Exploring Kallang Stadium and lunch at Encik Tan

Recently, Taylor Swift did a concert here in Singapore and the venue was the Kallang Stadium. I didn’t attend but whenever I pass by this area, I notice a build-up of traffic and a crowd gathering along the bridge that connects the stadium to the bus stop on the opposite side of the road.

Today, I visited the stadium to have my lunch at the Kallang Wave Mall. The stadium feels quiet as there are only a few people who are walking and jogging along the track. It’s so cool that the stadium functions as a running track whenever there’s no event. And the best part is that it’s open for public use.

After a quick walk around the stadium, I check on the direction that will lead me to the shopping mall. The Kallang stadium area is quite big so I had a bit of difficulty in finding the direction. I was lost for a while but eventually, I found the staircase down to the mall.

I decided to dine at Encik Tan because I was craving a nice curry rice.

This version has a taste combination of sweet, savory, and a little bit spicy which is perfect for my preference.

I like curry dishes but I don’t do well with the super spicy versions. It’s either I’ll have hyperacidity, or gum sore which are the things that are not fun to experience. Encik Tan’s curry rice doesn’t give me that kind of side effects, so I can eat there every day if I want to 😅.

For this lunch, I chose the Fish Curry Rice!

At S$6, this dish is considered a good deal!

I also ordered a cup of iced coffee. Their blend has less condensed milk which is better however, it’s more bitter compared to the usual blend in hawkers center.

It was a good lunch! The place is not crowded so I had a more relaxed and comfortable dining experience 😊.
