Splinterlands Battle Mage Secrets : LITTLE LEAGUE | Size Does(n't) Matters..

Hello there my Splinterlands Fam.
How are you today.? I hope you all are doing great.

With retiring the Share Your Battle weekly challenge, the Battle Mage Secrets weekly challenge is live. I must admit that the new challenge is much more competitive and challenging because it's not about a card but about a specific ruleset. You have to fight more battles to pick the right one to share. Because not every time you will get the desired ruleset. Then again, it's not sure you'll win that battle even if you get the desired ruleset.
It's tough but it's fun battling though. I surely will miss the old Share Your Battle challenge.

This is the 16th week of this challenge and this week's Battle Mage Secrets challenge is about the LITTLE LEAGUE ruleset.

Just like the previous challenges, in this blog, I'll discuss a few things about the Little League ruleset and share the best battle I won playing in this ruleset.
So, read on...

A Few Words About The Little League Ruleset

little-league.png

In the 'little league' ruleset, only monsters and summoners that cost 4 mana or less may be used in battles.

For obvious reasons, low mana-cost monsters have lower stats and can be very fragile. That's why, choosing the right summoner and monsters is very crucial for this ruleset.

Despite low mana cost, a few monsters have some good stats like, Kobold Bruiser, Cruel Sethropod, Tide Biter, Hill Giant, Blinding Reflector, Stitch Leech, Skeleton Assassin, Whelp Herder, and Uraeus, are few of them.

Using summoners that give +1 HP and +1 attack buffs like Tarsa is greatly beneficial in this ruleset. Speed is also a big factor in this ruleset, use Kelya Frendul in this case.
In most cases, players choose a melee attack-based team in 'little league' ruleset. Therefore using Mylor Crowling as the summoner can be a game changer.

For me, in most times I prefer to use Lorna Shine and her 'sneak' attack army (if possible), or Kelya Frendul and the combo of 'sneak' and 'reach' monsters.

My Strategy and Team Setup

SUMMONER

Mylor Crowling

Mylor Crowling.png

As I said earlier, using Mylor Crowling can be a game changer in this ruleset, so I applied the strategy in this battle.

Team Setup

Team Setup.png

I carefully choose the monsters and made a team with a combination of melee and magic attackers.
The 'thorns' buff from Mylor Crowling is already helpful against melee attacks, therefore I used the Failed Summoner as a tank against magic attacks.
I used two 'sneak' monsters Uraeus and Goblin Thief in the 2nd and the 3rd positions. Next, I used three magic attack monsters Magi Of The Forest, Queen Mycelia, and Djinn Biljka, in the 4th, 5th, and 6th positions respectively.
Queen Mycelia is a 'super monster' when comes to the 'little league' ruleset. She not only provides +2 armor to the friendly team but also 'amplifies' the 'thorns' and 'magic reflect' damage. A must-use monster in this ruleset.

Now, that my team is ready, let's charge into the battle.

Analysis Of The Key Factors Of The Battle

Like most 'little league' battles, this battle is also short in length. But it's fun to see my strategy working.
My enemy was low in level, that was my first advantage. And as I thought, most of his monsters are melee and magic attackers.
With the combined effect of the Failed Summoner and Queen Mycelia, enemy magic attackers got double damage back and so did the melee attackers, thanks to Mylor Crowling.
The only ranged attacker of his team, the Ravenhood Warden, didn't make enough dent in my team up. On the other hand, my melee+magic attack team did some nice damage to the enemy team. I only lost the Failed Summoner, the rest of the team was intact.
Overall, it was a good strategy that brought me the victory.
