STORYTIME: MY FIRST TIME AT COLONIA TOVAR [ESP//ING]

Cómo les comenté en mi post anterior, hace unos días tuve la posibilidad de viajar a un lugar maravilloso dentro de mi país: La colonia tovar. Un lugar al que había querido ir desde pequeña pero que por diversas razones no había podido conocer, sino hasta hace poco. Y creanme cuando les digo que no me arrepiento, pues definitivamente conocerla cuando tengo mayor madurez hace grandes diferencias y me permitió disfrutar el viaje un montón.
As I mentioned in my previous post, a few days ago I had the chance to travel to a wonderful place in my country: La Colonia Tovar. A place I had wanted to go since I was a child but for various reasons I had not been able to visit until recently. And believe me when I tell you that I do not regret it, because definitely knowing it when I have more maturity makes a big difference and allowed me to enjoy the trip a lot.
Siempre dicen que lo que no se planifica, sale mejor y éste viaje fue el vivo reflejo de ello🤭 Les cuento: Hace cómo 1 mes terminé mi sexto semestre, un semestre que en definitiva me hizo crecer como persona pero que también me ayudó a conocer mejor a mis compañeros y a forjar amistades preciosas, y esto es importante porque, con dichas amistades realicé éste viaje. Un día como hoy, una de mis amigas me escribió para preguntarme si estaba disponible para viajar dentro de una semana a la colonia Tovar, que tendríamos transporte, hospedaje y comida cubiertos, que solo debíamos llevar dinero para nuestros gastos y nuestras ganas de disfrutar... Obviamente mi respuesta fue que si.
They always say that what is not planned, comes out better and this trip was the living reflection of that🤭 Let me tell you: About 1 month ago I finished my sixth semester, a semester that definitely made me grow as a person but also helped me to know my classmates better and forge precious friendships, and this is important because, with those friendships I made this trip. One day like today, one of my friends wrote me to ask me if I was available to travel within a week to Colonia Tovar, that we would have transportation, lodging and food covered, that we only had to bring money for our expenses and our desire to enjoy.... Obviously my answer was yes.
Para quien no lo sabe, la colonia Tovar fue fundada por Alemanes hace muchos años, y su lema reza que es "un pequeño pedazo de Alemania en mi linda Venezuela". Por ese motivo desde pequeña habia querido visitar la colonia, y dicho deseo creció aún más cuando en mi adolescencia entendí que Alemania era un país al cual quería emigrar en algún momento de vida. Así que si, desde hace mucho tiempo quería conocer lo que se dice, es un pequeño reflejo de ese hermoso país.
For those who don't know, the Tovar colony was founded by Germans many years ago, and its motto says that it is "a little piece of Germany in my beautiful Venezuela". For that reason I had wanted to visit the colony since I was a child, and this desire grew even more when in my adolescence I understood that Germany was a country to which I wanted to emigrate at some point in my life. So yes, for a long time I wanted to get to know what is said to be a small reflection of this beautiful country.
Pero bueno, la cuestión es que, cuando quise darme cuenta estaba haciendo un viaje de carretera de aproximadamente 6 horas, acompañada por mis amigos, llena de ganas por llegar a nuestro destino y disfrutando de cada parte de la carretera. En el momento adecuado paramos en una linda ciudad comercial para almorzar y aproveché la oportunidad de tomar algunas fotos de recuerdo.
But well, the point is that, when I wanted to realize I was doing a road trip of about 6 hours, accompanied by my friends, full of desire to reach our destination and enjoying every part of the road. At the right time we stopped in a nice commercial town for lunch and I took the opportunity to take some souvenir pictures.
Ya luego de esa parada, tardamos aproximadamente 3 horas más en llegar a nuestro destino, una linda cabaña perteneciente a la colonia Tovar, pero que estaba a 20 min del pueblo como tal. Dicha cabaña, es el lugar donde nos quedaríamos los 3 días que duraba nuestro viaje. Créanme cuando les digo que fue un gran momento para reconectar con la naturaleza, disfrutar de un rico clima y de compartir con mis amigos; algo que sin duda hicimos muchísimo, fue un ambiente perfecto lleno de risas desde el inicio.
Algunas de las cosas que más nos hicieron reír fue que el agua de la cabaña SIEMPRE estaba fría, bañarte era nadar en hielo y la cereza del pastel es que al ser agua de manantial, tenía ciertas propiedades que no dejaban que el jabón saliera por completo de tu cuerpo🤭 otra cosa es que para llegar a la cabaña teníamos que pasar un por camino bastante maltrecho, en el que el carro se golpeó un poco y nosotros con el🤣
After that stop, it took us about 3 hours more to reach our destination, a nice cabin belonging to the Tovar colony, but which was 20 minutes away from the town as such. This cabin is the place where we would stay for the 3 days of our trip. Believe me when I tell you that it was a great moment to reconnect with nature, enjoy the nice weather and share with my friends; something that we certainly did a lot of, it was a perfect environment full of laughter from the beginning. Some of the things that made us laugh the most was that the water in the cabin was ALWAYS cold, bathing was like swimming in ice and the cherry on the cake is that being spring water, it had certain properties that did not let the soap completely leave your body🤭 another thing is that to get to the cabin we had to pass a pretty rough road, in which the car was hit a little and we with it🤣.
Al día siguiente de nuestra llegada, pudimos ir al pueblo como tal, y les puedo decir que estaba demasiado emocionada para ser verdad; cada esquina del pueblo era preciosa, muy de la época y sobretodo lleno de lugares listo para ser explorados; lo primero que hicimos fue dar una vuelta por todo el pueblo, ver los diferentes puestos del mercadillo y entrar a la iglesia del pueblo, un lugar sin dudas precioso. Luego hicimos lo que todo turista debe hacer si va a la colonia Tovar: Tomar chocolate caliente y comer fresas con crema. Mención especial para un lugar llamado "Churro Helado" dónde vendían unos pastelitos coloniales DIVINOS y unos churros de otro mundo.
The day after our arrival, we could go to the town as such, and I can tell you that I was too excited to be true; every corner of the town was beautiful, very of the time and above all full of places ready to be explored; the first thing we did was to walk around the town, see the different stalls of the market and enter the town church, a place without a doubt beautiful. Then we did what every tourist should do if they go to Colonia Tovar: drink hot chocolate and eat strawberries and cream. Special mention for a place called "Churro Helado" where they sold some DIVINE colonial pastries and churros from another world.
Ese mismo día en la noche, decidimos ir a La Ballesta, un sitio turístico dónde las personas pueden practicar tiro con arco, disparar, cabalgar o como yo, comer unos ricos malvaviscos a la luz de la fogata, otro sitio donde la paz, te toca el corazón.
That same day in the evening, we decided to go to La Ballesta, a tourist site where people can practice archery, shooting, horseback riding or like me, eat some delicious marshmallows by the light of the campfire, another place where peace touches your heart.
Al día siguiente fuimos otra vez al pueblo a tomarnos muchas fotos en grupo, a comprar varias artesanías que queríamos para recordar de la mágica colonia Tovar. Luego fuimos a visitar Chocolatito, uno de los locales más famosos de la colonia por ser la sede del chocolate caliente, tristemente estaba cerrado por la hora, así que decidimos ir la tienda de embutidos alemanes y hacer una de nuestras últimas visitas.
The next day we went again to the village to take many group photos, to buy several handicrafts that we wanted to remember from the magical colonia Tovar. Then we went to visit Chocolatito, one of the most famous places in the colony for being the home of hot chocolate, sadly it was closed because of the time, so we decided to go to the German sausage store and make one of our last visits.
Al final tuvimos que regresar a nuestra realidad, pero sigo con ganas de ir nuevamente, pues me quedaron muchos lugares por conocer y muchas cosas por disfrutar dentro de éste pequeño pueblo que enamoró mi corazón de mil formas diferentes, ya puedo decir fielmente que "Yo ❤️ colonia Tovar"
In the end we had to return to our reality, but I still want to go again, because I had many places to visit and many things to enjoy in this small town that made me fall in love with my heart in a thousand different ways, I can now faithfully say that "I ❤️ colonia Tovar".
