Greetings friends. I have always thought that a mother's love for a child is something incomparable, so it is something worth immortalizing and remembering forever. Thinking about Mother's Day that has already passed, I wanted to make a commemorative keychain for mothers, who dedicate so much love to their children and this is what came out, a nice keychain that represents that, the love of a mother for a son, or in the case of this keychain, for a daughter.

Saludos amigos. Siempre he pensado que el amor de una madre por un hijo es algo incomparable, así que es algo que bien vale la pena inmortalizar y recordar siempre. Pensando en el día de la madre que ya pasó, quise hacer un llavero conmemorativo para las madres, que tanto cariño le dedican a sus hijos y esto fue lo que salió, un bonito llavero que representa eso, el amor de una madre por un hijo, o en el caso de este llavero, por una hija.

Les pido que me acompañen en el paso a paso de este hermoso llavero.

Step by step

The materials I used for this keychain are, first the flexible dough, then paint, wire and glue.

These are the materials I usually use for this kind of craft, so nothing new so far, except for the technique I will use.

Paso a paso

Los materiales que utilicé para este llavero son, primero la masa flexible, luego pintura, alambre y pegamento.

Son los materiales que suelo utilizar para este tipo de artesanía, así que ninguna novedad hasta ahora, salvo en la técnica que utilizaré.

You see, because of the complexity of the keychain I thought it would be very difficult to paint it, so I thought it would be a good idea to mold the parts of the keychain with the already colored dough, because painting it once all the pieces were assembled would be, as I said, very complicated.

So I took the paints and the little pieces of flexible dough that I would use for the keychain, so I started coloring them.

Verán, por la complejidad del llavero pensé que sería muy difícil pintarlo, así que pensé que sería buena idea moldear las partes del llavero con la masa ya coloreada, porque pintarlo una vez que estuviesen ensambladas todas las piezas sería, como ya dije, muy complicado.

Así que tomé las pinturas y los trocitos de masa flexible que usaría para el llavero, así que comencé a colorearlas.

The correct way to color the flexible dough is to go little by little, because it is a material that when bound with paint becomes very soft, sticky and difficult to handle, so you have to mix it slowly to not allow the dough to become so difficult to mold, but to keep its consistency.

As you can see in the image below, the pieces of flexible dough turned out in pastel colors, darkened with a little black, I would even dare to say that the colors look a little opaque.

La manera correcta de colorear la masa flexible es ir de a poco, pues es un material que al ligarse con pintura se vuelve muy suave, pegajosa y difícil de manejar, así que hay que mezclarla lentamente para no permitir que la masa se vuelva tan difícil de moldear, sino que mantenga su consistencia.

Como pueden ver en la imagen de abajo, los trocitos de masa flexible quedaron de colores pasteles, oscurecidos con un poco de negro, hasta me atrevería a decir que se ven un poco opacos los colores.

Well, after I had the colors ready, I started to mold the pieces of the keychain. The first piece I made was one in the shape of a water drop, with the molded tip a little more rounded, instead of a sharp tip as a water drop would be.

After I had this shape ready, I made a small flattened light skin colored sphere, which I placed on top of the water drop. These two pieces would be the body and head of one of the characters on the keychain.

Pues bien, después de tener los colores listos, comencé a moldear las piezas del llavero. La primera pieza que hice fue una con forma de gota de agua, con la punta moldeada un poco más redondeada, en lugar de una punta filosa como lo sería el de una gota de agua.

Después de tener esta forma lista, hice una pequeña esfera aplastada de color piel clara, la cual coloque en la parte superior de la gota de agua. Estas dos piezas serían el cuerpo y la cabeza de uno de los personajes del llavero.

This keychain is composed of two characters hugging, so I had to make the arms of both of them, I made them tiny, because the keychain is equally small. In the image below you can see the size it has in comparison to a paint lid.

Well, the first one is bigger, because it is the mother, so I made a smaller one, which is the daughter.

Este llavero está compuesto por dos personajes abrazados, así que debía hacerle los bracitos a los dos, los hice diminutos, pues el llavero es igual de pequeño. En la imagen de abajo pueden ver el tamaño que tiene en comparación a una tapa de pintura.

Pues bien, el primero es más grande, porque es la mamá, así que hice uno más pequeño, que es la hija.

For the base I used a mixture of all the colors that were left and joined them into this sort of multicolored tortilla, similar to a rock. It is on this base where I would place the two pieces I showed above.

Para la base utilicé una mezcla de todos los colores que quedaron y los uní en esta suerte de tortilla multicolor, similar a una roca. Es en esta base donde colocaría las dos piezas que les mostré más arriba.

In fact, in the image below you can see where I placed the smallest one, which in this case is the leaf. Once it was glued, I began to mold the hair into thin strips of black flexible dough.

De hecho, en la imagen de abajo pueden ver el lugar en donde coloqué la más pequeña, que en este caso es la hoja. Una vez quedó pegada, le comencé a moldear el cabello en delgadas tiras de masa flexible negra.

Then I placed the other character of the keychain, which I placed very close to the one I had already glued, using only water to keep the two pieces together, since the flexible dough is water-based and with this liquid only.

I must confess that when I saw the keychain with these two pieces thus embraced, I felt that the idea was already taking shape and at a certain point I was moved by how beautiful it looks, so I wanted to share in large and in detail this embrace of the two pieces.

Luego coloqué el otro personaje del llavero, el cual coloqué muy junto al que ya había pegado, usando solamente agua para mantener unidas las dos piezas, pues la masa flexible es a base de agua y con este líquido solamente.

Debo confesar que cuando vi el llavero con estas dos piezas así abrazadas, sentí que ya la idea estaba tomando forma y en cierto punto me sentí conmovido por lo bonito que se ve, por eso quise compartir en grande y en detalle este abrazo de las dos piezas.

Well, after they dried, I continued working on the hair. In this case I molded the mother's hair in such a way that it completely covers the young woman's body, as if she were protecting her with all her being. It is something symbolic, as if it were a hen covering her chicks with her wings, because in this case a mother covers her daughter with her arms and her hair, a symbol of love and protection.

Bien, después de que secaron, continué trabajando en el cabello. En este caso el cabello de la madre lo moldeé de tal manera que este cubriese por completo el cuerpo de la joven, como si la protegiera con todo su ser. Es algo simbólico, como si se tratara de una gallina cubriendo con sus alas a sus pollitos, pues en este caso una madre cubre a su hija con sus brazos y su cabello, un símbolo de amor y protección.

The last thing I did was to give it a few touches of glitter with gold and silver paint, which made it look much better. In addition, I molded a small heart, which I placed between the hands of the two.

Lo último que hice fue darle unos toques de brillo con pintura dorada y plateada, lo cual la hizo lucir mucho mejor. Además, moldeé un pequeño corazón, el cual coloqué entre las manos de las dos.
