Greetings, friends of Holozing, it is a pleasure for me to share with you today a sculpture that I had several days doing, it is about Waller, the evolution of Walle. I find this creature interesting and a bit scary, but it certainly has its charm and I imagine it as a creature that can become gigantic in the wide seas of the Holozing world.

I imagined it controlling huge waves, terrorizing swimmers on the beaches with its terrible gaze or simply marveling divers who ventured into the deep sea to find families of these creatures swimming the ocean currents of this world. It is a creature with a design that I find fascinating, that's why I wanted to start with it when I started making the evolutions.

Saludos, amigos de Holozing, es un placer para mi compartir hoy con ustedes una escultura que tenía varios días haciendo, se trata de Waller, la evolución de Walle. Esta criatura me parece interesante y un poco aterradora, pero ciertamente tiene su encanto y la imagino como una criatura que puede llegar a ser gigantesca en los amplios mares del mundo de Holozing.

La imaginaba controlando olas enormes, aterrorizando nadadores en las playas con su terrible mirada o simplemente maravillando buceadores que se aventuraban a las profundidades marinas para dar con familias de estas criaturas que nadaban por las corrientes marinas de este mundo. Es una criatura con un diseño que me parece fascinante, por eso quise comenzar con ella cuando empecé a hacer las evoluciones.

Step by step

Although it may seem simple, because of the basic shape of the body, it is certainly not. To begin with, you have to know how to make the base to support the weight of the sculpture.

I made this base with wire and paper, a lot of paper with tape so that it would not have too much weight. I also placed the body of the whale in the right place so that there would be a balance of its weight and the sculpture would not fall backwards or forwards.

Paso a paso

Aunque pueda parecer sencilla, por la forma básica del cuerpo, ciertamente no lo es. Para empezar hay que saber cómo hacer la base para que soporte bien el peso de la escultura.

Esta base la hice con alambre y papel, bastante papel con cinta para que no tuviese demasiado peso. También coloqué el cuerpo de la ballena en el lugar adecuado para que hubiese un balance de su peso y la escultura no cayera hacia atrás ni hacia adelante.

The base dried and I started to cover it with royal blue plasticine, the most intense blue I had. I covered the entire surface trying to create a fairly smooth finish, as this was the skin of this creature. I also placed the dorsal fin.

La base secó y empecé a cubrirla con plastilina de color azul rey, el azul más intenso que tenía. Cubrí toda la superficie tratando de crear un acabado bastante liso, pues así era la piel de esta criatura. También le coloqué la aleta dorsal.

For the side fins I used small wires that served as a support to hold them in place. They were quite large fins, so I had to use a wire to hold them, otherwise they would inevitably fall off.

In the pictures below you can see how I placed the two front fins and the other two rear fins, much smaller than the front ones, but which also had to be supported.

Para las aletas laterales usé pequeños alambres que sirvieron de soporte para mantenerlas fijas en su lugar. Eran aletas bastante grandes, así que debía usar un alambre para sostenerlas, de lo contrario se caerían inevitablemente.

En las imágenes de abajo pueden ver cómo coloqué las dos aletas delanteras y las otras dos traseras, mucho más pequeñas que las delanteras, pero que también debían llevar un soporte.

After making the support I took a piece of white plasticine and mixed it with a small dot of blue plasticine.
with a small dot of blue plasticine, with this I obtained a bluish white, similar to the color that Waller has in the lower part of his body.

So, I made a long sheet of plasticine and placed it there, on the lower part of the head and body. I also left a hole for the teeth, which I made one by one with my molding tools.

Después de hacer el soporte tomé un trozo de plastilina blanca y la mezclé
con un pequeño punto de plastilina azul, con esto obtuve un blanco azulado, similar al color que tiene Waller en la parte baja de su cuerpo.

Así pues, hice una lámina larga de plastilina y la coloqué allí, en la parte baja de la cabeza y el cuerpo. Además, dejé un orificio para los dientes, los cuales hice uno por uno con mis herramientas de moldeado.

After finishing with the front part, I finished with the tail, which is something similar to a mass of iron with spikes, with the difference that these are fins and not spikes, although they could well be used by the creature as a weapon to destroy ships.

Después de terminar con la parte delantera, terminé con la cola, que es algo parecido a una masa de hierro con pinchos, con la diferencia que esta son aletas y no pinchos, aunque bien podrían ser usados por la criatura como un arma para destruir barcos.

Going back to the face of the creature, I made the eyes and this kind of crown that you can see in the drawing of the character. I made this crown in a light yellowish color, which contrasts completely with the blue color of the body.

Volviendo a la cara de la criatura, le hice los ojos y esta suerte de corona que se ve en el dibujo del personaje. Esta corona la hice de un color amarillento claro, que contrasta completamente con el color azul del cuerpo.

Above the eyes I placed what we could say are Waller's eyebrows, which give him that angry look, although I don't think this creature is angry, maybe he is just like orcas or sharks, misunderstood animals.

Encima de los ojos coloqué lo que podríamos decir que son las cejas de Waller, las cuales le dan esa apariencia enojada, aunque no creo que esté enojada esta criatura, quizás solo sea como las orcas o los tiburones, animales incomprendidos.

Finally I mixed a lot of light and dark blues to create something similar to water, to make a nice base for this creature, with waves rising from the surface as Waller prepares to enter the sea.

Finalmente mezclé un montón de azules claros y oscuros para crear algo similar al agua, para hacer una base bonita para esta criatura, con olas saliendo de la superficie mientras Waller se prepara para ingresar al mar.
