Hello to all the market lovers out there! 💚

Since this is my first post in this community, I feel like introducing myself in a short paragraph - so, my name is Gabriela and as my name says I love travelling. I joined the blockchain nearly 5 years ago and most articles I've written were based on the places I usually explore with my family or friends but for a while now I decided to explore more communities from the chain and create posts in those which have something in common with my passions that are a lot more than just travelling.

So while you can find pretty much anything on my profile from travel to gaming posts, from movies reviews to food recipes, from photography to game reviews and more, today I'd like to bring to your attention a market that I explored with my mother and boyfriend a few months ago. But before we get there I'd like you to know that I always appreciated the way @dswigle writes her articles and all the contributions she brought to the chain so big congrats for this lovely community you built which I followed from the shadow but didn't have the courage to write for until today. 😀

Anyway, as no one enjoys long intros, let's get a closer look at what the Market Friday entitled Caravana Gaudeamus has to offer, which by the way, was located in the center of the city which is often occupied during the summer with all kind of markets or events.

The market only lasted for a few days but you could easily explore it in 1-2 hours and decide whether you want to purchase something or not.

The first things we noticed were board games, colouring books and plush toys for kids, the tent being located right next to some other toys but for bigger kids this time.

Along with the popular mugs, plates and posters of different brands of cars, there were also some less common ones with the famous Harley Davidson brand or the Route 66 which is a big dream for many Europeans, but also a few other things that can be seen in the pictures.

I'd say that this kind of things are usually enjoyed by those passionate about brands of cars or motorcycles but honestly, I've seen a lot of stuff that I'd like to purchase even though I am not a big fan of BMW or Ford. Not to mention that there were some goodies travel-based, yay! 💚

The next two tents were fully dedicated to music lovers selling thousands of albums of all genres both from the old times and the new times too. That's why you shouldn't be surprised to find Abba and Adele in the same place, ACDC and Linkin Park, or even Romanian music more or less known outside of the country.

However, since it's 2022 and most people get to listen to their favourite songs on streaming platforms without paying anything for that, I was happy to see people still interested in purchasing albums because it's a lovely way of showing your support to the specific band/artist.

A few more tents were entirely dedicated to book lovers, bringing to the tables thousands of books that were organized on genres and publishing houses. Along with these, we noticed some of the never missing shoulder bags that come in handy in most cases but also white t-shirts personalized with smart quotes like: "Reading is the single therapy I need."

And last but not least, there was one final tent whose magic we could feel from the distance, talking about precious stones, jewellery made of natural stones but also perfumed sticks and other things that you can light during a meditation session.

Even if I've never been a fan of this kind of things, I loved the whole vibe I got to feel inside the tent and the mix of perfumes made me dream away. At the opposite pole though is my boyfriend who always loved precious stones (owning a small collection of these) but also perfumes and room fresheners which are never missing.

Now looking back at these pictures I realize how beautiful that day was from the simple things you could buy but which would bring a lot of happiness, to the weather which was perfect for a walk in town.

This was also my first time attending such a market so I'm definitely looking forward to the next year and perhaps purchase some things to store at home until the next event occurs.

What about you though? Did you see anything you would have purchased if you were there? 😊

I love flea markets and usually tend to get lost through merchants while I dig for a treasure. In Romania, there aren't many such markets, but in England or Belgium where I travel a lot, this is a way of living in itself.

There are quite a few organized in Romania as well, or at least in Sibiu where I'm living. But unfortunately those are not so promoted and hence why not a bunch of people know about their existence 🥺

I like street markets like this, where you are encouraged to browse through all the stalls to see if there is something that catches your eye. I surely would have gone to the book stall and spent a good time there 😂

Haha. I feel you! But yeah when you get to see plenty of things in a market without having a specific domain presented, feels like heaven 😂
