A comforting meal from a Teochew-style restaurant
One of the simple things that gets me excited is food. I’m glad that my appetite hasn’t changed. I’m still looking forward to having a nice lunch or a satisfying dinner.
I had my dinner at a Teochew-style Restaurant. As I was looking at the dishes that were displayed, I couldn’t help but drool with the feast-like arrangement of the food. I felt excited to see the variety of the dishes. Some of the dishes look savory while some of them look fresh which is a good indication of a properly cooked vegetable.
With plenty of options, I ordered the chicken sautéed in a soy-based sauce, scrambled egg, & pumpkin with mushroom.
I also chose porridge to go along with these dishes. I usually choose porridge whenever there are irregularities in my digestion. I think it’s helpful because it’s light and easy to digest.
My favorite dish I chose tonight is the chicken with savory sauce. I think it’s seasoned well and it’s not salty. I also enjoyed the right balance of flavors from the other ingredients. The wood-ear mushroom, onions, ginger, and dried chilis made this dish one of the best that I tried from this place.
The other dishes that I got were nice too. The pumpkin is one of the dishes that I often order because of its nutritional value and it’s creamy taste as well.
The scrambled egg is an easy choice for me. I like the flavor of this dish. There’s a hint of salted egg flavor to it.
Oh, glad in there has pumpkin dish. In Indonesia, we often stir-fried with another veggies 😊
