Chrome's Dino game! Beat my highscore and win Hive

If you have lived in countries with not-so-stable internet. You must have seen this page if you use chrome during the downtimes.

Most of you know that there is a little easter egg hidden in this page, if you click or tap on the little dianasour, a game should start.

This has been in chrome for years now. For those who are still living under a rock, it is an endless runner game implemented by google to pass some time during those internet connection errors. I have played it a few times on my phone as well.

You get spawned in a desert and have to jump over cacti and birds. You can under some birds as well.

Here are some less-known facts about the game.

• The maximum score one can get is 99999. (My high score is 4330 only)

• You can also play it online by going to "chrome://dino" on your browser and you don't have to worry about your internet getting back in the middle of a run (It sucks sometimes haha)

• You can hack the game and change speed, giving invisibility etc by going to inspect mode and fiddling with the code. Here is a youtube video if you are interested and want to boast about your high score to a friend.

• "We built it to max out at approximately 17 million years, the same amount of time that the T-rex was alive on Earth… but we feel like your spacebar may not be the same afterwards." - Edward, game design team member, on being asked how much time it would take to complete this game.

• If you somehow manage to reach the 99999 scores (you are definitely hacking), it will reset the counter to 0 again.

Here is my attempt at setting a new personal high score. But I could only get half of what I scored during a great run one day.

I just play it for fun while waiting for my internet to come back. Now that I have a wired connection, I don't get much chance of playing it.

Only the other day, I shared this with a kid who was not aware of this game. It just shows that internet connectivity has grown many folds in India during the last few years.
