Today Featuring Battle

I'd like to post one of the battle I played today. Today focus is Earth splinter and I think it is one of the strongest splinter in lower league.

Since the rule changed, playing with own cards or rented cards gives you better rewards in terms of DEC(although it is very little), Focus Point, Season Point etc.. that I decided to rent a few cards that I don't own.

I rented a summoner card called Mylar Crowling level 1 at 1.7DEC per day. Other Earth splinter cards I rented were Wood Nymph, Regal Peryton, Unicorn Mustang and Khmer Princess. It costed me total around 6.5DEC per day. Although it was not a lot, I am not sure I got 6.5 DEC from winning the battles.

The battle I'd like to discuss was against Life splinter. Due to the rule change, people tend to play a single focus splinter and I could predict that my opponent was likely to use Life splinter with range attack focus, taunting tank and healing card. The idea is while taunting unit take all the attacks, healing card would try to heal and attack with extra range attack provided by the summoner.

To counter this, instead of using Mylor Crowling as the summoner, I used Obsidian and make sure all my cards focus on the enemy tank. I avoid using cards with snipe, sneak and opportunity, because those cards compensate attack point in return for the ability. The abilities would be almost useless since they will be targeting taunting card first.
So my strategy against Life splinter with taunting card is to focus on the tank.

_{Unicorn Mustang was the preferred tank followed by Chaos Agent and Wood Nymph which has healing ability. The reason for using Chaos Agent is to protect Wood Nymph from snipe or opportunity attacks although I expected range heavy cards from enemy. Regal Peryton put in front of Djinn Biljka with camouflage ability. Regal Peryton's speed would make a hard time for the sneakers.}

_{Both team tried to tackle opposite tank in round-1. Healers heal the injured tanks. It was very unfortunate to loose my Unicorn Mustang. Because of its speed, I expected missed attacks from the range cards with slow speed, but it was not the case and Unicorn Mustang was hit most of the time. Regal Peryton is too fast for the Stitch Leech.}

_{In round-3 I was abled to take Shieldbarrier out but lost my Wood Nymph. Regal Peryton was took quick for the enemy range cards and avoided the attacks.}

_{In round-4 I was able to take out range attack cards.}

_{Stitch Leech was too slow to damage and the victory was secured in round-5.}

I think my strategy worked. After reviewing the battle, I realized I should swap the position of Regal Peryton and Chaos Agent. Because, enemy would not attack the back line.

After playing several battles, I reached to the Silver League and managed to collect 2 focus reward chests. Chest look bigger and more valuable compare to previous season chests. As it became relatively difficult to get reward chest due to high Focus Points, I expect better rewards from the chests. I'll let you know what I get from the rewards chests after checking out when the time is up. We still have to wait until tomorrow. I am done playing for today focus and wait for the remaining time. As the capture rate was 60%, I'll only start playing when there's a new focus.
