(ESP-ENG) Review Series: The Last Of Us (episode 3 with spoilers/ episodio 3 con spoilers)

Hola amantes del cine y la televisión en hive, hoy una vez más les comparto mi opinión sobre el tercer episodio de la serie basada en el videojuego, The Last Of Us y si aún no lo han visto pues los invito a hacerlo ya que hablaré con spoilers en este post. Hello movie and TV lovers in hive, today once again I share with you my opinion about the third episode of the series based on the video game, The Last Of Us and if you haven't seen it yet then I invite you to do so as I will talk with spoilers in this post. Inicio/Beginning

Comenzando el capítulo volvemos al camino con Joel y Ellie quienes después de perder a Tess ambos parecen afectados y intentan no hablar de ello pero Ellie le hace entender a Joel que ambos sabían lo que podría ocurrir al aceptar el trabajo de llevarla con los médicos de las luciérnagas y por ende ella no tenía la culpa de nada luego Joel ayuda a ellie a entender un poco como fue desde su perspectiva el inicio de la pandemia, explicándole un poco como se expandió a las personas sin que éstas mostrarán señales de mordeduras, una gran explicación en donde a nosotros como espectadores no enseñan más el como fue que inicio todo y como las autoridades lidiaron con estos, tomando miles de vidas inocentes que podrían o no estar infectados pero que según ellos "los muertos no infectan".

Starting the chapter we get back on track with Joel and Ellie who after losing Tess both seem affected and try not to talk about it but Ellie makes Joel understand that they both knew what could happen by accepting the job to take her to the firefly doctors and therefore she was not to blame for anything then Joel helps Ellie to understand a bit how it was from his perspective the start of the pandemic, explaining a bit about how it spread to people without them showing signs of bites, a great explanation where we as viewers are no longer taught how it all started and how the authorities dealt with it, taking thousands of innocent lives that may or may not be infected but according to them "dead people don't infect".

El tercer episodio se estrenó el domingo 29 a las 10 pm (Venezuela) tanto en los canales HBO cómo en su plataforma HBOMAX y cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 15 minutos. Éste se divide en dos secciones, la primera parte nos muestran a Joel y a Ellie tensos por la perdida de Tess, buscando unas cuantas provisiones y yendo a buscar a Bill y a Frank, en la segunda parte nos muestran a dos nuevos personajes, Nick Offerman interpretando a Bill y Murray Bartlett interpretando a Frank, quienes se conocieron 20 años atrás en plena pandemia cuando Frank cae accidentalmente en una de las trampas de Bill y éste decide confiar en el y darle de comer.

Una visión completa a lo que era la vida de Bill durante la pandemia y como éste se mantuvo a salvó dentro de su casa, vigilando todo con cámaras y rodeado de armamento para evitar tener que salir y enfrentarse a cualquier infectado. En el juego tenemos poca información sobre Bill pero lo que sabemos es que tenía habilidades para construir y reparar cosas, además de tener mucho armamento y aunque en el juego la historia de Frank y Bill termina diferente se nota que Bill evita decirle a Joel que éste era su pareja y que tener que cuidar de alguien solo iba a hacer que te mataran.

The third episode premiered on Sunday 29 at 10 pm (Venezuela) both on HBO channels and on its platform HBOMAX and has a duration of 1 hour and 15 minutes. It is divided into two sections, the first part shows Joel and Ellie tense about the loss of Tess, looking for a few supplies and going to look for Bill and Frank, in the second part we are shown two new characters, Nick Offerman playing Bill and Murray Bartlett playing Frank, who met 20 years ago in the middle of the pandemic when Frank accidentally falls into one of Bill's traps and Bill decides to trust him and feed him.

A complete vision of what Bill's life was like during the pandemic and how he stayed safe inside his house, watching everything with cameras and surrounded by weapons to avoid having to go out and face any infected. In the game we have little information about Bill but what we know is that he had skills to build and repair things, besides having a lot of weapons and although in the game the story of Frank and Bill ends differently it is noted that Bill avoids telling Joel that this was his partner and that having to take care of someone was only going to get you killed.

Un episodio un tanto polémico pero que fue increíblemente hermoso y emotivo, con una narrativa increíble y escenas llenas de vida, donde nos muestran más la relación entre Bill y Frank y como se conocieron y lo que el director Craig Mazin nos enseña es que tiempos oscuros es posible encontrar la felicidad. Una visión diferente sobre como se vivió la pandemia desde el punto de vista de alguien que pudo conseguir el amor y cariño de otra persona, aún así, es un episodio donde nos hablan de una historia que se contó en el juego y que no ha todo el mundo le gustará debido a esta relación pero el cual me encantó y conmovió ya que me mostró una forma diferente de ver el mundo post-apocalíptico en el cual vivían estos personajes pero desde la felicidad, después de tanta devastación y muerte ellos tenían su propia y segura felicidad donde tenían todo lo que querían.

A somewhat controversial episode but it was incredibly beautiful and emotional, with an incredible narrative and scenes full of life, where we are shown more of the relationship between Bill and Frank and how they met and what director Craig Mazin teaches us is that in dark times it is possible to find happiness. A different vision of how the pandemic was lived from the point of view of someone who could get the love and affection of another person, even so, it is an episode where we talk about a story that was told in the game and that not everyone will like because of this relationship but which I loved and moved me because it showed me a different way of seeing the post-apocalyptic world in which these characters lived but from happiness, after so much devastation and death they had their own safe happiness where they had everything they wanted.

Según el director Mazin este episodio originalmente iba a durar 2 horas pero decidieron acortarlo para reducirlo al formato de capítulo aún así estoy segura de que hubiera sido aún más devastador y emocional, este episodio reunió muchas emociones al igual que los anteriores nos hace olvidarnos por un instante de todos los males, de la pandemia, FEDRA, los infectados y nos muestra ésta trágica historia de amor y la cuál será recordada tanto de mala manera como de buena pero aún así está ahí. Un episodio que demostró poder con los cambios, mostrar algo diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados a ver y aún así poder salir victoriosos con tremendo trabajo en las canciones, la escenografía y los diálogos lleno de simbolismos en cada escena.

According to director Mazin this episode was originally going to last 2 hours but they decided to shorten it to reduce it to a chapter format even though I'm sure it would have been even more devastating and emotional, this episode gathered many emotions just like the previous ones it makes us forget for a moment about all the evils, the pandemic, FEDRA, the infected and shows us this tragic love story and which will be remembered in both bad and good ways but it's still there. An episode that showed power with the changes, showing something different to what we are used to see and still being able to come out victorious with tremendous work in the songs, the scenography and the dialogues full of symbolism in each scene.

A pesar de que cierta parte criticara el hecho de hubieron pocas escenas de referencias al juego en mi parecer es todo lo contrario, nos confirmaron lo que a través de audios y notas nos mostraron en el juego al igual que el final de el personaje Frank quien a pesar de haberse suicidado en el juego al descubrir que había sido mordido termino suicidándose al tener una enfermedad desconocida en la serie, presentaron la perdida de este personaje de igual manera e incluso más fuerte ya que Bill decide morir con el, algo que se desvía de la historia del juego original pero con una buena justificación como lo es: Sin Frank, su único propósito para sobrevivir en el fin del mundo, el ya no veía una razón para seguir viviendo, aún así es una increíble forma de adaptarlo y mostrar este lado que no se vio en el juego ahora explicado en la serie.

Although some criticized the fact that there were few scenes of references to the game in my opinion is quite the opposite, we confirmed what through audios and notes showed us in the game as well as the end of the character Frank who despite having committed suicide in the game to discover that he had been bitten ended up committing suicide by having an unknown disease in the series, presented the loss of this character in the same way and even stronger as Bill decides to die with him, something that deviates from the story of the original game but with a good justification as it is: Without Frank, his only purpose to survive in the end of the world, he no longer saw a reason to continue living, still it is an incredible way to adapt it and show this side that was not seen in the game now explained in the series.

Ya habiendo hablado de la historia de Frank y Bill hablaré un poco sobre lo que aconteció luego, Ellie y Joel se dan cuenta de que Bill y Frank se suicidaron a través de una nota que les dejaron, a pesar de que ambos no se caían del todo bien Bill le dejo a Joel varias provisiones y armamento para cuando lo necesitara demostrando que aún así lo respetaba, esta carta marco un cambio importante en Joel.

"Yo odiaba el mundo y estaba feliz de que murieran todos, pero estaba equivocado. Los hombres como tu y como yo tenemos una misión: salvar a la gente." Esto es parte de lo que lee Ellie en la nota y tras leerlo Joel cambia de idea con respecto a lo que pensaba de la posible salvación del mundo y piensa en tess, ganando fuerza y determinación para completar su trabajo, mantener a salvó a Ellie.

Having already talked about the story of Frank and Bill I will talk a little about what happened next, Ellie and Joel realize that Bill and Frank committed suicide through a note they left them, although both did not like each other at all Bill left Joel several supplies and weapons for when he needed it showing that he still respected him, this letter marked an important change in Joel.

"I hated the world and was happy for everyone to die, but I was wrong. Men like you and me have a mission: to save people." This is part of what Ellie reads in the note and after reading it Joel changes his mind about what he thought of the possible salvation of the world and thinks of tess, gaining strength and determination to complete his job, to keep Ellie saved.

Siendo este el final del episodio nos conseguimos con más réplicas del juego como la camisa que usa ellie, la escena donde ellie reproduce un casette de música el cual tiene un diálogo exacto al del juego y con esto nos demuestran que aún están ahí, aún están representando a aquel juego del 2013, con pequeños detalles y con grandes conversaciones memorables haciendo de este un gran y emotivo episodio, lleno de un trasfondo y el desenlace de una historia que no estaba del todo clara.

Con un final agridulce pero decisivo comenzamos un nuevo viaje con nuestros protagonistas que gracias a nuestros directores nuevamente tuvieron una escena donde se ve un poco más de unión entre ambos, una simple escena como lo fue la de Joel poniéndole el cinturón a Ellie y ella luego colocando música nos muestra que poco a poco va naciendo un vínculo entre ambos.

This being the end of the episode we get more replicas of the game as the shirt that Ellie wears, the scene where Ellie plays a music cassette which has an exact dialogue to the game and with this they show us that they are still there, they are still representing that game of 2013, with small details and with great memorable conversations making this a great and emotional episode, full of a background and the outcome of a story that was not entirely clear.

With a bittersweet but decisive ending we begin a new journey with our protagonists that thanks to our directors again had a scene where we see a little more of union between them, a simple scene like Joel putting the belt on Ellie and then her placing music shows us that little by little a bond is being born between them.
