Today I was on one of my daily walks and I decided to take more pictures. I recently found out about this contest so I decided to participate by focusing my street photography on something very characteristic of the streets I usually walk on, how lonely they are.

You see, I usually walk in the morning and at this time not many people go out to exercise. They do come out in the afternoon/evening, after work or when the atmosphere is cooler and there is less sun, but usually when I go out there are not many people in these streets, if any.

Well, oriented to capture the loneliness of these streets, I set out to walk with phone in hand and now I will share with you the best photos, in my opinion.

1st photo

The first photo was hard to take, because initially I wanted to photograph a group of pigeons that were in the middle of the street; however, they flew away and only one stayed. I had to approach very slowly and managed to take that picture. I couldn't get any closer; in fact, I barely took the picture and the pigeon flew away.

I edited it to black and white because I think that with this edition the small protagonist of the photo is better appreciated.

2nd and 3rd photo

I live in a high part of my city, so when you look down the avenue, you can see the steep street, because of the high ground.

I wanted to capture this, trying to have some symmetry in the photos, keeping a central point in each one and having all the streets and lines end at that point on the horizon. I also edited them to black and white because it makes more contrast and highlights the white lines of the sidewalk.

4th photo

This photo is practically the same as the previous ones, only from a different street. This time I didn't want to edit it, but I left it with its original colors so that the color and contrast between the green and the concrete of the city can be appreciated.

5th photo

When taking pictures you have to try to be very observant, because you can take interesting pictures of things that usually go unnoticed. Precisely, while walking down the street I found a tiny yellow object between the sidewalk and the grass. It was there, half leaning, so I crouched down, focused on the object and took the picture. I think it looked great.

6th photo

In the streets you can also find beauties of nature, this picture is an example of this. It shows a flower of a very intense red color. I focused it in the foreground so that in the background you can see the street, only out of focus, so that the attention goes to the flower, the protagonist.

7th photo

I told you that these streets where I usually go for a walk are usually lonely. It is somewhat curious that I found a food cart in one of these streets, I say it is curious because the cart was alone, no one was serving it.

I stopped in front of it, took a picture and nobody said anything to me. Even the food stands are alone at this hour....

8th photo

There are few buildings in my city, so I like to take pictures of the few that are more than 3 stories high. This is an apartment building and a man just passed by and got in the way of the photo, but I still captured it and it was interesting to say the least.

9th photo

The last photo of this set has a lot to do with the ones I mentioned before. If I see a big building I like to take pictures of it. This particular set of buildings has a concrete esplanade in front of it, which in the photo can serve as an empty space to place a title, in case you want to use the photo for a cover of a post, for example.

Hoy estuve en una de mis caminatas diarias y me animé a tomar más fotografías. Hace poco me enteré de este concurso así que me decidí en participar orientando mis fotografías de calle a algo muy característico de las calles por las que suelo caminar, lo solitaria que estas son.

Verán, suelo caminar en la mañana y a esta hora no sale mucha gente a hacer ejercicio. Sí salen en la tarde/noche, después de trabajar o cuando el ambiente es mas fresco y hay menos sol, pero por lo general cuando yo salgo no hay muchas personas en estas calles, por no decir ninguna.

Pues bien, orientado en capturar la soledad de estas calles, me dispuse a caminar con telefono en mano y ahora les compartiré las mejores fotos, en mi opinión.

1era fotografía

La primera foto me costó tomarla, porque inicialmente queria fotografiar a un grupo de palomas que estaban en medio de la calle; sin embargo, se fueron volando y solo una se quedó. Tuve que acercarme muy lentamente y logré tomar esa foto. No pude acercarme más; de hecho, apenas tomé la foto y la paloma se fue.

La edité a blanco y negro porque creo que con esta edición se aprecia mejor a la pequela protagonista de la foto.

2da y 3era fotografía

Yo vivo en una parte alta de mi ciudad, asi que cuando uno mira por la avenida hacia abajo, se ve la calle empinada, por lo alto del terreno.

Quise capturar esto, tradando de tener algo de simetría en las fotos, manteniendo un punto central en cada una y que toda las calles y las líneas terminen en ese punto en el horizonte. También las edité a blanco y negro porque así hacen mas contraste y resaltan las líneas blancas de la acera.

4ta fotografía

Esta foto es prácticamente igual a las anteriores, solo que de una calle distinta. En esta ocasión nl quise editarla, sino que la dejé conbsus colores originales para que se aprecie el color y el contraste entre lo verde y el concreto de la ciudad.

5ta fotografía

Al tomar fotos hay que tratar de ser muy observador, porque se pueden tomar fotos interesantes a cosas que suelen pasar desapercibidas. Precisamente, mientras iba por la calle me encontré un diminuto objeto amarillo entre la acera y la grama. Estaba allí, medio inclinadi, así que me agaché, enfoqué el objeto y tomé la foto. Creo que quedó genial.

6ta fotografía

En las calles también se pueden encontrar bellezas de la naturaleza, esta fotografía es un ejemplo de esto. En ella se aprecia una flor de un color rojo bastante intenso. La enfoqué en primer plano para que al fondo se vea la calle, solo que desenfocada, para que la atención vaya hacia la flor, la protagonista.

7ma fotografía

Les dije que suelen estar solas estas calles por donde suelo salir a caminar. Es algo curioso que haya encontrado un carrito de comida en una de estas calles, digo que es curioso porque el carrito estaba solo, nadie lo estaba atendiendo.

Me detuve en frente, tomé una foto y nadie me dijo nada. Hasta losnpuestos de comida estan solos a estas horas...

8va fotografía

Edificios hay pocos en mi ciudad, asi que me gusta tomar fotos de los pocos que hay con más de 3 pisos. Este es uno de apartamentos y justo pasó un señor que se atravesó en la foto, pero igual la capturé y quedó cuando menos interesante.

9na fotografía

La última foto de este conjunto tiene mucho que ver con los que les mencionaba anteriormente. Si vei un edificio grande me gusta tomarle fotos. Este conjunto de edificios en particular tiene por delante una explanada de concreto que en la foto puede servir como espacio vacío para colocarle un título, en caso de que se quiera usar la foto para una portada de un post, por ejemplo.
