DIY Overnight Oats: Mango Yogurt with Original Biscoff Toppings

I have made a new commitment to this year’s resolution which is to add some “healthier” meals to my diet. You may notice in my blogs that I eat like I don’t care about my health because I often go for something that is not necessarily healthy. My eating habits are not balanced enough because I eat fewer food types that are rich in dietary fiber. I’m eating more carbohydrates and proteins compared to vegetables or fruits.

My concern is that my stomach may not be complaining now but it could happen in the years ahead if I don’t make a change now.

I found a way to ingest a good amount of fiber and still enjoy it as a meal, it’s the Overnight Oats!

A friend of mine suggested it considering that I’m not good or passionate about cooking. The preparation of this meal doesn’t require cooking. It’s mostly a mixing of ingredients with the suggested ratio.

It’s very simple yet versatile when it comes to flavor because I can put any toppings that I prefer for as long as I maintain the ratio of the 3 major ingredients which are rolled oats, milk, & yogurt!

Here’s the final result.

Here are the ingredients that went into the jar.

Cowhead Rolled Oats don't require any cooking or warm water at all, it's perfect for making overnight oats.

Another main ingredient is milk! This serves as the liquid that the oats will absorb.

Yogurt requires no introduction because everyone knows its benefits. It's a good source of good bacteria that our stomach needs. I got a Meiji yogurt that is flavored with mango bits.

And of course, the toppings add a distinct flavor to the mix. I have chosen the original Biscoff which has a caramel-like flavor to it. It will also add a nice crunch to the mix.

It's time to mix!

The first step is to prepare the container. Make sure that it's clean & dry before adding any ingredient inside of it.

Then add a layer of rolled oats inside the container. A good ratio is to have 3 equal parts of oats, yogurt, & milk.

Oats go in first.

Next, pour an equal amount of milk.

Stir to make sure each oat will be soaked in milk.

The next thing that I did was to crush 1 pack of Biscoff which is equivalent to 2 pieces and then add to the mix.

The next step is to add the yogurt. I got the flavored type but you may also use the plain/simple type.

As a finishing touch to the mix, I have added another pack of Biscoff that will serve as crunchy toppings.

This jar will be my personal homemade "ice cream" by tomorrow :D, I'm already looking forward to tasting my creation, cheers!
