué fue lo que la convenció de quedarse...

Realmente si eres sensible como mi persona, lloraras mucho. Al principio recuerdo que todo iba bien; la familia perfecta para mí.

A medida que pasaba las páginas, una vez que me di cuenta que se había terminado todo, eso me rompió el corazón, no soy muy fan de leer libros que terminen con un final feliz. Sin embargo, la enseñanza que deja es impresionante y aparte saber que más suede es lo que me mantuvo activa para seguir leyendo.

Y respecto a la pregunta que realizas..."me genera curiosidad saber qué fue lo que la convenció de quedarse..." Su amado novio fue su única motivación para tomar la decisión de quedarse, sumado a ello, cada persona que la amaba como sus amistades y algunos parientes, fue una decisión complicada.

¡Hola! Leí este libro hace un montón, de hecho tiene una continuación por si te dan ganas de leerlo también. Tu reseña me trajo recuerdos de él, este tipo de libros siempre toca una fibra sensible dentro de mí, aunque supongo que están para eso, para hacernos reflexionar y hurgar en nuestro interior.
