Choy Kee’s Lemon Chicken Rice with Egg

I’m back at Choy Kee to try another dish, it’s one of my favorite chicken recipes; it’s Lemon Chicken rice. I like it because of the sharp tangy taste and a hint of savory taste. Aha! It also has a hint of sweetness to it. These are the taste that makes a dish fit for my taste buds.

This hawker stall is always been at the top of my list because they make good food at an affordable price. It’s not a wonder why regular customers order from them.

The long list of items on their menu makes it difficult for me to choose but eventually, I’ll be able to pick one dish that interests me during that moment. I guess that’s their marketing strategy, to give you all the options that you can think of.

They have a variety of styles, from Cantonese, Malaysian, Thai, and even Mongolian cuisine. I don’t know how they are managing their menu but it seems that it isn’t a problem for them since everything that I ordered is available, how cool!

I like the consistency of the sauce. It’s as thick as a ketchup but the taste is “lemony”. The crunchy deep-fried chicken was coated nicely and it’s satisfying.

The sauce is so addicting as I keep dipping the chicken in it to coat as many as the entire piece.

On top of that, I would also add my favorite condiment to a spoonful of bites. It's as if the tanginess of the lemon sauce isn't enough, I'm still adding the pickled green chili with it. You have to be a lover of sour food in order for you to enjoy this bite.

I don't have any problem with sour food, thank goodness!

Another good thing about this dish is the way the egg was cooked. It's cooked through but it was just enough that the yolk is still runny or "saucy".

For me, this is the style of frying an egg that I will enjoy.
