Weekly Battle Challenge - DRAGONS! 🐉

Welcome to weekly challenge of Splinterlands. This week we will be focusing on using a Dragon effectively in our battles.

I focused on using my belowed monster: DJINN CHWALA!

DJINN CHWALA stats.png

It is a perfect DRAGON card that has 2 melee attack, 2 speed, 5 armor and 9 HP 😎

What's great about this monster is that it is really harmful against the melee attackers! Thanks to THORNS ability, any melee attacker gets 2 melee attack damage back when it deals damage to Chwala.

When we talk about Melee Attack, most of us will think about their FIRE set as there are amazing attackers over there. Now that my rival is going to use Fire set, it is time to summon DJINN CHWALA!

The Set Up

I expected my rival to use Fire Summoners but, contrary to my expectation, s/he used QID YUFF rather than TARSA. In this situation, the monsters would not have any problem with my monsters' armour.

The Set Up.png

My set up was based on protecting Regal Peryton for 1 magic attack and dealing + receiving damage on Chwala. Meanwhile, the armour of Chwala was planned to be repaired to survive longer.

Yet, Piercing ability of rival monsters eliminated my last liners with 2 basic melee attacks. At that point, things were not perfectly fine for my team.

Match ongoing 2.png

I only had 2 melee attack + 1 magic attack + 2 "Thorns" damage to eliminate the rivals.

My team set was based on Chwala and all the burden was on his shoulders. Regal Peryton helped him diminish the number of monsters Chwala deals with.

Through the end of the match, Chwala was alone but 2 thorns damage was too great to help him wipe the other monsters out!

9 HP & 2+2 attack points were the rest that I had.

Thanks to its strong tank skills, I was able to win the match against the Fire monsters 🔥

The Result

The result was not interesting as I deliberately chose DJINN CHWALA to be the best tank against Fire monsters.

The Result 4 new.jpeg

I won the match as I could foresee the monsters my rival can use and the weaknesses the team will have.

Though Piercing created a lot of problem to my monsters, Chwala is a strong one that can go against an army of melee attackers 😉

Strengths & Weaknesses of the Set Up

The strongest side of my team was not the armour that all my monsters had because the piercing ability made it useless. Thorns of my Chwala were the major factors that helped my team eliminate the melee attackers of the rival.

I scrutinized the previous battles of my rival and I expected Sneak and Opportunity abilities to be used in the battle. Thus, I protected my magic attacker!

The weakness of my team was that my last liners only had 1-2 HP + 1 armour from the summoneer. When Piercing is received by the monsters, the rival team killed them with 1 or 2 basic attacks without too much burden.

When these monsters could not even attack or defend the sources of attack, they became useless. This is going to be the first thing for me to consider before I set my cards against Piercing Ability.
