Saludos, hivers, hoy quiero compartir mi felicidad con ustedes. Fui el afortunado ganador de 50$ del sorteo mensual del canal de Youtube Un Maracucho suelto en Portugal, el cual me enganchó de inmediato por el espíritu aventurero de @biologistbrito. A través de sus videos pude observar diferentes sitios turísticos de Portugal y aprender sobre historia, geografía y ciencias naturales.

Quiero dejar este testimonio de agradecimiento porque este premio no solo ayudó a la economía familiar sino que representó el apoyo a un hiver que está realizando un trabajo extraordinario a través de su iniciativa en Youtube, lo que no es fácil ya que la creación de contenidos se ha convertido en un mundo muy competitivo, sobre todo para el que se ubica desde el conocimiento.

Greetings, friends, today I want to share my joy with you. I was the lucky winner of $50 in the monthly giveaway on the YouTube channel Un Maracucho suelto en Portugal, which immediately drew me in thanks to @biologistbrito’s adventurous spirit. Through his videos, I was able to explore different tourist spots in Portugal and learn about history, geography, and the natural sciences.

I want to leave this message of gratitude because this prize not only helped our family’s finances but also represented support for a YouTuber who is doing extraordinary work through his YouTube channel—which isn’t easy, since content creation has become a very competitive field, especially for those who focus on knowledge-based content.

También quiero agradecer a mi tía @ramisey, quien me invitó al canal de Youtube. Mi sorpresa fue muy grata cuando observé a un venezolano realizando turismo de aventura pero con el afán de compartir sus conocimientos sobre los lugares que visitaba, alejado de las poses y de la gente que vende estilos de vida para soñadores. Me gustó desde el principio y de inmediato pasé a otro video y luego al resto. Esa forma de proyectar la aventura a través de las ediciones, ángulos de cámaras y narración admito que me enganchó.

Después me enteré que tal dinámica está asociada a la comunidad Amazing Nature de Discord, donde se valora a los seguidores y se deja un registro de las interacciones. Al ver que participar es muy sencillo, solo hay que dar like y ver los videos, me animé y me enfoqué en los cuatro vídeos que allí se mencionaban, les dejaré una breve descripción y un link para que puedan disfrutarlo, al igual que lo hice yo.

I also want to thank my aunt @ramisey, who invited me to the YouTube channel. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw a Venezuelan engaging in adventure tourism but with a genuine desire to share his knowledge about the places he visited—far removed from the posturing and the people who sell lifestyles to dreamers. I liked it from the start and immediately moved on to another video, and then to the rest. I admit that the way he presents adventure through editing, camera angles, and narration really hooked me.

Later, I found out that this approach is associated with the Amazing Nature community on Discord, where followers are valued and interactions are recorded. Seeing that participating is very simple—you just have to like and watch the videos—I got excited and focused on the four videos mentioned there. I’ll leave you a brief description and a link so you can enjoy them, just as I did.

El video de la Cueva del Diablo Atrapado me gustó desde el título, recorrer la aldea de Bolores fue un gran desafío porque no había ninguna señalización para llegar a la cueva, el dron fue vital para guiar esta aventura, pero el esfuerzo valió la pena para revelar los misterios ocultos; la desaparición de los perros y el poder curativo de las piedras que se encuentran allí. Un aura enigmática y misteriosa se pasea en este video, además podemos admirar excelentes paisajes. No solo las imágenes son de alta calidad sino que el contenido está lleno de reflexiones y de datos interesantes.

I was drawn to the video of the Cueva del Diablo Atrapado from the very title. Exploring the village of Bolores was a major challenge because there were no signs pointing the way to the cave; the drone was essential for guiding this adventure, but the effort was well worth it to uncover the hidden mysteries: the disappearance of the dogs and the healing power of the stones found there. An enigmatic and mysterious aura permeates this video, and we can also admire stunning landscapes. Not only are the images high-quality, but the content is also full of insights and interesting facts.

En este video nos vamos a la Sierra de Sintra, acá podemos encontrar formaciones naturales de piedras que a menudo se confundían con dólmenes y representaban un refugio para los Neandertales, no solo podían dormir allí sino que se protegían de las condiciones ambientales. Descubrí entonces que Anta de Adrenunes es una joya de ingenieria prehistórica que se utilizó como un sepulcro colectivo hace más de 5000 años. Me gustó este viaje al pasado porque me hizo reflexionar sobre los secretos que ocultan estas piedras enormes.

In this video, we head to the Sintra Mountains, where we can find natural rock formations that were often mistaken for dolmens and served as a refuge for Neanderthals; not only could they sleep there, but they also found shelter from the elements. I then discovered that Anta de Adrenunes is a gem of prehistoric engineering that was used as a collective burial site more than 5,000 years ago. I enjoyed this journey into the past because it made me reflect on the secrets hidden within these enormous stones.

La capilla de los huesos, ubicada en Évora, fue uno de los videos más escalofriantes, me quedé sorprendido por ese diseño, 5000 huesos humanos, cráneos y dos momias. Luego pude entender que se trata de la filosofía de los monjes franciscanos (orden religiosa) pues era una forma de recordar que la muerte es parte de la vida y hay que aceptarla como parte de un plan divino. También llama la atención el templo de Évora, las bases bien construidas ayudaron a su preservación, un patrimonio del mundo.

The Chapel of Bones, located in Évora, was one of the most chilling videos I’ve ever seen; I was struck by its design—5,000 human bones, skulls, and two mummies. I later came to understand that this reflects the philosophy of the Franciscan monks (a religious order), as it was a way to remind people that death is part of life and must be accepted as part of a divine plan. The temple in Évora is also striking; its well-constructed foundations have helped preserve it, making it a World Heritage Site.

En este video pude disfrutar de Azenhas do Mar, una joya colgada en un acantilado. Las vistas son hermosas y muy impresionantes. La piscina natural es quien se lleva todos los aplausos, la cual funciona con el oleaje del océano Atlántico. También pude observar el molino de agua, nunca había tenido la oportunidad de ver uno funcionando, dada la antigüedad del mismo. Azenhas do Mar es una comunidad de pescadores, fue grato recorrer estos senderos a través de su lente.

In this video, I got to enjoy Azenhas do Mar, a gem perched on a cliff. The views are beautiful and truly breathtaking. The natural pool steals the show, powered by the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. I also got to see the watermill; I’d never had the chance to see one in operation before, given how old it is. Azenhas do Mar is a fishing village, and it was a pleasure to explore these trails through your lens.
