My first Japanese-style "eat-all-you-can" at Tajimaya (Sumibi Yakiniku)

I'm not made for an "eat-all-you-can" meal but I still like the experience of being able to eat until I can no longer put anything in my mouth. Beating a buffet is not something that I would excel yet I find myself here at Tajimaya, a buffet-style Japanese restaurant located along the Military Cut-off road in Bagiuo City (Philippines).

I have dined in a Korean-style unlimited BBQ before because it's affordable and it's delicious as well so I figured that I should also enjoy a Japanese-style BBQ too. I'm so glad I tried it because it was worth it.

The cooking method is grilling the meat directly over the hot charcoal. There's a thin steel mesh that holds the meat while it's being grilled. By doing this method, the meat tastes smokey and delicious. I prefer this method over the typical "samgyeopsal" method which is grilling the meat over a pan.

Before I continue talking about the food, let me share my thoughts about the place. It's accessible because it's located along one of the major roads of the city. It's on the 2nd-floor level of the building so it's away from the traffic or bustling cars.

There's a Zen feel as I step up towards the restaurant.

The interior is cozy and it does have a warm vibe. The ventilation is quite good too because it didn't smell stuffy despite of the grilling of meat.

I like the creative details that were done on some of the elements in the interiors; one of them is this lamp that was made up of G.I. pipes. It's so cool!

The menu is quite extensive but we are here for the unlimited servings of meat for us to grill.

We went for the buffet menu but we also ordered Prawn Tempura and a premium cut of beef.

I like the side dish that was served together with the meat, the Kimchi is my favorite but I also like the salty bean sprouts.

There was a complimentary Miso soup which is better than what I tried before.

It's grilling time!

Marinated chicken, Japanese sausage, beef strips, and a tiny bowl of scallops...

Among all of the cuts of meat, my favorite has to be the beef. It was marinated with a sweet and savory sauce that gave it a distinct and flavorful taste. I also like the Japanese sausage because of the hint of sweetness to it.

We started in the late afternoon and finished around 7:00 PM. There was no time limit so we had a great time grilling and eating the food. I would come back or have this experience again. Cheers!
