I like that idea of double-exposure and the way it pulls the past forward and pushes the present backwards all at the same time. It's an interesting prospect and thought. Neither there, nor here in entirety.

I like sci-fi a lot for sure, but I guess I don't find the prospect of the future all that bright, because of people mainly. Humans are broken and I'm not sure there's a fix. So, I don't find present people all that interesting (I mean generally, not totally) and that means I don't think I'd find future people interesting either.

Past people though? I want to unlock their secrets, know what they knew, experience it. That way, I'll know who I am, how I got to be right where I am...and the rest of the world also.

It probably sounds dumb to you, but I find the past fascinating and find I'm less and less tolerant of the present.

I like that idea of doible-exposure

Also I at the same time, as I have no idea is the person would want a stranger to see those photos, so I at least try to partly destroy it. And I have no idea if that film has recognizable people from the past in it, would I publish it. Let's think about that if there's something after developing.

So, I don't find present people all that interesting (I mean generally, not totally) and that means I don't think I'd find future people interesting either.

I feel the same. The thing is that people and their genes and dna and their nature and needs are still the same as it was 100 years ago. I don't know, a thousand years ago. Tech has developed exponentially but people, naah. Evolving does not happen in few hundred years, we are still greedy, envious, bad, selfish, engaging wars and thinking that we are meant to be the earth ruling emperors and that we know all and that as we are humans, we are not animals and the other stuff out there, nature and the actual animals, do not matter and people do fine without it.

Or is it that I'm talking about the opposite thing, that I think that people generally are good but totally bad? Oh no. Let's not think about that too much. Let's just say that I agree with you.

Oh gosh, what an outburst. Sorry. :)

Past people though? I want to unlock their secrets

Digging into ones past is really fascinating. Not only if there are somehow famous people there, good or bad, but seeing how they probably, as you have their genes, have thought about things the same way. More or less.

But there also are the really significant things in the history of people. If you could get your hands in to that knowledge that was in the destroyed library of Alexandria, or get to see any other place that was destroyed and people today know very little of it, would you want to see it? Perhaps somewhat a stupid question as I think I already know the answer.

It probably sounds dumb to you, but I find the past fascinating and find I'm less and less tolerant of the present.

I completely understand you.

Don't be sorry, I liked what you said and agree. People are just people I guess, and we can choose to be better ones, you and I (or everyone) but we can't really make people be better ones.

In my think like a leader post on Thursday I write about this exact thing, (it's written already). I mean about human's inability to stop the greed and ego and the pursuit of war. I don't see it changing and so I see a bad future ahead. My post explains it more. Interesting you refer to that stuff though. We think the same obviously. (Similar).

If you could get your hands in to that knowledge that was in the destroyed library of Alexandria, or get to see any other place that was destroyed

I'd be there in a shot...I love history, unfolding its layers and revealing...I don't know, truth, understanding and clarity. I wish I had a time machine. No one from the current present would ever see me again.

Hey, thanks for the hint, I better remember to check your post this Thursday.

No one from the current present would ever see me again.

Or we would. You'd be the guy in the crowd with just a tad too modern clothes in historical photos and ancient cave paintings. :D
