Late night cravings of Pork Belly Ban Mian

There's something comforting about a bowl of Ban Mian. I think the flavor's simplicity and the broth's clarity make it an outstanding dish whenever I want to feel the comfort of a warm soup.

I would say that this is my go-to meal whenever I feel down or about to get the flu. It is also perfect for when the weather is cold because it warms me up.

One of the restaurants that I go to for a nice bowl of ban main is the one near the Aljunied MRT. Situated beside a Bee Cheng Hiang store, the Food Yo restaurant has become easier to find because it looks like it's an extension of a famous shop.

The Food Yo restaurant is also a famous place in my eyes because I've been here a couple of times before and I still prefer coming back here for a nice brown of Ban Mian.

I ordered number 2 which is the Pork Belly Ban Mian. It's a regular Ban Mian with a good portion of pork belly slices. Because of the pork belly slices, the soup has become richer and tastier.

Other dishes can be eaten alongside the soup too. I tried the fried dumplings which tasted okay but it's nothing compared to the Ban Mian.

The other reason why I like the Ban Mian from this restaurant is that the price is affordable. Over the years they have adjusted their prices but it's still fairly priced compared to the other types of food elsewhere.

Although the place is near the city area, the neighborhood is relatively quieter compared to other areas like Paya Lebar, Kallang, or Bugis. There's an interesting vibe about this place and it's good that they are open for 24 hours. My late-night cravings were satisfied!

My journey to the world of food.
