Hola amantes del cine y la televisión en hive, con un emocionante y emotivo episodio final terminamos la primera temporada de la serie adaptada por HBO del videojuego The Last Of Us y hoy les daré mi opinión sobre el episodio 9, el final solo es el comienzo. Hello movie and TV lovers in hive, with an exciting and emotional final episode we ended the first season of the series adapted by HBO from the video game The Last Of Us and today I will give you my opinion about episode 9, the end is just the beginning. Inicio/Beginning

Comenzando el episodio podemos notar que no vemos de primeras la intro de la serie sin embargo comienza una memoria del pasado, podemos ver a la joven madre de Ellie corriendo por su vida por entre los bosques como si estuviera siendo perseguida o como si necesitara esconderse de algo o alguien, con un poco de dificultad ésta llega a una casa y al encerrarse en un cuarto se tranquiliza pero esto dura poco ya que un infectado está intentando entrar a su cuarto, desafortunadamente éste entra y después de una pelea la madre de ellie logra matarlo, dándose cuenta de que en el proceso nació su hija y otra sorpresa que nos indicara más de la incógnita de Ellie, la niña inmune.

Un inicio agitado y lleno de pura tensión, mostrándonos la perspectiva de la madre de ellie y aunque no se sabe exactamente a dónde quería dirigirse solo sabemos que intentaba ocultarse, tras una lucha tensa podemos ver como la madre de ellie abraza a su hija recién nacida y se asegura de que ésta se encuentra bien.

Starting the episode we can notice that we don't see the intro of the series at first, however a memory of the past begins, we can see Ellie's young mother running for her life through the woods as if she was being chased or as if she needed to hide from something or someone, With a little difficulty she arrives at a house and locking herself in a room she calms down but this is short-lived because an infected is trying to enter her room, unfortunately he enters and after a fight Ellie's mother manages to kill him, realizing that in the process her daughter was born and another surprise that will tell us more of the unknown of Ellie, the immune girl.

A hectic start full of pure tension, showing us the perspective of ellie's mother and although we don't know exactly where she wanted to go we only know that she was trying to hide, after a tense fight we can see how ellie's mother hugs her newborn daughter and makes sure she is okay.

El noveno y último episodio de ésta primera temporada titulado "Busca la luz" se estrenó el domingo 12 de marzo a las 9 pm (Venezuela) tanto en los canales HBO cómo en su plataforma HBOMAX y cuenta con una duración de 43 minutos. Este episodio se centra principalmente en mostrarnos las perspectiva de la madre de ellie antes de morir y como ellie se convirtió en una niña inmune, además también cuenta como nuestros protagonistas Joel y Ellie se encuentran en camino al hospital de las luciérnagas donde los esperan para realizar la supuesta vacuna contra el cordyceps.

En este episodio contamos una nueva participación y de la cual se presume es su única aparición de la actriz Ashley Johnson (quien le dió vida y voz a Ellie en The Last Of Us el videojuego) interpretando a Anna, la madre de Ellie, además contamos con la participación de nuevo de la actriz Merle Dandridge
interpretando de nuevo a Marlene, lider de las luciernagas, y así como siempre contamos con nuestros protagonistas Pedro Pascal siendo Joel Miller y Bella Ramsey como Ellie.

The ninth and last episode of this first season titled "Look for the light" premiered on Sunday, March 12 at 9 pm (Venezuela) both on HBO channels and on its platform HBOMAX and has a duration of 43 minutes. This episode focuses mainly on showing us the perspective of Ellie's mother before she died and how Ellie became an immune child, and also tells how our protagonists Joel and Ellie are on their way to the hospital of the fireflies where they are expected to make the supposed vaccine against the cordyceps.

El episodio más esperado tanto por los que jugamos el juego en su momento como los que recién están conociendo la historia, el episodio final, el cual tiene varios enfoques y cierres, por ejemplo, uno de estos cierres es la finalización del viaje de Ellie y Joel por el país para poder llegar a un hospital de las luciérnagas y generar una vacuna contra el cordyceps, el otro cierre sería el cierre al misterio de por que ellie es inmune así como el rostro de su madre y que ocurrió antes de que Ellie terminara en manos de Marlene. Bastante emocionante este episodio podemos ver que los ánimos y las actitudes han cambiado, ellie ha cambiado luego de los hechos ocurridos en el episodio anterior y podemos la contra parte de los sentimientos de ellie, mientras que ésta se encuentra reservada Joel se ve mucho más abierto y más dispuesto a fortalecer el vínculo entre ambos.

Volviendo a la historia sobre la madre de Ellie podemos ver que era amiga de Marlene y que fue mordida por el infectado con el que peleaba, asustada termina de cortar el cordón umbilical de ellie y procede a calmar a la bebé, descansar y esperar lo inevitable, morir a causa de la mordida. Sin embargo, podemos ver como irrumpe una Marlene preocupada y se da cuenta de la situación, al encontrar a Anna ve que ésta está a punto de cometer suicidio pero no se atreve así que le pide a su amiga Marlene que lo haga ella misma y pidiéndole que proteja a Ellie y le de su navaja, un gran simbolismos y explicación de por que Ellie siempre tiene una navaja. Marlene sin tener más opciones y con poco tiempo para proceder mata a Anna y se va con Ellie para cuidarla apropiadamente.

However, we can see how a worried Marlene bursts in and realizes the situation, upon finding Anna she sees that Anna is about to commit suicide but doesn't dare so she asks her friend Marlene to do it herself and asking her to protect Ellie and give her her razor, a great symbolism and explanation of why Ellie always has a razor. Marlene with no other options and little time to proceed kills Anna and leaves with Ellie to take proper care of her.

Continuando con la historia de nuestros protagonistas podemos ver como entablan algunas conversaciones mientras atraviesan un puente y algunos edificios abandonados, ellie predice lo que Joel quiere hacer pero este brome con ella para luego decir que si tiene razón, podemos ver como Joel está afectado por ver a ellie tan retraída, una ellie que no conocía ya que ésta siempre estaba animada y hablando en todo momento, así que mientras van en camino éste intenta hacerla olvidar todo ese trauma aunque sea por unos momentos. Al llegar a un edificio abandonado y Joel decirle a Ellie que el la va a subir para que pueda bajar una escalera, ésta aún está algo retraída pero hace lo indicado sin saber con lo que se encontraría allá arriba dejando a Joel que suba luego, Joel al llegar arriba tiene que perseguir a ellie para ver lo que tanto le emociona a ella y esto es, la vista. Sin duda una escena magnífica y emotiva, podemos ver como ambos alimentan a una jirafa de las muchas que andan alrededor del lugar, una vez más HBO y Druckmann dándonos diálogos exactos a los del videojuego haciendo que de mi parte salieran las lágrimas por el nivel de detalle de ésta adaptación.

Continuing with the story of our protagonists we can see how they engage in some conversations while crossing a bridge and some abandoned buildings, Ellie predicts what Joel wants to do but he jokes with her and then says that he is right, we can see how Joel is affected by seeing Ellie so withdrawn, an Ellie he did not know because she was always cheerful and talking at all times, so while they are on their way he tries to make her forget all that trauma even for a few moments. When they arrive to an abandoned building and Joel tells Ellie that he is going to take her up so she can go down a staircase, she is still a little retracted but she does the right thing without knowing what she would find up there leaving Joel to go up later, Joel when he gets to the top has to chase Ellie to see what she is so excited about and that is, the view. Undoubtedly a magnificent and emotional scene, we can see how both feed a giraffe of the many that walk around the place, once again HBO and Druckmann giving us exact dialogues to those of the video game making tears come out of my part for the level of detail of this adaptation.

Entre las conversaciones que tuvieron Joel y Ellie en el camino podemos destacar dos principalmente importantes que ayudan a unir algunos puntos más tanto dentro de la historia y el pasado de Joel como de el vínculo que se generó entre ambos. El primer suceso fue la explicación de la cicatriz cerca del ojo de Joel, la cual Ellie recuerda vagamente diciendo que fue porque le dispararon a lo que Joel explica que fue porque intento suicidarse, una confesión impactante y que el mismo Joel afirmó que no fue una sorpresa ya que el no veía nada por lo que continuar después de haber perdido a su hija, luego de esta confesión podemos ver como Ellie mira diferente a Joel, viendolo más como una persona frágil y que a sufrido muchísimo a lo que nos lleva a nuestro segundo suceso, Ellie le dice a Joel que quizás el tiempo curo su herida por la perdida de su hija a lo que este responde que no fue el tiempo mientras la miraba fijamente y Ellie sabe que está hablando de ella, ella fue la que lo salvó y lo ayudo a curar esa herida, sintiendo el verdadero significado de sus palabras solo se limita a hacerle saber que está feliz de que el hubiera fallado en su intento de suicidio. Podemos ver como estos dos personajes tan queridos se unen aún más luego de compartir no solo experiencias sino sus historias y fantasmas del pasado así como Ellie le hablo a Joel sobre su mejor amiga y como ella tuvo que matarla Joel le contó sobre como intento acabar con su vida, haciendo que este lazo que poco a poco se estaba uniendo terminara más fuerte y resistente.

Among the conversations that Joel and Ellie had along the way we can highlight two mainly important ones that help to connect some more dots both within the story and Joel's past as well as the bond that was generated between the two. The first event was the explanation of the scar near Joel's eye, which Ellie vaguely remembers saying that it was because he was shot to which Joel explains that it was because he tried to commit suicide, a shocking confession and that Joel himself stated that it was not a surprise since he did not see anything to continue after having lost his daughter, after this confession we can see how Ellie looks differently to Joel, Ellie tells Joel that maybe time healed his wound for the loss of his daughter to which he replies that it was not time while staring at her and Ellie knows he is talking about her, she was the one who saved him and helped him heal that wound, feeling the true meaning of his words she just let him know that she is happy that he had failed in his suicide attempt. We can see how these two beloved characters bond even more after sharing not only experiences but their stories and ghosts of the past as Ellie told Joel about her best friend and how she had to kill her, Joel told her about how he tried to end her life, making this bond that little by little was coming together stronger and more resistant.

Pero no todo podía ser tan bonito y emotivo ya que un grupo de luciérnagas interceptaron a Joel y a Ellie y los llevaron al hospital, Joel después de haber sido duramente golpeado por uno de estos guardias despierta en una cama de hospital y se encuentra a Marlene quien comienza a explicarle lo que pasaría de ahora en adelante, Ellie sería sometida a la cirugía pero luego explica que ella deberá morir para poder generar alguna vacuna contra el cordyceps, podemos ver a Joel resistiéndose a la idea e intentando razonar pero una vez más podemos ver como simplemente lo escoltan para sacarlo del edificio. Joel quien comienza a planear su siguiente movimiento decide atacar a cualquier persona que se interponga en su camino para salvar a Ellie. Con una increíble escena casi al nivel cinematográfico podemos ver el lado más oscuro de Joel, podemos ver como hace hasta lo imposible para recuperar a Ellie, sin duda una escena fuerte ya que vemos las vidas que quita Joel para poder salvar a la más importante de todas. Una escena que marco un antes y un después en la vida de ambos tanto de Joel como de Ellie para lo que vendría en el futuro no muy lejano.

With an incredible scene almost at the cinematic level we can see the darker side of Joel, we can see how he does the impossible to recover Ellie, certainly a strong scene as we see the lives that Joel takes to save the most important of all. A scene that marked a before and after in the lives of both Joel and Ellie for what was to come in the not too distant future.

Una de las escenas más importantes está frente a nuestros ojos, Joel consigue dar con Ellie y por consecuencia se encuentra con el doctor y las enfermeras que llevarían a cabo la cirugía, Joel decide no dialogar y simplemente matar al doctor, ordena a las enfermeras a desconectar a Ellie y luego la toma en brazos para salir del lugar. Sin duda una decisión importante para la historia de ésta serie, vemos que Joel decidio por sobre lo que habia acordado con ellie y por ende decidió que viviera, tenemos presente lo que Marlene le dijo a Joel, ellie no estaba al tanto de como sería el procedimiento así que no sabría que iba a morir solo sabía que iba a poder salvar a muchos pero para Joel era más importante que ellie sobreviviera incluso si eso implicaba sacrificar una posible solución a todo el problema con la infección por cordyceps.

Sin duda es una de las decisiones más fuertes e importantes dentro de la serie y con los personajes, una decisión de la cual muchas personas en su momento no estuvieron de acuerdo pero creo que la adaptación logro que todas las personas que ven la serie pudieran sentir que esa era la decisión correcta debido a la gran de relación entre ambos personajes y esa química padre e hija que simplemente fue en aumento con cada episodio.

One of the most important scenes is in front of our eyes, Joel manages to find Ellie and consequently meets the doctor and the nurses who would perform the surgery, Joel decides not to dialogue and simply kill the doctor, he orders the nurses to disconnect Ellie and then takes her in his arms to leave the place. Undoubtedly an important decision for the story of this series, we see that Joel decided over what he had agreed with Ellie and therefore decided to let her live, we have in mind what Marlene told Joel, Ellie was not aware of how the procedure would be so she would not know that she would die, she only knew that she would be able to save many but for Joel it was more important that Ellie survived even if that meant sacrificing a possible solution to the whole problem with the cordyceps infection.

It is undoubtedly one of the strongest and most important decisions within the series and with the characters, a decision that many people at the time did not agree with but I think the adaptation achieved that everyone who watches the series could feel that this was the right decision because of the great relationship between the two characters and the father and daughter chemistry that simply increased with each episode.

Ya a punto de terminar el episodio podemos ver como Joel llega al sótano donde planea tomar un auto y huir de allí pero se encuentra con Marlene, ella intenta hacerlo entrar en razón pero luego de un disparo y un corte de imagen en negro vemos como Joel está manejando en el camino mientras podemos ver un el espejo que Ellie está durmiendo en los asientos traseros. Muestran luego que Joel decidió matar a Marlene ya que ella iría a buscar a Ellie y al mismo tiempo Joel cuenta a Ellie el por qué de su salida del hospital, diciendo que según el médico y Marlene existían muchas más personas inmunes y que hacer una cura era en vano. Una mentira bastante fuerte y pesada que podemos ver como afecta de manera significativa a Ellie haciendo que ésta solo se de la vuelta y no hable más con Joel

Ya en los últimos minutos podemos ver como se encuentran en camino a Wyoming de nuevo luego de que su auto se le acabará la gasolina, al estar cerca del lugar Ellie habla con Joel y confiesa parte de su pasado y que éste debía jurarle que todo lo que había ocurrido con las luciérnagas en ese hospital era verdad y así mismo Joel lo juro, con esto damos por terminado el último episodio de la primera temporada de The Last Of Us, una serie llena de emociones y historia, así como personajes que recordaremos por siempre, un episodio bastante fuerte y emotivo que nos deja pensando en si realmente fue la mejor solución la decisión que tomó Joel y viendo todo lo que hizo por amor.

A pretty strong and heavy lie that we can see how it affects Ellie significantly making her just turn away and not talk to Joel anymore.

In the last minutes we can see how they are on their way to Wyoming again after their car ran out of gas, being near the place Ellie talks to Joel and confesses part of his past and that he had to swear that everything that had happened with the fireflies in that hospital was true and Joel swore it, with this we end the last episode of the first season of The Last Of Us, a series full of emotions and history, as well as characters that we will remember forever, a very strong and emotional episode that leaves us wondering if it was really the best solution the decision Joel made and seeing everything he did for love.

Ver esta serie y haber tenido la oportunidad de jugar el juego fueron dos experiencias increíbles, la serie es una fiel adaptación al juego, con representaciones extraordinarias, mayor información respecto a la historia y sin duda sus grandes actores y actrices que le dieron vida y amor a estos personajes tan amados. Sin duda no volveré a ser la misma y es que este juego tiene un significado muy especial para mi y vivir el poder disfrutar de esta serie y que sea una adaptación tan espectacular simplemente es extraordinario.
