On entering, we couldn’t help but notice the two big, red traditional coffee machines that welcomed customers. There was one on the left and another to the right of the entrance. My friend and I took a quick shot of the one to the right, as the staff welcomed us and was ready to have us seated.

Nishimura Coffee is popular in Kobe and in Japan, in general. It was established in 1948 and so I imagine there’s quite a bit of history surrounding the shop and the various coffee machines they’ve used over the years.

“Arigatou gozaimasu” (thank you), we said as we were placed to sit behind a group of elderly men. Clearly these men had a lot to catch up on and didn’t care much about who sat next to, behind or in front of them. The chatter was a bit much and too loud so we asked to be placed on the second floor instead. There were no other available seats on the first floor.

Coaster for cups and glasses

My friend ordered a glass of iced coffee and I ordered a melon drink.
With temperatures getting higher, a cool drink seems to be the “order of the day”. As we were being served we noticed the coffee machine on the coaster. It was quite similar to the red ones that greeted us by the entrance and is actually the logo of Nishimura’s Coffee. So, yes, we snapped the coaster as well. Lol.

Refreshing melon 🍈 drink

We sipped, laughed and chatted. Before we knew it, it was time for her to rush off to a meeting and for me to get home to my kids. They say time flies when you’re having fun. *It probably flies even faster when having a good drink.
