Since several posts ago I have been sharing with the community my art in Holozing, sculptures of each of the main characters of the game.

All of them are lovely characters but I wanted to start with these four main ones, the initial ones that you can see in the inventory section in the official website.

By completing the Water Whale sculpture I've already finished the initial four. Only Miu is missing...

Desde hace varias publicaciones atrás he estado compartiendo con la comunidad mi arte en Holozing, esculturas de cada uno de los personajes principales del juego.

Todos son personajes encantadores pero quise empezar con estos cuatro principales, los iniciales que se ven en el apartado de inventario en la página oficial.

Al completar la escultura de Water Whale ya he terminado a los cuatro iniciales. Solo falta Miu...

Step by step

This sculpture, from my point of view, is the most complicated to make, because its shape is completely smooth and although it is a basic shape, you must not leave imperfections because otherwise they will be very noticeable.

You have to try to make everything perfect, so that it doesn't look bad. But I gave it a try, even though I can find details. But look at how it started, with a wire and paper skeleton, just like the one you see in the image below:

Esta escultura, desde mi punto de vista, es la más complicada de hacer, porque su forma es completamente lisa y aunque es una forma básica, no hay que dejar imperfecciones porque sino se notarán mucho.

Hay que tratar de hacerlo todo perfecto, para que no se vea mal. Pero hice el intento aunque le encuentro detalles. Pero fíjense cómo empezó, con un esqueleto de alambre y papel, tal como el que ven en la imagen de abajo:

I covered this equeleto with blue plasticine, trying to use enough to be able to mold the shape that the character will have, in fact in the photo you can see the thickness of the plasticine layer that I applied.

Este equeleto lo cubrí con plastilina azul, tratando de usar la suficiente para poder moldear la forma que tendrá el personaje, de hecho en la foto pueden ver el grosor de la capa de plastilina que apliqué.

Then I began to mold until I created something that resembled a drop of water. This is the best way to describe the initial shape I gave to the sculpture.

This is the base of everything, around this form I created everything else.

Entonces comencé a moldear hasta crear algo parecido a una gota de agua. Es la mejor manera de describir la forma inicial que le di a la escultura.

Esta es la base de todo, alrededor de esta forma creé todo lo demás.

For the bottom of the whale, I used white play dough, then a slightly thicker layer of play dough for the edge of what would be the mouth of this lovely little whale.

After molding, I smoothed the surface of the mouth just enough so there wouldn't be too many imperfections.

Para la parte inferior de la ballena, usé plastilina blanca, luego una capa de plastilina un poco más gruesa para el borde de lo que sería la boca de esta encantadora ballenita.

Luego de moldear, alisé la superficie de la boca lo suficiente para que no quedaran demasiadas imperfecciones.

With a couple of wires I made the fins. I cut the wires large enough to hold the two side fins.

As you can see in the pictures below, I made them a little thinner at the base and wide at the ends, being pointed towards the end of each flipper. I attached each one to the sides of the whale's body.

Con un par de alambres le hice las aletas. Corté los alambres lo suficientemente grandes para que sostuviesen lo suficiente las dos aletas laterales.

Tal como pueden ver en las imágenes de abajo, las hice un poco más delgadas en la base y anchas en los extremos, siendo puntiagudas hacia el final de cada aleta. Cada una la fijé a los lados del cuerpo de la ballena.

I must confess that this character reminded me a lot of a huge airplane, mostly because of the shapes it has in its fins, as it gives the impression of having there something like turbines.

Maybe they are, but just look at the image below, it certainly looks like an airplane.

Debo confesar que este personaje me recordó mucho a un avión enorme, más que todo por las formas que tiene en sus aletas, pues da la impresión de tener allí algo parecido a turbinas.

Quizás lo son, pero solo fíjense en la imagen de abajo, ciertamente parece un avión.

At this point I went on to add the other parts of the whale's body, such as other turbines protruding from the back and a huge horn at the tip of the head.

Ya en este punto continué agregando las demás partes del cuerpo de la ballena, como otras suertes de turbinas que sobresalen del lomo y un enorme cuerno en la punta de la cabeza.

The last thing I did was the whale's eyes. Usually whales have small eyes, so I didn't make them as big as in the drawing, but they are visible to the naked eye and stand out against the blue body of the sculpture.

Lo último que hice fueron los ojos de la ballena. Por lo general las ballenas tienen ojos pequeños, así que no los hice tan grande como en el dibujo, pero sí se ven a simple vista y resaltan en el cuerpo azul de la escultura.
